Crumbs, opening a new kitchen is a bit of a responsibility. I hope everyone finds it - I'll just leave the door ajar.

Bubbles and cake on the side - enjoy!

☃️?! Bore da, Annie.

Anniebach Tue 18-Sept-18 10:29:27

Bore da Greyduster ?

annsixty Tue 18-Sept-18 10:57:21

One minor victoty to report.
I have just received 2 large boxes of incontinence pads FREE.

The last communication before I went away was that we couldn't have them if it was a UTI.
The powers that be obviously decided it wasn't.

One small step annsixty

So sorry to hear about the respite ann, hope you find something to replace it for your own wellbeing.
Glad to see soop is on the mend.
DS1 was supposed to be arriving yesterday for some r&r from his daughter/ex problems. I get a message saying he’s had loads of work come in which had to be done that day so wouldn’t make it. Then a phone call last night to say probably not this week (which I interpret to mean month), as his is now in a calmer state and not so much in need. I should know him by now, this happens on a regular basis. Why did I buy extra food when shopping? Oh well, if he’s feeling better about things that’s the main thing. Trouble is, he’s a big softy and if ex starts on the sob stories (usually involving the need for money), he’s likely to fall for it again. Hey ho, he’s not likely to change now.
Hope everyone is coping with all the troubles and sadness around at the moment. flowers and cupcake for all.

Anniebach My late mother lived in Wales for a short time. She claimed that she could speak Welsh. Whenever I asked her to do so, she would say 'Bore da' or something that sounded like 'Yaki da'. Tell me it wasn't rude. wink

Ann Yes indeed...one small step forwards That's the important thing. We're all behind you. That's a promise.

The new gizmo arrived this morning. It was ordered yesterday afternoon. It looks alien. I haven't a bloody clue as to what to do with it. Neither has MacS. The instructions are minimalist. When I'm better, I shall wander round to my pal's house. She knows what's what. She'll sort me out. grin

soop Tue 18-Sept-18 11:17:52

Nonna It's called love. That's what we do. flowers

annsixty Tue 18-Sept-18 11:22:13

I am so pleased you are improving soop and I hope you love your new gismo.
I have got both iPad and samsung tablets but thr iPad seems to be on permanent loan to my son.
Fortunately I like my samsung and it does all I need.
Very blowy but sunny here, I have loads of washing so that is good.
Just me I know but I have to wash everything H has taken to the care home ,even though it has been laundered.

soop Tue 18-Sept-18 11:33:03

Alygran If I could transport myself to be with you on your birthday, I would be happy to help you celebrate. cupcake wine flowers

Greyduster Don't you just love the grandchildren to bits. Patience will always play dividends.

NannyAli Ouch! tour eye problem sound awfully painful. Do you not have a friend who can accompany you to the hospital? I don't like the idea of you going alone. smile

Ann That made me chuckle. grin

I'm popping off for a short break. I shall return. All of you...take good care of yourselves.

ffinnochio Tue 18-Sept-18 11:36:01

Glad you’re back where you belong, soop !

cornergran Tue 18-Sept-18 11:44:53

Good to see you back soop. Gently does it. You may find the ‘gizmo’ sorts itself if you turn it on. Good luck [smil]

Something similar here nonna. We never stop worrying.

A victory of common sense ann. flowers.

Off for lunch now. Be careful out there everyone.

Charleygirl Tue 18-Sept-18 11:46:20

Ann that young lady has a mega problem if she only has one Achilles heel! I agree, rather young to start that nonsense.

The inco pads will not last long- have you any more freebies in the pipeline?

I keep telling many of you to move to NW London where the sun is shining. Admittedly it was dull and grey earlier but the washing machine is on as usual.

Anniebach Tue 18-Sept-18 12:02:44

soop your mother was saying ‘ good health / cheers, it’s said usually as a toast when you raise your glass ?

Anniebach Tue 18-Sept-18 12:04:43

Ooh, I have learned how to ‘do bold type’.

MawBroon Tue 18-Sept-18 12:08:22

flowers Alygran on your birthday (today?)
Bittersweet aren’t they?

Charleygirl Tue 18-Sept-18 12:15:41

So nice to know that I am not the only perfect Virgoan.

Greyduster Tue 18-Sept-18 12:37:47

We have just been swimming. You know you are getting old when what sounds like full blown sex in a changing cubicle is just two pensioners struggling to get their b****y socks on!! I am now collapsed in a chair with a coffee and a large custard slice. There is no hope.....

aggie Tue 18-Sept-18 12:50:33

ann I hope that you find another good respite place xxx . we bought extra pads for the last year , I hope the ones you got are just the start of the proper supply xxx
Soop great to see you back , I haven't an ipad but use my Kindle here sometimes
Greyduster I was in the throes of feet/sock business when DD came in and , between falling about and sniggering , got the socks and feet in the correct order

soop Tue 18-Sept-18 12:58:56

Greyduster Have burst into a major fit of the giggles. MacSporran wants to know why. Have shown him your post. Now he's chuckling. Great fun. Well said!

AnnieB Haha...that makes sense. I didn't think for one moment that my dear late mother was saying something profound. Bless her!

Hello ffinnochio It's good to have you with us.

corner A good mate will be calling in to introduce me to the wonders of technology that everyone on the Planet understands with the exception of me and my man. wink

soop Tue 18-Sept-18 12:59:58

aggie grin

kittylester Tue 18-Sept-18 13:00:35

I don't believe you GD!!

Greyduster Tue 18-Sept-18 13:37:09

kitty if you mean what I think you mean, all I can say is “I wish!”?

Synonymous Tue 18-Sept-18 13:49:55

My cleaner arrived to say that she had a cold and a rattling chest infection and did I want her to stay! Mmm, that's a toughie! Do we want a cold and/or a chest infection? I really don't think so, thank you and goodbye! So morethan I was just reading your post about being more aware of the dust when you are not able and it is very true. Adopting the 'good enough' philosophy is the only way forward. Good job we are not mucky people! grin

Synonymous Tue 18-Sept-18 13:51:35

GreyD grin

Overthehills Tue 18-Sept-18 13:52:35

Thank you to all of you in the kitchen just now (and glad to see Soop back). I’m waiting for phone call/text from DD and don’t quite know what to do with myself. She’s had such a tough few years - one damn thing after another - and I just want to make it all better. There was an important meeting this morning and I wish she’d let me know how it went ... Sorry to be such a misery when so many of you are struggling one way or another.
