Hello lovely Kitcheners. Playing catch up, have been reading all the posts but am suffering brain faze (something!) so sorry can't remember everything I've read, blush.
Thanks for your best wishes Susan. I really hope Henry's new medication will be fully successful ?.
Grandmafrench I am back to my "chirpy, chirpy, cheep cheep" self ?. It's a bit like coming home!
What a horrible thing to happen Callgirl, hope you have been provided with good pain control and they don't have to operate ?????
Good news Dreamkeeper ?
NanaandGrampy, those texts remind me of the Only fools and horses sketch when Dellboy was asked (the sex) what the baby was and he said "it's a baby" ?. In truth, yes one ought to (and needs to) know but it doesn't matter in the scheme of things - what matters is that the baby is healthy and loved.
soop, again those sunsets are to die for and you capture them so wonderfully ☺️. Previous injury could be a factor with your current hip issue. I sometimes experience that myself but they do settle. Look after yourself young lady, no more gardening until you have recovered! ?
I might not pop back in today but I've left some Irish whiskey and some filter coffee on the worktop so help yourselves.

Mr C is in no need of tlc today soop. There was, shall we say, an incident with ketchup at lunch time not involving him in any way. I can’t think why he’s still grinning several hours later confused.

soop Sat 25-Apr-20 17:07:59

Grandmafrench I couldn't agree with you more. Let's all make merry and pretend it's for real...cupcake wine sunshine blah blah and oopsadaisy!

soop Sat 25-Apr-20 17:19:17

corner Us lot like Mr C...he sounds so normal. wink

CherryCezzy If you are back to your "chirpy chirpy cheep cheep" self, I am indeed a happy bunny.

There was a minor upset in the garden. I was bending over the border with a rake thingy, when the wheel barrow, heaped high with an afternoon's debris, tipped over and the handle wacked me just above my eye. The debris was duly cleared by dear MacS. I supervised. I have a large egg-shape bruise and a bit of a thick head. Someone once said that gardens are dangerous places. I second that. Buggerations! That's what I shouted out. Truthfully...it was a far worse expletive.

I continue to think of you all. The sun continues to shine. The sea sparkles. I'm ready for a big wash and brush up. Later...a refreshing G&T with a slice of lime.

Farewell for now. Back again in the morning. smile moon

soop Sat 25-Apr-20 17:22:32

Almost forgot...this was taken last night.

GrannyOwl5 Sat 25-Apr-20 17:37:52

My goodness me! What a lot of accidents, bumps and bruises. Do take good care of yourselves; I’m just getting to know you all so don’t want anything to happen to you.
A beautiful evening here in Kent made even better with a small glass of red - have replenished those offerings I brought yesterday. Glad to see you all made good use of my provisions!

Nannytopsy Sat 25-Apr-20 19:04:23

Evening all! Soop what a thing to happen! I hope the bump goes down. Kitty I do hope you feel better soon.
GrannyOwl welcome to the kitchen - you’ll fit right in! ?
Another 8’x4’ space cleared for the next veg bed - hell’s bells that one was hard work! Dry, compacted and very stony. We never expected to finish this garden quickly.
I have showered, done the hair and put my face on, ready for our 9 o’clock Zoom family quiz. Our round is on drinks! (Hic!!)
Now be careful out there!

Susan56 Sat 25-Apr-20 19:15:08

Smileless,I am chuckling to myself at the thought of you and Matilda singing your hearts out while bathing Dylan!
Soop, another beautiful sunset.I am getting quite envious of all you lovely kitcheners who live by the sea.Hope you are recovered from your upset in the garden, maybe a day off gardening tomorrow.
Some of these cakes and other goodies you are all baking sound delicious?
Have a good evening everyone and thinking of you all.x

dizzyblonde Sat 25-Apr-20 20:05:41

Talking of trips, slips and stumbles I got tangled with one of the dogs today and measured my length on the patio. Grazed hands and knees plus sore pulled muscles in my shoulder. I always was clumsy, my Mother used to say every time she put me in a new pair of tights I’d fall over and ruin them. She used to threaten me with going back in a pushchair.

Doodle Sat 25-Apr-20 21:41:54

Wow. I can’t believe how many posts there have been since yesterday. I’d better get reading ?
Oh my goodness callgirl that’s awful. What a shock for you.
I hope you’re not in a lot of pain. Take care.
feelingmyage it’s so frustrating isn’t it when you keep trying but can’t get a slot. Hope you manage to get something soon.
Nice to see you back with us corner ? and you too ann
smileless Dylan is a lucky puss. Have you thought of singing in the rain if you give him a shower ?
Glad your eyes are feeling better grandmafrench .
soop I have threatened to wrap you up in cotton wool before. Now you’ve gone and had another whack. Those garden tools are dangerous things especially when they contrive between them to attack you. McSporran needs to have serious words with the wheelbarrow and the rake! ?
Lovely sunset though.
Hello Grannyowl don’t think we’ve met before. Welcome to the lovely kitchen.
Nanytopsy if you need any help with your drinks round, you know where to find me ?
Oh dizzy not you too. Hope you’re not badly hurt. Is your DH feeling better?
Take care all TOYA ?

dizzyblonde Sat 25-Apr-20 22:28:34

@Doodle He’s never been really ill, just mild cold symptoms. I was shocked to find out he was positive, as was he.

Doodle Sat 25-Apr-20 22:30:40

That’s good dizzy. ?

Grandmafrench Sat 25-Apr-20 22:42:13

If this carries on, there’ll only be 2 people left in the Kitchen.....*grannyowl and Dylan?

What part of Keep Safe do you people not understand? dizzy hope you’ll be pain free tomorrow.....and soop what can I say? You’re turning into victim of the day ?. When we lived in Normandy, if things went wrong we sometimes made jokes about Norman wisdom - or the lack of it! I think you must be the actual Norman Wisdom, soop. We shall wait to hear of poor MacS’s surprise and delight when you spin around and carry a ladder across his path, taking the poor chap’s legs from under him.?‍♂️ It’s going to happen, if this trend continues, so we must hope for a calm Sabbath tomorrow - or some rain to keep you away from garden machinery. Think on !
Off to bed with some drinking chocolate, sleep well all....you too, Doodle x

callgirl1 Sun 26-Apr-20 01:01:18

Thank you all for all your lovely get well messages. That superglue idea sounds great, if I get a chance I will ask about it. And Soop, please thank MacSporran, your wonderful man, for his good wishes, they mean a lot xx
Jenny went to Tesco to do my big shop today, but not until after a 2 and a half hour battle and the helpful contributions of 4 people in getting her car started!
SOOP!! Please take yourself out of harms way, if only for a day or two, poor MacS must be on edge every time you step outside!
Daughter 2 collected all my washing yesterday, and today, daughter 3 collected it from HER in order to iron it. They`re all spoiling me, I could get used to it!

dragonfly46 Sun 26-Apr-20 09:27:46

Reading about all the tumbles I thing you lot should tie yourselves to a chair today!

I hope you all feel better soon.
TOYA

Charleygirl5 Sun 26-Apr-20 10:09:06

Grandmafrench I would add Hattie and Tara to that list because they are sleeping their lives away and enjoying every minute.

Re my neighbours- I have not said anything- it is mainly self-preservation- five of them to one of me.

The youngsters piled into the car last night and spun off. Well, it was Saturday evening and that is the time for enjoyment I believe. I suppose they would be meeting with friends elsewhere for a change.

The sun is shining here and I am still washing anything and everything.

I agree, I would tie many of you lot to a chair or make you stay in bed, less mischief.

tanith Sun 26-Apr-20 11:35:53

Good Sunday morning everyone I can’t believe all bumps and falls in the kitchen I hope all are now healing and resting up.
Four idiots were playing golf this morning when I was out for my walk today I could kick myself that I didn’t phone the local police to warn them off what idiots.
Well my garden and house are tidy and I’m flummoxed as to what I can entertain myself with today I’m finding filling my days harder and harder and I’m a bit fed up even with reading. Sorry I shouldn’t moan at least I’m not sick unlike many others.
I wish you all a good day.

soop Sun 26-Apr-20 11:46:18

hmm The damage a wheelbarrow handle can do when it tips and whacks one on the forehead.

tanith Sun 26-Apr-20 11:48:43

Ooh! That looks painful Soop the things we do to ourselves ?

soop Sun 26-Apr-20 12:01:52

Dear tanith You've done your very best thus far. Enjoy your achievements. Sit in your garden and let the fresh air soothe you. You don't have to be non-stop busy. flowers

callgirl1 You are worth spoiling. We both says so. smile

Ha! Grandmafrench, I am almost over cautious whenever I step outside our home. I know how unsteady I am and I do watch my step. The moles (bless them) have tunneled under our lawn and as a result the ground is undulating. Even a few paving slabs are a wee bit uneven. To be honest, I am terrified of tumbling. On the other hand, or foot, I must make an effort to remain active. After a couple of hours gardening, I feel rejuvenated.

Here is last night's sky for you all to enjoy. Also, this morning's view of the island of Jura.

cornergran Sun 26-Apr-20 12:06:18

That’s an ouchie soop as our Littlest would say. Hope it doesn’t hurt too much.

soop Sun 26-Apr-20 12:12:10

dizzyblonde Another ouchie moment. Apart from the grazes and pulled muscles, there is the shock to your system to take into account. Try to take things easy today.
I'm pleased to hear that your husband is on the mend. Such a worry for you both. sunshine

nannytopsy You've plastered a grin on my face. I also agree that GrannyOwl5 has climed the ranks at break-neck speed. She's a very friendly lady. smile

GrannyGravy13 Sun 26-Apr-20 12:29:09

Oh dear soop please be careful ???

soop Sun 26-Apr-20 12:32:02

GrannyGravy Enjoy your day. sunshine

Carillion01 Sun 26-Apr-20 12:54:09

soop, I'm so sorry about your injury. Sending you a Brie cheese scone just out of the oven, topped with aubergine 'caviar'! Xxx??
Please do look after yourself.
