I think Izabelle is right. The motives of those pointing out what seem to them like dodgy posts are not smugness or superiority, and they don't forget that they were once newbies. They sometimes see what looks remarkably like an attempt to bamboozle those same newbies, and can't help posting a warning. Would it be better to let their kindness be taken advantage of? Possibly, and perhaps intervention by admin is better, but HQ is busy, as they have said, and we are not 5 year-olds, needing Mummy or teacher to sort out everything for us.
Active moderation could be the answer, but that would need a lot more of someone's time, and we would have to pay for it.
