Just to clarify I do not support the practice of FGM anywhere or for any reason... nor circumcision. Whereas FGM is cultural , circumcision is more linked to religious practice..

Cultural and religious practises are one and the same that can justify a wide range of abuse including mutilating baby boys and girls, forced marrisge, wearing body covering clothes for women and domestic violence.

I have no truck with hiding abuse in the name of religion or culture and neither should our laws

Circumcision is not necessarily cultural or religious.
It is carried out in many countries, and not just Third World countries, for health reasons under anaesthetic.
Whilst I do not necessarily agree with this it cannot be put in the same category as FGM which is barbaric and is never carried out for reasons of health.

Well if you look st it as mutilating a child without their consent it’s equakly morally abhorrent but of course FGM Is horrific in its long term medical and psychological concequences .

Jamila she and the others could start by reading the Koran and studying it’s early history. There are verses that can be quoted to justify ISIS actions but only if they ate taken out of context.

Life as we live it here ( or virtually anywhere in the world) may never be considered better by Moslems or other religious groups including some Christians. It is too far removed from the standards laid down in the book of any mainstream religion.

Well Trump is now demanding that Europe steps up to the plate regarding ISIL terrorists. Unless we take them back (over 800 of them captured in Syria) and lock them up we are going to have a lot of trouble on our soil as the USA isn’t taking them (why should they?) and if they just release them then they say the terrorists will just make their own way back to Europe.

Our own MI5 is warning that so called ‘lone wolf attacks’ are a big concern now that the Caliphate is almost wiped out.

We are going to have to really get to grips with this issue if we have them returning home to Britain.

Immediate detention is essential to investigate what crimes they may have committed and then to assess what to do with them. I think we must have a purpose built prison for these terrorists so they can’t be influencing other prisoners.

New detention laws will be needed and much stronger policies that may fall foul of human rights acts but we have to do it.

All parties need to come together to do this
