Come on in and take the chaise longue, Daisyboots It's reserved for all our welcome newfound friends. The view through the window is pretty amazing. The sea is crashing on the shore...not that from our front entrance. Thus far, it has never ventured beyond the high tide mark. It has never flooded the road. We are very thankful for small mercies.

(1001 Posts)Here we are again. Happy as can be...all good pals and jolly good company.
Whatever we need to share...feel free to join in.

corner A very interesting post. Mr C's reasoning made me laugh. MacSporran has noted that a very large tree just across from our back fence, is very "rocky" in the gale. He intends to climb the fence (in the good weather) and chop some of down. Don't ask. I have no comment beyond...***!!!***?
dragonfly I'm also hoping that your chemo, once dealt with, will not spoil/disrupt the remainder of your week. You deserve a break.
Synonymous Can I join you for bacon and eggs? Will you have fried bread? Now look what you've gone and done.
NannyTopsy A lazy day it is. There is no point in venturing outside. MacS could barely stand when he went out to feed the birds.
chicken Our Baker knows best. If he prefers Felix - then so be it. MacS was known to show Rory several options when it came to mealtimes. He swore that Rory made his preference perfectly clear.
GrannyGravy Do the sensible thing...relax and spend a cosy safe Sunday indoors.
granniequeenie I agree with Alygran. Your photos are very special. You have a very good eye for capturing a beautiful image.
Baggs Are you doing as us lot suggest? I'm sure that you are being well cared for by Mr B.
Dear ann
kitty Why not write a book about you-know-who? We'll put forward suggestions for an appropriate title.
I’m still in my pj’s - will have a shower soon and put on some clean ones! Not going out so it doesn’t matter! Even took my porridge back to bed this morning. So decadent! Why not eh?
The storm seems to have passed by now, it was full force a couple of hours ago.
Had a nice leisurely catch up telephone conversation with a friend in Idle, near Bradford.
Did you know there’s an Idle Workingman’s Club?
Not a lot of people know that - as Eric would say to Ernie!
Urmstongran
I have porridge almost every day topped with blueberries. Would love eggs and bacon and fried bread...in my dreams.
Did you know there’s an Idle Workingman’s Club?

soop according to Himself you can't have bacon etc without fried bread! As Himself uses all the pots, pans snd utensils would it be alright if he comes and uses the kitchen? There will be loads for everyone as he is very generous! And loads of washing up to get stuck into as well!
Gosh I remember the Great Storm! Only too well.
Apparently while I was at work my neighbour saw our rabbit hutch actually lift into the air and rushed round to take it into the safety of our garage. (No locked gardens or garages in our village in those days)
I remember trees coming down across the road into the village along with much of a long wall round the Manor House
It was amazing nobody was injured.
Synonymous it sounds wonderful. I haven't had fried bread for ages.
Disappointing to miss your lunch out though.
Love the Idle Workingman's club Urmston!
Battled my way down to Marks and Spencer this morning to pick up some skirts I had ordered and I absolutely hate them! They will have to wait until I have the energy to take them back though. At least I managed to stock up on food for the week.
Lots of wind and rain here but so far everything is still upright.
I do hope you managed to keep all your menfolk off the ladders ladies. Fortunately my DH has no inclination to climb a ladder.
dragonfly MacS has a "thing" for ladders.
Maw I slept through that big storm. The following morning, on looking through the window, I was confronted with a disaster area.
Synonymous Tell Himself that he is very welcome to use our kitchen. I shall find a big striped pinny for him. No need for washing up. We'll virtually ignore them.
chicken MacS suggests that, in the likely event of Baker wanting a change from Felix, you cannot go far wrong offering him mashed tinned tuna (in spring water). Apparently, our Rory favoured it when other stuff bored him.
I like mashed tuna in spring water too soop. I could pop round later if MacS has any going spare
Doodle You are most welcome. Apart from umpteen tins of tuna in spring water, MacSporran also has been stockpiling loo rolls. He mutters something along the lines about it being a wise move after Brexit!
I have explained to moaning Minnie many times why she cannot go out today but she does not listen. I have been watching recorded programmes on TV and then she is quiet but if I make a coffee or whatever she is moaning again.
The covering on my neighbour's shed roof has almost flown away but considering the shed (mini aircraft carrier in a tiny garden) has not been touched since erected in 2009 I have no sympathies. The house is permanently rented- a pity the revolting mattresses did not fly away.
Pleased to hear that Smokie and Baker are slowly getting better.

Charleyg Moaning Minnie is doing what any self respecting cat does...she is letting you know that she is the most important being in your household. Get used to it.
Really? Are there revolting mattresses dumped in your eyesight? I would complain to the council. They are a health wotsit and an eyesore that no one should have to put up with.
Goodness gracious me! The ferry is operating. I bet it's mighty rough out there on the high seas.
So far, so good. Hopefully our power supply will be man enough to weather this storm.
By the by...you know that tooth that is giving me a lot of trouble? A further piece broke off last night. Which means that I shall need to return to the dentist who put cement stuff on it recently. I am, in a word, terrified. She will hit it with a metal hammer and blow cold air into the new cavity. I haven't yet recovered from the shock of last treatment.
TOYA. Stay warm and safe. Until tomorrow.

soop--please thank MacS for the suggestion of tuna in spring water. I'll have to try Waitrose as Lidl's only do tuna in brine or oil which wouldn't do Himself much good. Himself was another moaning Minnie this morning but he's having a lovely snooze on the bed right now. He's still sneezing and coughing like a good'un but is eating much better.
It's still pretty rough here and the lights have been flickering. I well remember the hurricane---having slept through it all, I couldn't understand why there was so much white outside the windows, then realised it was the insides of trees that had broken off halfway down. We were without electricity for 13 days.
Its pretty scary here as the wind has changed direction and our little bit of shelter has disappeared. The conservatory sounds like a ship in full sail, I just hope it remembers we need the roof
.
Oh soop, what a buggerration. Please tell the dentist we all want her to be gentle. You'd think Tara would understand charley, guess you can't wear ear plugs and listen to the tv.
Oh, fried bread. Mr C would love some if there's any going spare. I'll get in the queue for the tuna, I truly think we share little in our food likes and dislikes, makes catering challenging at times.
Best get on with our meal, it seems listening to the storm has made Mr C hungry. Me? I could wait as I'm still full from scrambled egg at breakfast unless anyone is offering me chocolate
.
TOYA and please be careful everyone, its no fun outside.
Still windy here but nowhere near as bad as it was. We have blue skies again too! The birds have started to appear, searching for some supper. I do love to see a stormy sea Soop. I spend ages taking pretty awful photos!
TOYA
soop---what a buggeration having that tooth break off again. I can remember having that puff of air in the hole. OUCH!!!. Thank heaven mine are all implants now.
Hoping the storm dies down soon.TOYA
Tooth ache the hell of all diseases a Robert Burns poem soop as I remember from school, living in Ayrshire as a child it was taught until you were scunnerd of it .
soop you can tell MacS I use a lot of toilet rolls too
. So if we run out I know where to come for my tuna and toilet supplies
soop the council is not interested re the rotting mattresses and if I informed the landlord he is not allowed to do impromptu inspections, unfortunately.
I am not a fan of tuna so anybody can have my share. I also stock up with loo rolls- sometimes I order extra to make up the amount the store will deliver. Other times bargain Annie has ordered them when the offer is too good to refuse. knowing eventually they will be used. I am Scottish.
Tara settled down around 8 pm and has slumbered on the back of my chair since but no doubt once I start to get ready for bed etc. She may try her luck once more.
TOYA
Thank you for the welcome Synonymous GrannyGravy13 and chicken
The reason for my name is some years ago flowery wellington boots were all the rage but my calves were too fat for them.
Thank you Soop I will gratefully take the chaise longue as it will help my painful back no end.
Hello all!
Sorry to read about your shoulder Baggs, hope you`re not suffering too much.
Well, I never made it to the Strictly tour at the O2, due to Lynne having a troublesome arm that we thought may be broken, so we ended up at the hospital for the day. My other 2 daughters went to London, but a bit later than planned, as they kept us company in A&E for a while. I`m still regretting the waste of my £64 ticket, not helped by Dawn ringing to say they were in the hotel bar with some of the Strictly crowd, staying at their hotel. Then she rang this afternoon to tell me what great seats they had! I felt like crying, lol!
Posted accidentally then!
Soop, I don`t envy you your trip to the sadistic dentist. And keep MacS off that flipping tree!!
