GrannyGravy13 Sat 18-Apr-20 12:37:08

Update on skinny jeans I have them on, zipper and button done up.......a bonus is not only can I breath but move also ???

Charleygirl5 Sat 18-Apr-20 12:11:07

Doodle by not using your hoover, think of the electricity you must be saving.

I received a package from Amazon today- a whole week early. It is heavy duty weed killer - a pity I cannot try it out.

Galen M&S standards are definitley slipping- one should expect 3 years wear at least.

Purplepixie I like your style (^and the goodies that you are sharing with us lot^)

anno We have another cloudless sky and that means...ta dah..another afternoon enjoying what tasks remain in the garden. I'm on a roll. I actually look forward to the prospect of grovelling around on my hands and knees. I like getting dirty. I enjoy having a late afternoon shower and readying myself for a long and lazy evening. Crazy lady! Me...not you.

callgirl1 I shall include last night's Kintyre sunset as a soothing balm for your ruffled senses.

CherryCezzy Us lot are pleased to have you back. There are times when a break is the right thing to do. Settle down and I'll make you a virtual brew and hunt around for a delicious cupcake flowers

Charleygirl Our Tara is an enigma. Most felines fit into that category. That's why we love them.

Susan A gentle virtual hug for Little Henry . sunshine

Galen Sat 18-Apr-20 11:41:36

Ps. This was only going to be the third time I’d worn them.

Galen Sat 18-Apr-20 11:40:50

We have a cat round here who rather than annoying my frogs, catches and eats them!?
It wasn’t around this year and consequently I’ve a million tadpoles. ( Gary assures me he’s counted every one!)
I’m cross as my tomato plants arrived from TandM badly packed and after a long time in transit——- dead and broken.
No tomatoes for the Galen house this summer!
We’ve complained to the firm but no results yet
To crown everything when I went to get my M&S expensive knickers out of the drawer, the elastic had parted from the body! Another complaint on the way.
I’m starting to feel this is not my week

GrannyGravy13 Sat 18-Apr-20 11:30:34

Hello kitcheners, I have been pottering round the house basically busy doing nothing so I have only just had my shower and hair wash, I am now looking at my skinny jeans contemplating wearing them, will they do up I wonder???

No idea what I shall do for the rest of the day, I might be slothful sit in a chair and read!!

Keep safe and well folks ?

Purplepixie Sat 18-Apr-20 11:14:14

Good morning all on this wet and dismal Saturday, or is it another day, I lose count of the days.

It’s my grand daughters birthday tomorrow and I wont see her except on the WhatsApp thingy. There is so many things being missed this year and I need to head for the kitchen to do some more baking.

I think a bacon quiche and a cherry loaf for today.

Stay well and safe and I’ll pop back later with the whisky hot toddies as usual.
Lots of love to you all x

annodomini Sat 18-Apr-20 10:38:36

Bedding plants - that reminds me. Usually at this time, the PTA of a local primary school send out a flyer for us to order plants that they sell for school funds. They are always of very good quality. But - this year, no flyer has arrived and garden centres are all closed. Mail order - needs must, I suppose.
Yesterday, I tried to get a trowel into a border and it was like concrete. What has happened to all that rain we had only a month or so ago?

Smileless2012 Sat 18-Apr-20 10:07:29

Morning everyone.

A bit overcast here today and a chilly breeze. Not sure if it's worth putting washing on the line to dry or nothmm. Perhaps I'll just out the towels in the dryer and the rest out to dry.

I had the same thought Bellannona about Charleygirl putting a little camera on Tara's collar. Think of the interesting footage you could get Charleygirl and if Tara's film career takes off and Dylan becomes a successful model, we could have a couple of animal celebs on our handsgrin.

Cherryflowers

Mr. S. has a delivery of bedding plants coming in Monday Maw; he's thrilled. We didn't think any of our local garden centres were delivering but it looks as if they were waiting for the plants to be ready.

I don't blame you for having a moan callgirl it must be very frustrating when you don't get everything you've ordered. I hate having to go to Aldi but at least I can go.

I have a friend whose shopping on line and click and collect. She's not vulnerable because of her age or health, just doesn't want to have to go out. It does annoy me when those of you who have no choice can't get what you want when there are some who could ease the pressure by getting their own shoppingangry.

I'm intrigued Grandmafrench what do your cats do to annoy the frogs?

Poor Henrysadit must be very worrying for you all Susanflowers.

Just noticed that it's brightening up here nowsmile.

Have a good day everyone TOYA.

Grandmafrench Fri 17-Apr-20 21:48:39

No wonder you were annoyed.....looks like Asda has a very 'interesting' version of "Click & Collect".

callgirl1 Fri 17-Apr-20 21:44:27

Evening all. I`ve been missing for a couple of days. Tuesday I had a click and collect booked at Asda, then when I got the email summarising what was coming I got a shock that lasted all day, more than half my list was missing! Dawn went to collect it in the evening, but before picking it up she went into the store, and everything that they`d listed as unavailable was there, apart from eggs. So all Tuesday was spent grumbling about that. What`s the point of telling us to isolate and order our shopping online if the blinking supermarket hasn`t got most of it? Right, I`ll stop moaning now.
I hope everyone who`s been down or poorly is on the up now, hopefully little Henry will soon be sorted out, hate to think of babies being poorly.
Soop, nice to hear that your garden is looking much better, but please don`t overdo it all, we need you fit as a fiddle to keep us all in line. Heaven help that woman from down south if you should bump into her, but it would serve her right, selfish so and so.
TOYA

Grandmafrench Fri 17-Apr-20 20:09:10

She's no mystery - she's obviously related to Six Dinner Syd.
Mine are currently outside "annoying" frogs !

Doodle Fri 17-Apr-20 20:08:24

For a minute there maw my dyslexic brain read “no where near ready to take our foot off the pedal Toyota ?”

MawB Fri 17-Apr-20 20:02:16

Hard to explain my pleasure to be looking out on a gentle steady drizzle! Except that I have had a delivery of border plants from Beth Chatto and also my local.nursery (which I has given up on!) and the ground was brick hard today. So I have left the pots out hoping for a good soaking overnight and softer soil when I go to plant them either tomorrow or Sunday depending on the weather. Such an exciting day - an Ocado delivery and then the others. It felt positively social!
I hope everybody is feeling and keeping as well as expected. Despite the depressing figures yesterday and tomorrow I am relieved that the lockdown has been extended as I dont think we are anywhere near ready to take our foot off the pedal.
TOYA

Bellanonna Fri 17-Apr-20 19:49:18

Charleygirl I think you’ll have to attach a camera to that young lady’s person somehow. She is a mystery!

CherryCezzy Fri 17-Apr-20 19:44:41

Hello kitcheners, it's been about two weeks since I last visited you lovely people. I think I did actually 'crash and burn' after my friend died after all and stayed away as a result. I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't even kept up with all that's being on and how everyone is doing. I do hope all of you are doing as well as can be.
I'm just going to leave a cheesecake (not home made) on the side for you all to enjoy this evening.
I just wanted to let you all know that I am ( even though I haven't kept up) TOYA ❤️

Doodle Fri 17-Apr-20 19:38:52

When you find out how your hoover works charley please......don’t tell me ?. Good tip about the fridge shelves. Never thought of that.

Charleygirl5 Fri 17-Apr-20 19:11:44

Tara has just arrived home- it is raining outside and has been for ages but she is dry as a bone! How? I need a lesson or two.

I drove to Waitrose my nearest, the queue was ridiculously long.. Then to a largish Sainsburys, ditto so I ended up at Lidl, queueing there for 15 minutes. There were too many people inside. It is the second time I have been there so I am
unfamiliar where goods are stocked.

Heaps of kitchen towels and loo rolls and I even found UHT semi-skimmed milk which is all I drink in coffee. I was amazed at how cheap my bill was although I could not find items such as tinned tomatoes or butter. In better times I would like to return, so much cheaper.

soop I know you are splitting up your gardening times but please do not overdo it.

GrannyGravy if you are thinking of cleaning your fridge- my easy method is to take out shelves and leave them until they reach room temperature (so they do not crack), then I fit what I can in my dishwasher- an excellent result and little work done by me.

I have to find out how my hoover works tomorrow I think. Luckily I have one up and downstairs.

Thank you soop and susan. My wobbles are all about family and their troubles and worries. In myself I am fine, I just worry about them. Hope everyone is ok.
galen how about you? Are you around anywhere?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 17-Apr-20 18:42:59

Thinking of young Henry and other poorly kitcheners (human and pets).

I have cleaned my range and it is sparkling........so it’s a takeaway this evening as I do not want to dirty it?

Keep safe and well, nightie night ?‍♀️

Susan56 Fri 17-Apr-20 18:24:28

Thank you Doodle.Henry has had another bad reaction earlier today but seems to have recovered now.Just wish he could have the tests he needs.
Hope you are feeling better after your wobble,it’s such a difficult time.I find I have moments of anxiety for my family most days so have started writing a list each evening of things to keep me busy and to stop my mind going into overdrive.
Smileless???
Thinking of you all.x

soop Fri 17-Apr-20 17:28:12

Nannytopsy I bags a goodly size portion of your toad in the hole with onion gravy. grin

First things first...a goodly shower...a goodly change of clothing...and a goodly feet up session. Another three hours of gardening done. All the back wild garden can now be navigated without fear of tripping over debris or being snarled on wicked brambles. Chuffed and knackered in equal measure.

Log off time for today. I shall return tomorrow. I wish you peace and the grit that is essential to weather this buggeration that continues to blight our lives.

Thinking of you ALL. smile moon

Doodle Bundles of good vibes from me in Kintyre. Chin up! You can do it. We can do it. flowers

Doodle Fri 17-Apr-20 14:12:08

Hello all. Thank you for telling us about your cats smileless. Such a shame you lost one. Dylan is lucky to have you to look after him so well.

dragonfly I think I read on the GM thread that you managed to get some drops in Dexter’s poorly eye. I do hope so. It must be such a worry for you.

What a nice gift Carillion. Glad it arrived safely and on time.
susan sorry Henry had a problem with vegetables. Hope he is ok now.

I think there are quite a few wobbles around at the moment, me 8ncluded. Not being allowed out is causing problems for lots of people financial and other worries. Thinking of you all and wishing you to keep safe ?
