"meal treats" in short supply?

The BBC is running a story about Christmas meal treats being in short supply due to lack of seasonal workers.
The example they give is of "pigs in blankets" which are labour intensive as the bacon has to be wrapped round the sausage by hand.
Do you agree that it is time that we oldies were hired to train the younger generations how to actually prepare their own food?

As an aside, pigs in blankets here are sausages in pastry. they are only slightly different from sausage rolls, by the type of sausage and pastry.
I've never seen sausage wrapped in bacon!

And I think most of the food industry is mechanized; I doubt there are actually people wrapping appetizers. Surely the buy-frozen crowd will find something to serve!

I don't bother with all that stuff.
Just a nice big roast.
