Always late to the party. Its been a warm sunny day in Porto tiday and very different from yesterdays wet and windy weather. Some dear friends came up to Porto with us yesterday as they had never been before and we have had a lovely day viewing Porto from the tourist bus. Tomorrow DH and I are flying to England for 5 days and it looks as though we will met by sone rain tomorrow when we arrive.

Good afternoon, only just found time to get onto GN and its Grey, wet and horrible here in Somerset. Went early this morning for my flue jab, did some food shopping, husband came and met me and we had coffee and a teacake in Waitrose after shopping in Lidl next door. Home to the stress of sorting out my daughter for whom I have POA and trying to get her to understand she could not have £130 for a taxi to the hospital and would have to use the hospital transport that had been booked. Hasn't gone down well but its difficult with people with learning difficulties getting them to understand money. Still she will just have together over it. Now it's time to think about eating this evening which could be fresh air sandwiches the way I am feeling.

Just back from meeting friend for lunch and dog walk 40 miles away. Drove through rain so bad my wipers couldn't cope, followed by sunshine 2 minutes later.

Hi Mick, sorry to be late for the morning, however picked up on the point you are visiting you parents and grandparents graves. I hope it went well. In France at the moment the graveyards are full of colour because it is a tradition that on the 1st November families visit them to leave potted chrysanthemums.

The sun is about to rise so everything is looking beautiful. Somebody remarked that a few posters were from overseas on this thread. To be honest I hadn’t noticed it until a few days ago. Still, it’s nice to say Good Morning even though the majority of you are well into your day.

Mild and sunny morning here, so went walking with the dog on the mountain paths, I could see clearly Anglesey and two ships at anchor in the south Irish Sea on the horizon waiting for a berth in Liverpool I guess. So mild lately that there are many bedding plants still in bloom and the geraniums are still beautiful but the winter flowering clematis "Freckles" is in full bloom rather early.

Continued horizontal rain in 'sunny' Aberdeenshire with additional howling gale. Still making quilted balls for Xmas.

Ash I be, you are LATs- living apart together. I am too, although my partner lives only ten minutes from me. I’m glad it’s working for you!

good morning everyone. Wet and wild in central London today, and grey, very grey. Wednesday got off to an interesting start - set our alarm to make sure we were up in time for a Sainsbury's delivery, then discovered they're coming this evening! But the bonus is : got all the ironing done and now have a free afternoon.

Morning all! It's afternoon by some definitions but I quite like the notion that it isn't afternoon till after one's had one's lunch ?
Dreich up here. I suppose I should do some housework since dealing with garden dragons isn't really on the cards. Hey ho.

Happy days, dudes.

Was raining in Essex but sunny at the moment. Off to zumba in a minute, lunch and then a drive to pick up DGC from school.

Welcome Ashcombe, it sounds as if you have the best of both worlds!

Hello from France, where it’s brightening up after a damp start. I’ve only just found this thread as it was on today’s Gransnet email so I hope to join in, if I may.
I’m on my second marriage (three years and very happy) but we have an unusual relationship (my vicar calls it semi-detached!) as I have a flat in Babbacombe (Torquay) and OH lives in a village near Le Mans. We spend time together and apart and it works for us. He is British and we attended the same school although didn’t date. We got together via the now defunct Friends Reunited.

Have a good day, everyone!

Morning all from West Northants. Plucking up courage to pull up the pots of red Geraniums which are still flowering beautifully in front of the cottage. Need to plant the Daffs for next Spring... in 28 years here I've never planted the Daffs so late ! What a funny old year it's been in the garden.

Anyway - looks like it's going to rain, so will probably leave them over the weekend for Remembrance Day. Have just bought the 8 bottles of Mulled Wine for after the Service. Warm the wine in my Slow Cooker and serve it with a soup ladle. Perfect !

Good morning from a windy-but-dry-and-bright corner of Morecambe Bay, Lancashire.

Jalima1108 Wed 07-Nov-18 10:50:15

Good morning everyone (better late than never!)

It is very black out there and pouring with rain but not windy. I need to venture out to the shops for a couple of things which I could have easily bought yesterday, but forgot.
It's tempting to just stay indoors today, but at least the plants are getting a good watering.

I hope all is well with Rufus - he has gone very quiet.

lindiann Wed 07-Nov-18 10:45:30

Good Morning from a grey and wet New Forest

adaunas Wed 07-Nov-18 10:35:01

Good morning everyone. Here in North Lancs its sunny and breezy at the moment. I'm hoping it'll stay that way at work this afternoon when im on playground duty.
This is not a good week as we have just lost two friends. I knew one has been really ill for a long time, the other was sudden. Don't know whether to call round today or leave them in peace for a few days.

Morning all, from a wet north Norfolk! ...Catching up on food front and then volunteer reading this afternoon at my local primary school with year 2!

LouLou21 Wed 07-Nov-18 10:22:20

Good morning one and all, from a very windy and wet Margate no walk by the sea for me today but mustn’t complain dry days have far outweighed the wet ones so far this year.
