I can't think of any particular women who are charismatic but do want to mention a very charismatic man who is now not with us sadly - Terry Wogan. I've loved him since I first heard him on the radio when I was a very young mum at home with a baby.

I agree about Joanna Lumley.
But to me charisma means someone who speaks to you, and looks at you trying to influence you to do something which might be against your will or nature.
Sorry to mention it, but I think Hitler must have had it.
And our female collie definitely had it .

Joanna Lumley is the only one I can think of in terms of charisma although over Christmas DGD1 (the family fashionista) asked me who was my style icon.

I said it was a toss up between Joana Lumley and Xa, Lady Tollemache. I then chuckled as she grabbed her phone and started googling.

I suppose Hitler was charismatic and Erdogan is the same, so many people under their spells but not nice people. Can't think of any women though.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the US politician, spoke at a rally for Bernie Sanders a couple of days ago. Once you start watching, you are drawn in by her passion to support the poor and vulnerable, and can't stop watching - real old-school oratory. To me, that is charisma.

When I hear the word charisma alarm bells ring. I have just watched a programme about the Jones Town massacre and listed to a podcast on the Branch Davidians at Waco. Jim Jones and David Koresh were very charismatic and managed to kill about 1200 people between them. So was Adolf Hitler for that matter.

In my view, if anyone's magnetic personality is getting between you and your sense - run!

Cant think of a woman with charisma. Those who said Adolf Hitler were right. I am a war history buff and watch a lot of documentaries about the second WW. To see all those thousands of Germans idolising a mad weirdo like Hitler makes you realise he did have charisma in bucket fulls. The Germans were intelligent people and how else would they have fallen under his spell? He wouldn't have got far if he had been English.
