Its a quiet Monday here at work. I'm bored stiff as the lads are out on site and the phone hasn't rung since 10am !

I have all the lights on and its black dark outside. Looks like there's a storm a comin'...… I'm picking the older DGC up from school at 3.15 and have no coat so will no doubt end up soaked to the skin. Might rummage around and see if I can find a high vis knocking around.

What's it like where you are?

It's been very quiet here, but my neighbour has just started rummaging about in his garage. Not noisy, just the occasional rattle and thump. It's cloudier than yesterday, with more breeze and a good bit cooler.

Total garden abandonment.

Sitting under a tree cooling off having spent the morning digging up a tree root, watching a sparrow pecking round the root hole. It’s another hot day & I can hear geese in the distance over the nearby lake and the rumble of aircraft overhead from RAF Fairford, training no doubt...

KatyK Mon 26-Aug-19 13:17:44

The sun is out and there is total silence here. I can't even hear any birds.

Just finished lunch in the garden. DH out working in the garden, I'm just about to wash front/back door step. All very quiet in surrounding area, no need for me to put my make-up on to go outside and do chores then - hooray. ?

I am in DD's house having a coffee and looking out of the lounge window. Cyclists going passed and neighbours walking the dog. Sun coming out after a cloudy start, promises to be a lovely afternoon. Cars passing en route to the beach.

MissAdventure Mon 26-Aug-19 12:00:38

It's well into the 30s here.
Too hot to do much (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

EllanVannin Mon 26-Aug-19 11:53:24

Erm, what sun ? We have that cold creepy mist coming from the sea again and I was going to sit out-----some hope ! It'll clear by this afternoon probably.
Very quiet round about not a soul in sight.

Cake in oven, just an ordinary sponge. I'll decide the filling later.

I know Riverwalk and I feel guilty but I have to go into hospital on Monday for an op and it needs to be finished by then. They are being pretty quiet at the moment.

Here in Malaga it’s sunny, people are in the communal pools, children playing on the grass, adults reading in chairs under the palm trees.
? ?

He's jet washing again.

His daughter just came and after seeing her in, he jetwashed the path behind her. grin

That’s a bit anti-social Dragonfly on a bank holiday shock

We are in the depths of rural France, so, nothing just sunshine, greenery, occasionally the French Air Force passing over, very fast, very low, and very noisily, but then peace, the smell of lunch and little household noises as DD and DH potter round, exchanging a few remarks now and again.

shysal Mon 26-Aug-19 10:43:08

Very quiet here, only the sound of birds and one of my cats snoring in the shade.

MissAdventure Mon 26-Aug-19 10:00:39

The man over the road has spent the last hour and a half jet washing the pavement outside his house.
People are strange..

MawB Mon 26-Aug-19 09:57:27

What’s happening?
Absolutely nothing!
Silence, apart from the occasional bird but not a sound of any other sort!

Blackcat3 Mon 26-Aug-19 09:55:58

Birds are singing.

dragonfly46 Mon 26-Aug-19 09:55:01

I am ashamed to say we have got drilling going on in the bathroom and tile cutting outside the front door. I bet the neighbours are hating us but I am so grateful the men are working on the bank holiday. They will be gone by mid afternoon I suspect.

sparrows making a racket - and a hobby calling repeatedly. Distant noise of a chainsaw in the woods the other side of the valley.

tanith Mon 26-Aug-19 09:44:50

Went for an early walk round the local park and fields no one about, now changing the bed and washing floors as I like to leave a clean house and clean sheets on the bed when I come back from my little holiday.
It’s very quiet outside as most of the neighbours are catching up on sleep after a noisy BBQ next door last night. They always do it once a year on Carnival weekend great fun by the sound of it ? but they turn the music down after 11 and off by 12:30 so no complaints here.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 26-Aug-19 09:43:17

The sun's out, it's quiet, no traffic and I've just seen a man walk by with a backpack whilst looking at his mobile phone. I like quiet days, being of a lazy disposition.

PamelaJ1 Mon 26-Aug-19 09:38:07

Charleygirl , I don’t think it’s a bank holiday where BradfordLass lives.

It’s sunny here in my part of the UK, we are having coffee in the conservatory and watching a particularly healthy rabbit foraging under our hedge. It’s on the other side of the fence so it’s safe!

BBbevan Mon 26-Aug-19 09:10:55

Beautiful day here. Crows and seagulls calling and a poor sad dog is howling in the kennels up the road. Otherwise very serene and peaceful.

eazybee Mon 26-Aug-19 08:31:05

The garden is wreathed in mist, and the cotoneaster is draped with cobwebs; it is very quiet because no one is about, not even the birds. The cats have gone back to bed. It promises to be hot later today so I should go out and do some garden tidying now, but it is Bank Holiday.

Marydoll Mon 26-Aug-19 08:17:06

It's very quiet here and I'm loving it.
The building site across the field is so quiet, the workmen must be on holiday. It's bliss!!!
