Devon meet up

Would love to come and meet my springy version if I lived in Devon--but no such luck. Anyone up for a meet-up in Mid Sussex?

Our meeting list is very small so do feel free to come and join us if anyone else lives close enough to get to Exeter. I don't think there's any need to book a table for anything less than a party of eight or so.

Are you all still okay to come?

I just came onto this thread to report that sadly, no, I won't be able to come after all. My DS had surgery today and will need our help on Monday - he has his GF picking him up from hospital and staying from tomorrow right through the weekend, but she's back to work on Monday and I know he won't be able to manage on his own all day.
I'm really gutted at not being able to come and meet up with you all - please arrange another meet up in the future when I'll be able to join in!!!

I'm sorry about that Bathsheba, but quite understand and hope your son recovers soon. I'll look in my diary and maybe aim for another meeting in mid-July, before the children break up for summer, will that work for others?

My problem is I have many commitments but I will do my best!

It was great to meet up with springychicken and barbriam and put faces to names. The venue was easy to get to from Exeter railway station and the food was good too. I understand the problem of commitments fourormore - between work and family it's a complete juggling act, but with enough notice perhaps more of us could make it next time.
Shall we try for mid-July before the schools break up? Say one day in the week beginning Monday 9th? Perhaps Bathsheba, Kezia and Phoenix could make it then too - and hopefully other SW gransnetters.

Will watch out for a date. I come from down in Cornwall so would travel by train. Would be good to put faces to names.

I would be interested too; I can get to Exeter on the bus in my chair and then get another to St David's. Or what about meeting at the huge Weatherspoons that's halfway between the 2 stations?

Hi Miepl - I did think about the Imperial (Weatherspoons), but although it's got wheelchair access it's on a hill and not so easy to get to from the station. The Mill on the Exe has the advantage of being on the level and only a few minutes walk from the railway where buses also stop (bus H) and it has a car park.

That week shouldn't be a problem for me ga. It'll be good to have another opportunity to meet all the SW bunch as I wasn't able to make it on Monday.

Not sure what my diary is looking like for July but I'll keep checking in. Still with dgc until the end of the week ?

Persistentdonor and I met up in Torbay today and enjoyed an iced coffee.
Sadly, she had no other takers for the Torbay meet up (see separate thread) and we certainly don't want to take any one away from the Exeter group.
Obviously Torbay is closer for us, and two is a start, but it may not take off. If any one wishes to join us as well please get in touch.

NEXT EXETER MEET-UP
The Wonderful Man was due to go away on a three week cycling holiday on the 8th of July and has changed his booking so that he can take me away for a week to Cornwall first, so I can't now make the 9th of July. As I thought he'd be off on his travels I hadn't got around to mentioning my own plans. Bathsheba and Kathsue are you able to meet on the 16th instead?
Or if anyone really can't make a Monday is there another day/date that more people could agree on?
