Having heard that Ukraine has elected a comedian as president I wondered who I'd vote for if we had to elect one.
Josh Widdecombe would cheer us all up. David Mitchell might be too intellectual and cynical. James Acaster too off the wall.
Possibly Rob Brydon? I'm not sure.
Not interested in responses commenting on current politics please.
Who would you suggest?

Well it's obvious really we have Boris waiting in the wings.

Frankie Boyle.

Difficult one as most comedians are lefties.

Stephen Fry is clever, funny and has gravitas too. He's had an interesting lifestyle.

Grammaretto Mon 22-Apr-19 09:28:58

Michael Palin

Mrs Brown?

Kandinsky Mon 22-Apr-19 09:36:34

Yeah, I’d go with Mrs Brown. grin

Alima Mon 22-Apr-19 09:40:17

Ken Dodd, we would all pay less tax. (Wouldn’t have any public services though!)

DanniRae Mon 22-Apr-19 09:42:00

I think Ken Dodd is dead Alima??

Liz46 Mon 22-Apr-19 09:44:29

Bradley Walsh

Billy Connolly or Mrs Brown. I find very few of the comedians today funny.

Sara65 Mon 22-Apr-19 09:48:02

Don’t get the Mrs Brown thing, can’t see anything remotely funny in it, but I think Stephen Fry would be good

henetha Mon 22-Apr-19 09:50:16

Michael Macintyre....or Mrs.Brown.... Or Joe Lycett..

Lighthearted thread Sara ?

Romesh Ranganathan. He’d be hopeless on his own, but unstoppable with his mother in the Cabinet.

Maggiemaybe Mon 22-Apr-19 10:09:51

Ditto Jack Whitehall and his dad!
