Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight here in Brackley looks a bit grey above ,with overnight rain.
Into week 3 of lockdown, apart from having some walking, and getting food from Supermarket.
Starting to miss my Tuesday routine as well, but hopefully a brighter future of being able to do those things again lays ahead but when??
Mick

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Supermarket trip (5 minute walk from home) and washing bedroom curtains are today's highlights. Went for a long walk on a big stretch of land opposite the supermarket yesterday.
Much love to all ❤️

Good morning from West Wales. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. I am looking forward to my walk on the (deserted) beach with my dog. I hope you are all well, enjoy the sunshine and stay well.

Good morning Mick and all before me. It's a sunny day - without the bitterly cold wind (so far) - here on the Angus coast. Yesterday I was determined to find a place to sit in the sun and out of the wind, but the best I could do had me thoroughly chilled! I have sitooterie benches in all sorts of nooks and crannies, but nothing worked. I heard yesterday that my great-niece, a health worker, has had the virus confirmed at the weekend past. She is into her second week now and strangely her symptoms have not included a cough! It started with sore legs, a temp and extreme tiredness. The temp then went down and she lost her sense of smell and taste. Worried now about her husband and two little ones - but what can you do? And on top of that, just as the lockdown started DS1's FiL was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only months. He has his first RT today, bless him. And now Boris of course. Maybe something we can learn from him is that rest is important in the early days? Sorry, what a moanie post this is. Feeling really insecure now, which is silly. My late DH always said I was an ostrich with my head in the sand, so having come up for air I shall just bury down in the sand again and get on with things. No way out but through. Heading to the garden first I think and then take the day from there. Have as pleasant a day as you can everyone ???

Good morning from a sunny Market Harborough.

Another day to stay safe. Love to you all. X

Good morning Michael, Annie, and all.
It is beautiful here again this morning, and sounds very quiet.

Marydoll, we need your novellas to keep us going.✍️
I have often wished we had a Save button, as I also lose posts.

I made an Apple and Almond cake yesterday, but will have to stop baking, as I'm running out of freezer space, and flour, and eggs, etc, etc.
Did loads of washing yesterday, got it all dried in the garden, and it smells so lovely.
Gillybob, is your gas engineer coming tomorrow? Anyway, you will have a very clean space behind the cooker ?

Managed to get about a dozen pieces into my pesky jigsaw, and now have very few to finish it off. It won't beat me!

I will have to go and get some milk soon, but our little local Sainsbury have been brilliant. There used to be a pub on the site, but in all the years we have lived here, I never went in.
My dad and DH sometimes had a drink there though.
We didn't go for our walk yesterday, I don't know why, but we both had achey legs. That's my excuse, anyway.

Thoughts and prayers for Boris.

Have a good day one and all, take care and stay safe.

Taichinan Tue 07-Apr-20 09:25:10

curlywhirly so sorry ??

NanKate Tue 07-Apr-20 09:26:23

Oh please go on Mary we are all in need of some light entertainment from you. ?

Good morning all from a sunny mid-Notts. Looking outside you wouldn't think anything was wrong would you? Stay safe everyone and may Tuesday be kind to us all x

grannysyb Tue 07-Apr-20 09:37:21

Bright and sunny here, I had a bad night and decamped to the spare room! Gong to allotment today, and this afternoon will ring my friend to help with the Zoom, got it onto laptop but no sound! Thinking of all those who have lost loved ones. I had a bit of a wobble yesterday, sometimes it's hard to keep a stiff upper lip! TOYA

Taichinan. You said
She is into her second week now and strangely her symptoms have not included a cough! It started with sore legs, a temp and extreme tiredness. The temp then went down and she lost her sense of smell and taste
This is almost exactly what my little 3 3/4 year old grandson had when they flew back from Minneapolis in February. My D had been working out there on a play and my SIL took Flynn out for 10 days for them to have some time together - especially for him to see real snow which he loved.
He was poorly within days of coming home but of course nobody was looking for CV19 especially not in a toddler.
I can’t vouch for the loss of taste and smell but he was seriously off his food and we were very worried especially the “sore legs” and he spent a whole day in paediatric A&E which was very distressing.
It’s quite frightening, but on the other hand if it was CV then his parents might have some immunity as they were totally exposed to it and I went down to look after him twice so perhaps I have some immunity too. It’s a (possibly) reassuring thought.

MawB Tue 07-Apr-20 09:57:04

My sincere sympathies Curlywhirly on your loss.
Sadly this is the sort of thing we are all dreading and probably most of us will experience somewhere in our extended family.
I “attended” the streamed funeral from Essex yesterday of an old friend from our London days.
There were only 6 family members present and their little children - all spaced out- and it was strange, but actually quite comforting to feel that I was somehow “there”.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 07-Apr-20 09:58:34

MawB, taichinan I listened to Dr.Sarah Jarvis yesterday and she spoke about more people saying that they had really painful legs, some had painful arms also. This virus seems to have a myriad of different symptoms, not all patients get all of them.

Feelingmyage55 Tue 07-Apr-20 10:27:46

curlywhirly. How sad. My condolences.

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 10:45:01

Good morning folks from a sunny blue-skied Godalming.
Looking forward to my run tomorrow but today, as everything is spik and span, I am lying on a sofa, feet over one end marvelling at the tiny mobile phones I unearthed during my tidy of bedroom shelves and all in original boxes. Mind you, these 4 are not all of the antique phones in my possession. I have 50 all told but that
tally includes my present wrist-breaker ??
I need to charge them up and see exactly what's on them.
There's s brand new Vodaphone with Bluetooth? (never knew Bluetooth went back as far as that and 4x zoom ?) from 2007 with receipt still in box. The Sony Ericsson with Walkman is a sliderwith 3.2mp main camera...jeez ??
and good old reliable Nokia N70...haha.
They will keep me amused for hours as the Vodaphone has that snake game on it.
Well, now to charge them up and delve into their secrets...old pics n messages...??
Meanwhile, do take care and remember the SPF 30 on your forays outside ???
?? for everyone.

A late good morning from the Shropshire borders where it is another sunny day.
Had a FaceTime from DD2 and family this morning,we were still in bed!Was so lovely to see them.DGS is talking a lot more than when we last saw him a month ago.
Today is my FIL’s 92nd birthday and this is the first time in many years we haven’t been down in Llanelli celebrating with him.
The dietician phoned yesterday and a plan has been put in place for Henry.Follow up in two weeks and contact details if my daughter needs advice before then so we are all feeling more positive.
Cherry, hope you are feeling ok,you definitely need a more restful day today?
Curlywhirly,sorry for your loss.
Thinking of you all, stay safe and ?for all having wobbles today.x

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny day inGlasgow.

DH did the Waitrose shop yesterday. Not very busy and he managed to get everything on the list. I noticed yesterday B&Q is still open as is The Range?. I have a list of a few things I could be doing with from B&Q but nothing I can’t live without. No way would I be visiting the store for non essentials.

We will share window cleaning today, slowly but surely. Trying to have a project a day for house/garden at our own pace but it seems like tackling the Forth Road Bridge?

Have the best day you can everyone.

Grandmafrench Tue 07-Apr-20 10:54:32

Morning everyone! May you get some sunshine and settle into a new routine, Mick. CurlyW I’m so sad for your loss. Any of us with worries and wobbles will probably benefit from our new routines. We don’t want any of this, but I’d be the first to say that slowing down and finding a new rhythm and a different pattern to my days has been quite comforting. At first I panicked a lot, felt claustrophobic, had awful dreams, slept badly and was often quite miserable. That’s not me. However as the days have stretched out, I’m better adapting. I do whatever makes me feel better - at any old time, but there does seem to be a pattern to our days now and in each one if I can achieve or be pleased by something, however small, I notice that I’m generally happier and calmer. As EV has said, lord knows how it would feel if winter was approaching. But the longer, sunnier days at least can give us hope...even a little.

From your high security Spanish cell, Urmston the good days are in sight when the swifts and swallows start flying in. I was always rescuing casualties in Northern France where our house had a huge conservatory. Every species of bird was at risk when they flew towards it and in the end in Spring/Summer we had to hang small branches everywhere to show them they didn’t have an empty space to fly into! Before then, even large birds got confused. I had to use leather gauntlets once, to pick up a buzzard and again a Sparrowhawk. Small and very beautiful I could handle, like our resident Kingfisher. I came across one of his feathers tucked in one of my gardening books the other day. Happy memories. Don’t knock your ‘little life DoraM - if you’re coping, then like everyone you’ll be bound to think that it’ll do for now.

I thought yesterday as I was disinfecting the groceries hmm.....one day soon (please) I’ll hopefully laugh at such nonsense and my behavior. Just as my DM used to struggle against laughter, to recount tales of my lovely Granddad sitting under the kitchen table with his newspaper and refusing to let that ‘little weasel’ Hitler force him down to the cellar one more time ! I try to remember the resilience of that generation and how they all kept going and then I think I’m not I’ll or in hospital, so I need to get what I can out of my day and just be grateful for that.

There are some lovely souls on this site...my only sadness is that we can’t all actually meet, sit and talk about everything and anything over tea and the endless cakes and tea bread which we’re all baking. Wouldn’t that be something !! smile

I’d love to comment on all the posts here but if I scroll back through the comments, I’ll lose this post. So to every single person, keep smiling, stay well, don’t lose hope even when wobbly.
Get better please, Boris. Sending sunshine and orange blossom from (a very sickly) ?? France. xxxxxxx

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 10:57:34

A few days after Christmas I had that dry cough, nothing to expectorate but coughing until I though lungs were going to come up. Right off food, no appetite, lost about 10lbs and slept for about 22 hrs per 24. Think I mentioned in much earlier thread. Had to lie on bed in between making ancup of tea...ridiculous.
I still have the remains of the cough, just now and again during the day. Funnily enough, no temp diarrhoea or vomitting. I put it down to the same thing many others experienced around the same time. Might it have been early version of Covid-19? We have no idea, just guesswork.

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:06:01

An interesting post Grandmafrench Loved the story about your grandfather and the wistful penultimate paragraph. ?

Urmstongran Tue 07-Apr-20 11:19:33

From your high security Spanish cell love it Grandmafrench! Describes our situation perfectly!
?

GabriellaG 50 phones?? I think I’m on my 3rd.... My contact is SIM only so I buy cheap (only when absolutely necessary!) and pop the 02 SIM into the new phone (which is not a smartphone so I can’t do WhatsApp - a blessing I’m thinking). My phones cost around £20....

Oh dear Marydoll ?☹️
It's b nuisance when that happens.
Hope the rest of your day is a bit brighter ????

Marydoll Tue 07-Apr-20 11:23:08

Thanks Gabriella, it was a truly moaning, negative post, so it's best it disappeared into the ether! ?

Taichinan Tue 07-Apr-20 11:25:14

Maw that's why I shared this, so that more people can be aware that it doesn't necessarily start with a cough. It's actually comforting to know that your little grandson presented this way and recovered - it sounds very much as if he has had CV, comparing the symptoms. Roll on the day when there is a test to show who has/hasn't had it.

Urmstongran Tue 07-Apr-20 11:30:29

Just to clarify Gabriella - my post was in no way a criticism from your purchases (or upgrades by contract). It was to highlight my cheapskatedness ‼️
