You’re allowed to keep your cooker and fridge. What other domestic appliance would you keep?
I think mine would be my vacuum cleaner, owing to the canine traffic in this house!

I'm the same as Petra my husband does all the shopping and cooking. I hate cooking.

Like Daddima I need my vacuum cleaner for all the dog hairs,

Who in their right mind, our of all appliances, would choose to keep their IRON?????

Washing machine, yes, as some might say "no brainer" but iron????)))

I regard my computer as a domestic appliance - it's in the house after all.

Without it, I couldn't pay bills, order books from the library to pick up later. I couldn't buy food or indeed anything else I need, from clothing to medication.

Nor could I talk to my good friend in New York every Sunday, or send emails to family and receive links from my son which send me scurrying to TED for the latest talk.

Or to Future Learn to take another fascinating course.

All else I could do without, if I had to, but not my PC.

washing machine - never ever dry my hair with dryer. Shake, tussle and go smile

callgirl1 Thu 12-Sep-19 21:46:31

Washing machine, I hate cooking but it`s a necessary evil.

Maggiemaybe Thu 12-Sep-19 21:50:28

Can we negotiate? I could live without a fridge - we've got a cool cellar with a stone floor. Then perhaps I could swap my washing machine for a washer/dryer, and keep that and the dishwasher.

My hair's going to look a b**gger without a hairdryer though.

Maggiemaybe Thu 12-Sep-19 21:51:46

Though hang on just a cotton-picking minute.....

I'm not losing the telly, am I? shock

MissAdventure Thu 12-Sep-19 22:02:13

You could keep your tv and we could all come round and watch it? smile

Maggiemaybe Thu 12-Sep-19 22:03:04

Agreed. smile As long as I keep control of the remote, of course.

Petra both our DD’s have DH’s who do all the shopping and cooking too, yes, you are all very lucky! envy

lemongrove Thu 12-Sep-19 22:05:14

My hair would look a bugger without the hot styler ?

MissAdventure Thu 12-Sep-19 22:05:19

I could take your smalls home and put them in my machine.
(Knickers, that is, not grandchildren, because they make too much noise in the drum)

lemongrove Thu 12-Sep-19 22:18:56

Just my smalls MissA or everybody’s on here? ?

HettyMaud Thu 12-Sep-19 22:23:50

MissAdventure, I'm with you re the cooking... hate it!
Couldn't do without my electric blanket.

MissAdventure Thu 12-Sep-19 22:29:05

Well, not the people who've kept their washing machines, lemon.

Its a bit much expecting me to do all the smalls!

Patsy70 Thu 12-Sep-19 22:56:48

I can relate to you, Petra, although I still do the cooking (love it!), but the garden is solely my responsibility. OH and I share the shopping, and he also cooks his specialities. I would not be without my washing machine or lawn mower!
