The other day we were thinking about what makes a person charismatic. We could think of several men - some of whom I don’t like although I can still accept that they have charisma . But when it came to women I was stuck.
Who do you think is charismatic ? Can you think of a woman who fits this description ?

Carol Klein.
Joanna Lumley.
Richard Burton.
Henry Cole of The World's Greatest Motorcyle Journeys. I could watch him again and again.
The man who works in my local library.
Joan Collins.

@ Annaram1
There were plenty of upper class english people who thought Hitler was great.
I've got an obsession with WW2 as well.

I remember I met Karl Howman an actor I liked from Brush Strokes. He did say he would bring a signed photo next time he was in the gym I worked. That never happened in fact he didn't like to talking to anyone. Zero charisma.
Another dream came true when I got to see Diana Ross in concert only for her to cut her set short because someone was filming her

Terry Wogan for me as well.
I agree about Princess Diana, although I didn't particularly like her she was definitely charismatic.

Rufus Sewell when he was playing Lord M in Victoria.

I couldn't take my eyes off him blush

I think charisma is something you have to experience first hand. I don't think you can 'feel' someone's charisma through television, for example. Live theatre maybe.

Someone I did meet - Rudolf Nureyev. Charismatic on or offstage.

I agree with pretty well everyone on Nortsat's list, and would add Michelle Obama. I met Princess Di once...very sad, not remotely charismatic, imo.

How many more times.
Diana, Princess of Wales, NOT Princess Diana.
She never was and never would be.

optimist Thu 13-Feb-20 13:59:54

Jude Kelly. Jenny Murray.

Lucylastic Thu 13-Feb-20 14:01:43

Eazybee, what difference does it make?
And who gives a damn anyway?

Kitty
Is there not a thread where you don't mention the beautiful man ?
No ones mentioned the love of my life: Steve McQueen.
Having said that, I always had a feeling that he'd be as dull as dishwater in real life. ?
