Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight here in Brackley looks a bit grey above ,with overnight rain.
Into week 3 of lockdown, apart from having some walking, and getting food from Supermarket.
Starting to miss my Tuesday routine as well, but hopefully a brighter future of being able to do those things again lays ahead but when??
Mick

A great good morning from a sunny East Midlands. Just had a lovely walk out and not seen a person, thank goodness. An afternoon of phone calls and catching up with friends and might do a bit in the garden. Stay safe everyone.

It’s funny someone mentioned a dry cough as I had that just after christmas as well. It got really bad and my lungs ached so I went along to the drs. Had my chest sounded out and it was clear and all ok but the cough still remains. I was also wondering if I had had this pesky virus then, as well. Oh well we will never know.

Gabriella it sounds very much that what you had in Jan was CV! I'm beginning to think it's been amongst us for far longer than we thought. (See my and Maw's posts above).

Good morning all. Absolutely gorgeous day here on the river. Water level has risen a bit and I am no longer sitting on the river bed. Nice to have the gentle movement again. I have been out raking the grass. Also trying to start my lawn mower. I know it will eventually. Had this problem last year. I have moved it to a sunny spot now. Get a bit of heat into the gubbins. Grass cutting can wait until after lunch now. Hope you are all coping well with isolation.

Another gorgeous sunny day here in the south.
Don't forget to look at the moon tonight- it will be huge & pink!! Although I seem to remember that last year is was more orange than pink TBH. Still very impressive.

Good Morning to everyone from a corner of Sussex. Bright sunny day and the birds flying about. There were more sitting in my cherry tree than I have seen - but then it’s Spring. More blossom breaking out and green shoots. I was taking my early morning ‘sniff of fresh air’ ( high risk so I can’t leave the house like many others) when two ladies walked past with their little children. I said ‘good morning’ and enjoy your walk’ and they responded with a very cheery ‘Hello, you OK’ adding that few people speak even from the 2 metre distance. I hope our exchange added to their day since it did to mine. With the technology of FaceTime I can keep in touch with my grandchildren and great grand children and I’m so grateful for that. When this ‘nightmare’ is over, from then on everyday will be sunny day even when we are in the depths of Winter. Today I am drawing pictures of Easter Eggs to send to the little ones, with the hope that my daughter might find three eggs that can be set aside when we are eventually ‘set free’. May I wish each and everyone a Happy Easter, remembering those who are ill and especially those who are grieving. Nothing makes real sense at the moment but perhaps the message of Easter Day will resonate with some.

First time on here (hello from South Lincolnshire) and am finding it riveting, not to mention useful. So far: what to do about the possibility, after years of highlighting my hair, that I might be totally grey by now; great suggestions for Youtube living room workouts (cheerful American woman Leslie Sansone my favourite so far); and last but not least, the morning greeting session with uplifting messages from all over the country. But put me out of my misery - who is Mick? He (assuming a ‘he’, could be wrong) seems to be in charge of you all - I have visions of him, after this horror time is all over, organising real life get-togethers in a centrally-located church hall...... he’s standing in the middle of the room, facilitating a GN session and everyone’s having a great time finally meeting each other.

A symptom of leg problems is interesting as before my lurgy took a hold over late December, I was coming back from the local shop and found that my legs didn't want to go the few yards further to the front door and clearly remember visions of wanting to sit down on the pavement there and then.

I struggled putting one foot in front of the other before I got inside and felt like collapsing. At that point I had an idea that it was my chest/lungs which were affected because of a blip in circulation to the lower half of my body as lack of oxygen can cause these symptoms. Increased temperature only for a couple of days prior to a worsening condition.

Sure enough, I then felt as though there was an elephant sitting on my chest restricting my breathing and this went on for over a week with an irritating cough where I couldn't get my breath. All through January and most of February I didn't feel as though I " belonged ". Because my blood oxygen has always been good and had measured 98% for as far back as I can remember, I managed to fight back, but anyone with a poor lung/ oxygen function I feel heartily sorry for. Blood oxygen is ideally 100%---fit and healthy level.

Ironically I'm a smoker too !! I didn't call a GP, neither have I since seen one but slightly concerned at any damage that may have been done to the lungs though I haven't been gasping for breath and can breath freely, even experimenting going to sleep with one pillow, no problem.

Taichinan, as you say, testing should be vital as right now I'd be interested to see results of an antibody test just out of curiosity.

Oh Urmstongran, it would be virtually impossible for me to be irked by anything alluding to my spending and I certainlydidn't even read it like criticism.
Even I look back and wonder at the call charges from years ago when I had two mobiles and a landline (Amstrad e-mailer)
The emailer bills were circa an unbelievable £360 per month yes. I still have some paper bills, both sides of several sheets.
One mobile business and t'other private.
T-Mobile gave me free upgrades when I renewed but my ex paid until we divorced.
Since then I buy mobiles outright every few years and have a £6.50pm SIM from Plusnet with unlimited calls/texts and 2GB data.
The 'stash' has accumulated since the very first 'brick' Motorola, a very long time ago.

We too were ill over Christmas and well into January with what seems to have been the symptoms of corona virus. The cough still lingers over three months later.

A lovely walk this morning with my puppies! We are so lucky to have these fields backing on to our back garden!

Taichinan Tue 07-Apr-20 15:25:03

Welcome kate54. I love your vision of Mick and the church hall. How about it Mick?

Grandmafrench Tue 07-Apr-20 15:44:54

What lovely "puppies" Sheilall. We call ours puppies, even though one is 12 now. It's possibly because they behave like mad creatures when we go walking. Are yours Labradoodly ones? They certainly have some lovely open spaces.

EV and Gabriella It's strange how quickly we forget. I had the "legs won't operate" problem in the New Year. Actually couldn't walk from the car to the water's edge. Sat on the Lifeguards' balcony and watched my DH exercise our dogs. And I love walking and walk for miles on the beach. This lasted for 10 days or so and I had a higher temperature than normal and absolutely no energy. Our DS and his partner arrived here in February from England to glorious weather - we were able to use our Kayak and spend days outside. She had a very bad dry cough which she said had been a problem since December! When she went back to the UK she went to the Doctor since by then there was an infection. Lots of talk of The Virus being around for longer than we think. I'm sure with all the easy travel, holidays, 'planes etc., it would be easy to believe.
Kate54 you'll have to ask members of this site for the Mick history - or maybe he'll respond. I just gather, as a fairly new person on here, that he lives on his own near Bickley/Bicester and is in sheltered housing (?) - that's a guess, and is used to spending his days getting out and about on the buses to the shops and he loves sports on t.v. - especially cycling. Someone will give you more info., I'm sure. There are many meet-ups organised by GN members regularly in lots of areas when life is a normal one. Don't think it's down to Mick to hire a church hall and try to squash everyone in. Can you imagine? Poor guy...would he even hear himself speak!
Calendar keep safe in Super Sussex....we don't talk to people enough. We need to make sure that this pandemic starts a good new trend in acknowledging each other. flowers

Taichinan and Grandmafrench. I bet that was early stage C-19 but at the time thought it was winter virus. I've never before felt so fatigued and unable to stand. Just wanted sleep ++ and the more I tried to stifle the cough, the more I had to do it.
Didn't go to GP as we were told to stay home and make warm lemon/honey drinks.
?to all those who still have symptoms.

Gingster Tue 07-Apr-20 19:57:06

I too had that horrible virus starting In November, I still have a thickly throat and cough. I know others who have had the same. Never had anything go on for so long. It makes you wonder ?

NfkDumpling Tue 07-Apr-20 21:44:35

Wasn’t the November / December cough too early? I really can’t remember when all this started.

Grandmafrench Tue 07-Apr-20 21:55:11

Unfortunately NfkD, we can probably only speculate. China started making noises about the problem in February, but it seems to be accepted that they had successfully covered up what was happening and the extent of the problem well before that. So who knows? When people have coughs which just go on and on though, it does provide food for thought.

I really must say goodnight.... and scarper - before I'm found lurking near this thread when Mick arrives to say Good Morning Wednesday grin
