Crumbs, opening a new kitchen is a bit of a responsibility. I hope everyone finds it - I'll just leave the door ajar.

Bubbles and cake on the side - enjoy!

Welcome back Panache, so glad you are slowly improving. You have been sorely missed.
I am an occasional kitchen visitor, but you were very sweet to me, and I have seen how kind you have been to many Gransnetters.
Take care.flowers

Apologies for rushing into the kitchen Soop.
Nearly fell over the doorstep in my haste.

Saw that Panache had posted and just wanted to say
'Welcome back Panache'

I have missed you and hope that when you are feeling able you will be back on your games thread with your usual challenging acronyms.

Thank you Kitcheners
The aroma of cakes -has made me a little

I don't post very often but I read about the goings on in the kitchen every day. So lovely to see your name come up Panache. Everyone was so worried about you but I'm very glad to see you back. Sorry to hear about your eye problems. Much love to you and your dear husband for keeping us informed about your progress. Look after yourself and hopefully you will go from strength to strength.

mrshat Mon 24-Sept-18 16:37:48

Delighted to see you back Panache - as is always the advice, make haste slowly and enjoy being in your own home again with Mr P who has been a star! flowers to you both.

mrshat Mon 24-Sept-18 16:39:37

Good to see you getting chirpier by the day soop. Long may it continue. Like Panache, make haste slowly and enjoy your special celebration to the full. flowers

mrshat Mon 24-Sept-18 16:40:53

Ann good news about respite booking for your DH. Do look after yourself too. flowers

soop Mon 24-Sept-18 16:59:10

We are all delighted to have Panache back in the kitchen. She must take things easy. It's up to us lot to bake some delicious cakes. Naturally, I'm excused. My cake would be a great disappointment. I shall purchase something suitable from our village shop.

Anyway, I have to away to wash my hair. It's something that takes a long time. It tangles easily. I get cross as I try to tame it. By bedtime...I should have completed the task. wink

I shall log off for today. Tomorrow is ironing duty day. I've had a fortnight off. Time to put on a smile and dash away with the smoothing iron. A girl has to have a few perks to brighten her day. If I do not return to the kitchen until I'm back home, look after yourselves and each other. Enjoy all your blessings. smile moon

You have made my day Panache. You have been in our constant thoughts (and prayers from some of us). I lit a candle for you in a lovely local church.

So pleased you have got such a devoted DH.

Keep gaining strength and enjoy being back in your own home.

NfkDumpling Mon 24-Sept-18 17:06:30

Welcome back Panache. flowers.

NanaandGrampy Mon 24-Sept-18 17:34:28

Evening all !

I am all behind I'm afraid - I really do need to get more organised.

Welcome back Panache we were worried about you there. Hope now you are feeling a little better.

You're sounding a little brighter too soop which is good news.

I definitely feel your pain GQ , our Laura gave us all a bit of a scare over the weekend with some goings on on snapchat . She has now had those privileges removed and a long discussion with Mummy about crying wolf etc. Seems she wanted to say the same as the other girls :-( But I see some troubled waters ahead as she negotiates through the teenage years.

Its such a tough time these days with technology, peer pressure and huge expectations to be the perfect person. I feel for them.

We have a few busy days coming up as we run Sam down to his holiday home with the little boys. We have a cram full day because we have shopping to do in stores not close to our new home.

Grampy has been working in the garden to get the hard landscaping under way and of course we turned on the boiler and now cant turn it off :-( The damn thing will be the death of us both. I hate oil fired heating but its pretty much our only choice !!

But our troubles are little compared with some who pop in here so Ill stop whining !!

I'm away all next week so will have to catch up when I get home unless we are lucky to have great wifi .

Ill leave you with a picture of Jackson and his home work, a snowy owl ( made from a pair of Nanas favourite fluffy socks!!). Mummy cut the wings but he did the rest. I think we can safely say I wont be getting them back !!

callgirl1 Mon 24-Sept-18 18:34:30

Panache, welcome back, a thousand times over! Hopefully you are on the way to recovery. Many thanks to your lovely husband for keeping us in the loop.
Soop, when do you go off on your dream trip?
Those cheese scones LOOK delicious, so please don`t be angry with me when I say that I prefer the fruit version, as long as there aren`t any cherries in.

NonnaW Mon 24-Sept-18 18:52:37

So pleased to see you posting again panache. Also good news about the respite ann, and good to hear that soop is feeling better.
flowers to anyone I’ve missed.
DH is busying himself doing ‘to scale’ plans of the rooms in the new house to see what furniture we can fit in. We’ve found a hone for the dining table and chairs, also some of the garden bits and bobs, now I must gird my loins to post a few things on Gumtree, as no response from our local selling page.

annodomini Mon 24-Sept-18 18:55:17

So pleased to see you back Panache - a very warm welcome from me too. The MD is a buggeration on top of all your other problems. I hope that something can be done for you. Your Mr P is an absolute treasure. I think we have all fallen for him! flowers and cupcake

Doodle Mon 24-Sept-18 19:11:22

ann so pleased you have managed to get respite care sorted. Hopefully, DH will be fine and you will have a well deserved break.

Bellanonna Mon 24-Sept-18 19:12:56

Dear Panache! X
GD those scones look lovely! I too made some yesterday but none left for a photo. I had not been stamping them out thick enough but now have the knack. Not quite perfect. I need to add a bit more cheese and more cayenne although the mustard might just “cut it”. Some more tomorrow methinks.

Wonderful to see Panache back on the sofa in the kitchen.

cornergran Mon 24-Sept-18 19:14:37

Welcome back panache, you’re return is very welcome news.

Bellanonna Mon 24-Sept-18 19:46:08

Isn’t GN lovely? Especially the Kitchen

aggie Mon 24-Sept-18 19:47:31

Great to see Soop back to strength
welcome Panache so good to have you back
Ann it is such good news that you have another respite to look forward to !

kittylester Mon 24-Sept-18 21:00:53

I'm just rushing in to say how lovely it is to see you Panache, we have missed you.

We've had a busy few days with different bits of family coming and then a trip to see DD2 and children today so I am struggling to keep up.

GQ I'm sorry you are having worries. We never stop caring do we?

Ann, I'm pleased you have some respite booked and hope that things are not too stressful for you at home.

I'm sorry for anyone else whose news I've missed! I'll try to do better tomorrow!

Bellanonna Mon 24-Sept-18 22:57:02

Ann that’s good about the respite. You did make me laugh about the wine (the accidental spilling of). I love your humour.

grannyqueenie Mon 24-Sept-18 23:27:30

n&g you are indeed a star Nana to sacrifice those socks, especially with the cold nights fast approaching! But it is a very fine owl and young Jackson does look suitably appreciative! I hope you enjoy your few days away. Yes you’re right, these are difficult times to be bringing up teens. Even my son and daughters say it’s a million miles away from their younger years. I’m very glad I’m only the granny, that’s stressful enough! I watched tonight’s panorama programme about mental health services for young people, it did nothing to lift my spirits. sad

kitty aren’t you having a baby sometime soon? Well not you exactly but you know what I mean! Ann, when I read your post about pouring the wine I thought you were going to say you’d decided just to skip that stage and have it straight from the bottle to avoid spillage! Then I remembered you’re far too much of a lady to do such a thing! Seriously though, I’m sorry you’re having to cope with such sight limitations on top of everything else you deal with every day.

Enjoyed a good walk this afternoon round a still rather empty resevoir, we spotted one lone angler - I’m guessing it wasn’t you gd! They’ve been doing some forestry management so we happened upon a huge wood pile, much longer than the photo I’ll attach shows it to be. It’s all so dry, I wonder how some of the trees are surviving.

Well my bed is calling, wishing you all refreshing sleep x

ChaosIncorporated Tue 25-Sept-18 05:28:10

ann ....so pleased you have found alternative respite care. It must be a weight off your mind.

soop ...glad you are feeling better, but do take it easy with the ironing.

Loving the owl n&g

Impressive scones greyd. Well, the crumbs looked impressive at least....nothing else was left on the plate!

I am very fed up with waking at silly o'clock. When the clocks go back, it will be even more ridiculous. Does anyone have any tips for getting back to sleep?

harrigran Tue 25-Sept-18 08:27:45
