Grampy lives to fight another day - but a hairs breadth !! I have sent him outside to mow the front lawn under the guise that it will be good for him to be outside on such a beautiful day.... but as I cannot hear the mower I suspect he has stopped to chat with someone !!

Its too hot for Sam and he is in the craft room with me in the cool , but the windows are all flung open through the house , its lovely !!

You're entitled to a wobble Maw, these little things will trip you up now and again , but it sounds like a marvellous break. I love the Eurostar !!

As it turns out Soop the darn thing stopped working, so he thought he’d pull the weeds up, no hat, heat of the day, still under the weather !!!

He came in looking awful , so I sent him to bed! The grass will keep for another few days or I shall find a hunky young Norfolk lad to come and do the job !!

Afternoon All. Phew, been out all day and pleased to get back to the relative cool. Enjoyed the beach, coffee, lunch and a very melty ice cream. Did not enjoy a frustrating search for a top to go with a skirt, seems none exist. The reality of the ironing now awaits. .

Greyduster Our friends, he a Scot, and she an English lady, confirm that at their wedding he wore nowt under the kilt. We were at a ceilidh some time years ago. English friend took out her wee mirror and looked under a Scotsman's kilt. She laughed so much I couldn't say for certain what it was she saw.

My son-in-law, when on the odd occasion he sports his kilt, tells me there is nothing underneath, well, nothing of a garment nature.

I was informed that there’s nothing worn under the kilt.

Yes, the rumours are true; don't ask me how I know. However, when the kilt wearer is performing vigorous dances like the Highland Fling, I suspect the rule is broken; likewise in the case of military kilts.

I've been to the care home. It was good to see M sitting in her usual chair. Most of the residents were fast asleep. One lady, J, wanted to get out of chair, as she was eager to catch the bus to Glasgow. I explained that it had been delayed. Asked her to remain seated until it came to pick her up. She seemed happy to wait.

Last night's sunset was, as usual, beautiful.

Just had lunch with SiL who came to inspect the decorating. We sat in the garden room and watched all the baby birds - we have great and blue tits, sparrows and robins. It is a good job Charlie is too old to be bothered!

Afternoon ladies of the kitchen.

Certainly another very warm day and the perspiration is rolling off me and I cannot honestly add that I am THAT busy.........a spot of gardening in the lightest sense only.

However must ask you ladies do you have any problems tuning in to Gransnet and/or any of the headings?
It was perfect....... without problems at all.... until about 2/3 weeks ago and it has now got to the stage my P.C is quite likely to get thrown out of the window........it really is almost impossable to get here at all,I am in despair.
Having found you and enjoying my visits it really is most upsetting..... waiting for ages to be allowed in.
Any answers would be appreciated
My DH has tried just about everything he can think of and all the scans say all is fine.................but believe me it is not and I am getting rather upset.

As you were! I read the first page and not the last!! I have been ironing all morning, and in the garden all afternoon and frankly, I am on my knees and my brain is not functioning (no change there, then). I had rather an embarrassing moment when I was hunkered down at the back of the flower bed digging out some weeds in a tight space when I fell back against the wall and couldn’t heave myself up off the ground! No room to turn sideways onto my hands and knees, so stuck! I had to call my knight in shining armour (well, more like Don Quixote these days!) to rescue me. Of course he laughed but once up on my feet I didn’t have the energy to kick him! Now, to add insult to injury, I have a rash on my arm. On the plus side, my honeysuckle hedge is flowering and the scent is heavenly.

Because it is dull, grey, slightly chilly and threatening rain, Himself has decided to light the barbecue. We could have had a nice lasagne, but hey, what do I know?

You make me laugh Grey. Our weather is much like yours - just off to tie up the delphiniums before Thursday’s forecast winds.

Grey I'm also having a wee chuckle. It's the way you tell 'em. If ever I'm on the ground without something to hang on to, I cannot get upright. As for that rash...have you been rootling around anything noxious? Keep an eye on it.

JaneD3 There could be yet another colourful sunset this evening. We are told that high winds and rain are heading this way (possibly Thursday). No surprise as we've had almost three weeks of wall to wall sunshine. We need some rain.

Briefly we were the proud owner of a new lawnmower ....then it blew up!! So we will retrace our steps tomorrow and return said pile of junk!!
