That's Nice or is it Marvellous, Brilliant, Kind, Comforting, Pretty ....?

toscalily I’m normally a ‘nice’ person , but today I’m feeling a bit snippy.....

Must be the weather, I feel the same.

Yes we too were to,d to not use nice as it was lazy and there were a lot better word I m sure I still use it though

I'm not so much bothered by 'nice' but to my DGSs the only adjective is 'awesome' which drives me nuts!

Most older people were told to use ‘nice’ sparingly when in school.....but so wot!
Nice had a different meaning two hundred years ago, but again...so wot!
It’s better than using OTT words to describe enjoying a scone and cuppa for instance.?

Goodness, I stopped worrying about what teacher would think about 40 years ago. Nice is a useful word, covers a lot of situations perfectly.

I think nice is quite a nice word, actually. It has its uses but it’s nice to use another adjective from time to time.

Nothing wrong with using the word 'nice'. There are situations where it is the right word.

It's original meaning was 'precise' as in 'a nice difference' or 'nice and tidy'

I might add it these sweeping statements are the lazy thinking. nt the ability to know when and when not to use a word.

I like 'nice' very much, and I have never been told not to use it, so I have been, to describe all sorts of vaguely pleasant things.

I expect we were all told at school that the word "nice" is unimaginative and bland. I use it sometimes though and think there are far more irritating words - "awesome", for example.

I like the word nice.

But not Nice biscuits. Never did.
