Remember yoghurt in the old days?

I was just watching the new muller yoghurt advert where it seems to be more sugary toppings than yoghurt. It led me to remember my first yoghurt experience. It was 1968 and I had just come back to England from Singapore and I had never had yoghurt before. My mum wouldn’t let me have one but my grandma hid one in the pantry for me. It was raspberry and very sour so I only sneaked one finger full at a time. I remember it vividly. Do any of you have similar memories?

I remember my Gran eating natural yoghurt (early 60s) which I thought tasted awful, though I loved the Ski Bilberry yoghurt in the churn shaped tubs. In the 80s, my DDs loved the Mr Men yogurts, especially the chocolate flavour. I am still recycling the pots all these years later for potting seedlings!

It was a Ski yoghurt at the Horse of the Year show .
I can't remember the flavour .
I didn't like the first taste .
Later , I really loved hazelnut yoghurts .
I'd eat one or two a day .
No one else liked them so they'd stay in the fridge .

These days , I buy plain yoghurt and add vanilla or fruit to it as I find the commercial ones far too sweet .
