Dairy Cook Book

My day is made! A new edition is available through our Milkman, this book along with a set of Delia taught me to cook for my family when I was younger and is now held together with string. I am showing how I have changed, I used to be furious with DH if he bought a cookbook as a present, but this morning to find this offer on our doorstep has made my day, along of course with a promised visit by DGD and parents later. A useless post but cannot get over how delighted I am to replace such an old favorite and I have to tell someone!

I still have our Dairy cookbook - which DS used as a key textbook when taking his Home Economics GCE in 1984. (Also we have a two or three of the bigger ones, which followed.) But the original is brilliant. My copy is falling apart - time for a new one. Thanks for posting!

I have the same two dairy cookbooks as Bathsheba although the one is now minus its cover. I still use them & some of our family favourites came from them e.g. Grandma's cheese pudding, superb for a winter's evening. Like several other posters, The Pauper's cookbook honed my culinary skills as a student as did a Marguerite Patten step by step book - still here somewhere

I loved these cookery books from being a young girl and learned to cook using them with my beloved nana. Just found an online seller and bought this 2018 special edition.

The Bero one was my first cookery book, fifty years ago. I wish that I still had it!

Dont remember that particular book but I have used Pears Family Cookbook 1964, and Delia's Complete Cookery Course, both brilliant. If I want something fancy then I search the internet!!!

Milkman! Haven't seen one of those for at least 10 years!
I still have my book but haven't used it for probably longer than when we saw a milkman.
