Morning Kitchen !

Happy New Year to you all.

Safe travels Anno , I hope you enjoy your time with your sister despite the sad news being the reason for travel.

Sorry to hear about your neighbour Galen , that is quite a blow .

We are a haven of peace and quiet here. Its even mostly tidy after the hordes left late afternoon yesterday We had a wonderful family time , exactly how it should be. The little ones had a high old time, we grown ups ate and drank too much , played some crazy games and generally just enjoyed being together.

I am left with a cold courtesy of the small fry and absolutely no voice at all !!I think Grampy feels it adds to the peace ;-)

Now its just time to start the slow process of taking down the decorations which I absolutely hate but someone has to do it ( there's a niche market there for any company willing to do it !!!)

Ill leave you with a couple of pictures of my lot and my very best wishes to each and everyone of you for the best 20189 possible !

PS yes that is a turkey hat on Coopers head- don't ask lol !

Safe journey anno, I hope you will have some special memory moments with your sister.

Galen I am so sorry to hear of your neighbours sad news.

A new year but already this kitchen is having more than it’s fair share of troubles, so grateful to soop for providing this safe haven for us all.

Well I am back to the gym after a break if 2 weeks so I’ll be aching tomorrow, might start taking the decorations down room by room.

I shall pop back later ☕️

Such sad news for the start of a new year.
Take care of yourself Anno, it is a long journey.

Galen so sorry to hear your neighbours news.

My DH is still pretty inactive. I didn’t realise how much he does around the house. Maybe another visit to GP is in order but will wait until Friday when she should have got the results of X Ray. Really hoping it doesn’t mean a new hip. Not sure I can face us both having treatment at the same time!

Gagagran Wed 02-Jan-19 08:02:23

Not the best start to 2019 Galen and it must have taken the gilt off the gingerbread of your cruise to return home to that awful news. Poor soul - she has a rocky road in store.

kittylester Wed 02-Jan-19 07:12:41

So sorry to hear your news galen. Your neighbour will be glad of your knowledgeable support, I'm sure. What a sad start to the new year.

Galen. I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbour. You must be really upset to find such awful news waiting for her. Poor woman - a very nasty diagnosis.

I’ve come home to find my next door neighbour has a tumour that is completely blocking her oesaphagus.
I suspect it is probably suitable for palliative treatment only.
She is seeing the consultant on Friday for the results of a biopsy and future treatment options

Safe journey anno. Enjoy your time with your sister and make more good memories. You will never regret it. I made a similar journey to Oz 5 years ago and it was one of the best things I ever did. Travel well and take care . flowers

I know soop was puzzled that I had mentioned going away but hadn't said why or where. I really didn't want to talk about it it before I was ready to go, but now I have checked in on line and printed my boarding pass, and about this time tomorrow will be taking off for New Zealand. It's not strictly a holiday, because I am going to see my sister who has recently had the terrible diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease. Our other sister isn't free to go at present so I decided that I would go and see how things are going. Her diagnosis is fairly recent and her neurologist has received permission to use a drug recently approved for use in NZ. It slows down the progress of the disease but the prognosis, sadly, doesn't change.
Time to finish packing!
So, au revoir, mes amies. Good luck to you all for 2019. See you next month. xxx

A swift hoovering up of left-over cake and I will be over there!
