Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but with a grey sky and dry ground here in Brackley.
Yesterday, functioned as normal despite seeing numerous products no longer on the supermarket shelves.
But I carried on as normal , met and spoke to others I knew .
Today , no cycling on TV only repeats of past races.

Good morning everyone for grey (sky) Swindon

mostly a very uplifting thread here.. Prayers for those who need them, well I tend to say we all need prayers, but you know what I mean

I think the media is winding this up, now for us to ignore a lot of it... I have been confined for 8 days, live alone, tummy bug,, clearing now... so I will not be confined for 4 months

Actually I am surprised that I survived it as I can panic at times..

so here`s to all of us here.. and thank goodness we can chat and share here.

Good morning from the NE coast where it is very windy.

On a happy note I have finally finished Evie’s big girls room and just wanted to share a picture with you. She absolutely loves it smile

On a miserable note I just a had a nasty argument with my sister on the phone (at 9am on a Sunday morning ) . I can’t believe some of the things she said and I am so upset.

On another miserable note I am very worried about the future with the Coronavirus outbreak. I listened to 2 so called experts on the news last night both with conflicting views on how to stop the spread.

I managed to get my dad a fair bit of shopping on Friday which will see him okay for about a week but I didn’t get anything much for myself and there are no toilet rolls to be had anywhere. We only have a tiny freezer and probably have enough food to make 2 or 3 meals with at most.

Why are some people so damned selfish? I just don’t get it .

Thinking about you Urmstongran and anyone else scared or worried . What a world . sad

Good morning everyone.
I think a brisk walk on the beach is in order today.

mancgirl Sun 15-Mar-20 10:01:57

gillybob what a lovely room you have created! She won't want to leave it. You really are a talented lady. You have so much on your plate and yet you find time do this, do your dad's shopping and go to "that place". I'm full of admiration. Hope you and Mr Gilly get on track soon. ?

gillybob Sun 15-Mar-20 10:11:21

Thank you mancgirl and vena11 smile

It’s such a sweet little room and she can now reach her little books herself which was the main brief from DD . She’s only 22 months but loves her books . Looking out for a nice rug just to finish it all off .

Marydoll so sorry to hear that the wedding plans are constantly changing. Take care of your cough.

Hello to GNers everywhere ??
My morning run went well and afterwards, had tea and freshly made croque monsieur (minus the ham) with one of the residents in Lower Town ?
Flying home tomorrow and I note on their website, that every precaution has been taken by the heli crew regarding hygiene standards. Anyway, it's only a short hop and my OH said he is driving down to save me getting the train back, a quite unexpected offer.
For now, I'm sanguine about the availabity of food and certain staples but I won't starve.
Worry does no good at all and won't alter a thing.
I think every conversation for the next several months, will be threaded with the C-19 situation. hmm so I'm determined to look for positives.
I feel for everyone under the weather or anxious but also hope that you can somehow find some light relief in the days and weeks ahead.
Good wishes to all ??

Well done you Gillybob, that's a smashing job you've done and most little girls would love a bedroom like that. Evie will be delighted, bless her. x
Considering you have to do everything for everybody the way you've fitted this job in is nothing short of a miracle.
You need to look after yourself though and rest when you can---if you can to conserve energy for the forthcoming months ahead as none of us know what we're going to face, it's the unknown at the moment.

Susan56 Sun 15-Mar-20 10:37:06

Love the room gilly.
I’m sorry your sister was vile to you?
I totally agree with you re the selfish people buying everything. My daughter was telling me her friend is unable to buy formula for her baby and there was an old couple in the supermarket buying the ready made up baby formula in case they can’t get milk?
#bekind didn’t last long.

GabriellaG54 Sun 15-Mar-20 10:38:37

Gillybob
Evie's room looks wonderful. You are one amazing woman, always doing things for other people at a massive cost to yourself in terms of time, money and your health.
I really do admire you. ???
The tiny shoes by the side of the cot look so sweet. It's hard to think my AC ever fitted into anything that size.

Urmstongran
Thinking of you and hoping you can cope with the current crisis. It's good to hear that you have food stores nearby and you and Mr U have no health issues to add to what must be an anxious situation. ???x

Doorstop Sun 15-Mar-20 10:40:48

Awe, Thankyou gillybob, your little girls bedroom is gorgeous. Other half painting the hall at the moment, I am on tea making duty!

GabriellaG54 Sun 15-Mar-20 10:41:04

And a very warm welcome to you Doorstop ???

gillybob Sun 15-Mar-20 10:44:18

My DD has been struggling to get baby milk too Susan56 . At 22 months Evie really only has a bottle for bed ( with her cuddle and story) but I can’t believe ( well actually I can) that anyone could be so selfish as to buy it for their cup of tea ! A rather expensive cup as well . Some people never cease to amaze me. angry

GabriellaG54 Sun 15-Mar-20 10:49:46

Thank you Gillybob ?
I've been following your harrowing journey re your DH's and your own health and I'm absolutely stunned at your resilience and unselfish attitude when loaded with requests for childcare and shopping for your father etc...
I couldn't come close. You're a ⭐

gillybob Sun 15-Mar-20 10:50:00

I’ve put some stick on safety mirrors to the left of the cot ( pinched the idea from Ikea) so she can watch herself dancing and being generally silly . She put her little shoes in front of the mirror and was delighted to see another pair exactly the same . She then brought teddies and dollies to see if it worked on them too . grin

Good morning everyone, been up since silly o’clock, 0530! Why I ask myself. Was a bit gray and wet this morning! But it’s cleared up, lovely blue skies and sun. Just taking it easy really, I’m in the vulnerable group, over 75, asthmatic, Diabetic and coeliac!
Went shopping yesterday, all normal. I’m on the Isle of Man, lots of banter at the checkout with anyone who’s buying loo rolls, lol.
Although I live close to the beach, think I’ll just stay inside, they say the dreaded lurgi is not here yet, but, ........

Have a wonderful day everyone, stay safe, be well.
