Good Morning Everyone,
I am greeted to a dry day but a clear sky here in Brackley.
Today, do a little bit more spring cleaning ,as that fits the tasks well.
Watch BBC breakfast , then the daily Kitchen, .
I saw a Facebook posting yesterday, from a person I knew in the RAF in 70`s , he at his retirement home was admitted to Hospital in Middlesborough with the virus , but had not posted for a week , now recovering from it.

Good morning from a cloudy, chilly Essex. Lazy day yesterday as it was Bank Holiday!! Did sort through some old photos and put a few on our extended family Whats App. The 70s fashions did give our younger members a great chuckle when we all thought we looked supercool?
Workout with Joe today then yoga and singing with Gareth. I do like some sort of routine. Watched 'Quiz' last night. Didn't think I would enjoy it but looking forward to next 2 episodes. Hope everyone has a productive day, whatever that might entail xxxxx

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.A dry and bright start so more gardening and laundry today.
We had an Asda delivery yesterday so are stocked up for a while now, will manage with deliveries of milk, bread, veg and eggs from the local deli.Quite a lot of the fresh items from Asda had very short dates on them which is annoying but hey ho.No crumpets in stock,Ellan you will understand my pain!
DD went back to work yesterday after her week off which caused me some anxiety.Am trying to keep busy as otherwise my mind goes into overdrive worrying about DD and also about baby Henry.
Stay safe and well everyone.

Aargh! That photo of my cousin’s text won’t send!

I’ll try again later. Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone. x

Morning all from a bright but frosty Staffs. I love hearing where we’re all from.
I watched a Julie Bradbury Cheshire walk last night from Cheshire Curlywhirly-it showed Beeston and Peckmorton (?) looked lovely. Only about an hour from here so will make a note. . .
Didn’t feel well yesterday, hadn’t slept well and ached (hopefully) from running part of garden circuits.
I count my blessings; am here with DH so can only imagine how tough this must be on your own and with pre existing problems of any sort.
Am looking forward to a Zoom French conversation class this afty.

Good morning from a sunny but cold NE Hampshire. I’m dipping my toe into this lovely thread for the first time. It’s so good to know that we are all in this together, living alone I didn’t realise how much I treasured the day to day contact with friends and neighbours. These friendly posts really help.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it’s not a warm start. Not sure if we will have our short walk today, but DH has plans to make a cake using up overripe bananas, and I have a pile of ironing to do. Oh joy! I made a curry yesterday which we will have for dinner tonight. Something to look forward to! Stay safe and have the best day you can, folks.

Oh my goodness, I am laughing so much here!
Just has a text from DD to say thanks for the video of a bedtime story I sent for DGS last night, but did I realise that my ‘Boudior Photos’ from a photo shoot I had on my 50th were behind me on the video??? she has promised not to show anyone else but her and DGS but after all those years of telling her not to send pictures of herself to anyone I should know better!!!

Good Morning from Fife where it's wall to wall sunshine but I imagine it's a tad chilly out there. I've a little laundry to do then will phone my elderly neighbour for her shopping list which I'll add to my Sainsbury's delivery due tomorrow lunchtime.
Another walk over the golf course after lunch very lucky to have three courses to choose from and two run parallel with the beach.
BlueSapphire my Dutch SIL hails from Groningen which is in Freisland in the north.

Popping back to say welcome Evie and thank Nankate for the reminder of Ali Farka Toure. We have one of his lovely CDs - I am going to dig it out.???

Good morning all from a bright but chilly South Yorkshire. The sky is the most beautiful shade of blue.

Welcome to Evie64 and Oldbutstilluseful. I hope you will continue to post and draw comfort from this thread.

Glad to hear that your friend is on the road to recovery, Mick.

Well, it's been a different Easter this year hasn't it? Our Vicar streamed the Easter services via zoom from the rectory.
We were in touch with our family via technology and so able to have a nice Easter, but as I say, different! At least the weather was good which meant DH and I were able to tackle some jobs in the garden.

Today I have some ironing to do and some washing to go outside, so that's me busy for part of the day. ?

Take care all.

Good morning from a bright sunny Chester, not sure about the temperature as I haven't ventured outside yet.

I feel restless today and in need of a good brisk walk. My little dog will have to make do with running around the garden today as I intend to get my walking poles out and get a good walking workout. I have been exercising indoors but it is not the same as being out in the fresh air and feeling the sunshine on my face and I really need to lift my mood.

After a very lonely weekend I will see both grandchildren today when my children deliver my groceries and medication. It will be at shouting distance but I am looking forward to it.

I am also expecting and Amazon delivery of my bookclub's next three books. Small things make my day now.

So many of you on this site are experiencing difficulties and my thoughts go out to you. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a sunny but cold NE, still frost on the cars at 8.30 this morning.
We are expecting a delivery of ready meals, enough for four days, not got a time slot yet.
Yesterday was spent in front of the TV and I read half a novel.
Meals are getting interesting, found some treacle puds in the cupboard, a rare treat with custard.
Bread all gone so cheese and biscuits with olives for supper, thankfully we still have wine.
Stay safe.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Feels chilly after last week's sun but I suppose it's the right weather for April.
About to venture out to Lidl to stock up. It's a two minute walk away but it feels like an adventure as life shrinks.

Good Morning from a beautiful day here in Fife, it's so uplifting to see the sun once again, long may it continue. Welcome Evie and Oldbutstilluseful - enjoy our lovely thread. I can't believe that I'm sleeping so much later than normal. For goodness sake why am I so tired? I had a number of chores to do yesterday which were all finished so today - well what's to do? I shall probably just go around the whole house again whilst DG is out in the garden making it just as tidy as house wink. We do have a routine I'm glad to say and tbh not finding our days too long, it's tea time before I know it. Sad listening to all the headline news sad. Keep our chins up though, keep doing as we are advised and we shall get through this. Have a good day all flowers

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a bright but cold start to whatever day it is today . The promised good weather did not materialise here this weekend .

I’m off to “that place” soon just to check on things and unset/reset the alarm for insurance purposes. I’ll pick up the post too. Wish I had an open fire here at home . There are things I need to get finished for the end of the month so might try and box it up and bring it home.

I hope your DD and baby Henry get some positive news from the paediatrician and dietician this week susan ?

Welcome Evie (lush name) and oldbutstilluseful . I hope to see you both posting often on this lovely Good Morning thread.

Sending best wishes and lots of love and sunshine to everyone during these strange times.

Good morning Mick and all his followers!! Welcome Evie & oldbutstilluseful.
After dropping a very sharp knife on Sunday, I am not doing any gardening or walking at the moment! I somehow slashed my big toe on the side and under the ball of the toe. It’s held together with steristrips at the moment. Ho hum!
Hope everyone has a good day

Curlywhirly Tue 14-Apr-20 09:23:28

Newquay there are some lovely walks in Cheshire; I have been to Beeston several times, (they used to hold a huge outdoor market there on Bank Holiday Mondays), I have also walked the Peckforton hills. Julia Bradbury walked the sandstone trail, which has some beautiful views of Cheshire, there is also a very good pub near the trail - The Pheasant at Burwardsley, which is set high up and also has amazing views, and good food!

Marydoll Tue 14-Apr-20 09:28:31

Oldbutstilluseful , glad you took the plunge and posted. Welcome too, Evie.
Back from my walk, never saw a soul, the sun was shining and there was a refreshing breeze. Quite uplifting.

Good Morning All x Special Good Morning to those who are new " to the game "---Welcome.

Another beautiful start to the day with bright sunshine but it's been perishing cold with it so I've been glad to remain indoors.

Washing was bone dry yesterday as there was a bit more blow than there is today.
Don't know what I'm doing today---or not, we'll have to see.
I find it hard to put my mind to things and thought that by now I should be accustomed to this way of life, maybe soon.

Susan, yes, I'm missing my crumpets ( withdrawal symptoms ) and put up with Marmite on toast----what a come-down. I might go mad and have a bacon buttie grin
Chicken Korma later, might do chips with it rather than pasta or rice.

D's last day today before furlough as sailings to Belfast are fewer with virtually no foot passengers to " search ", just wagons with food deliveries which the one or two men can manage. She's a supervisor with a security company. Her job is safe, thankfully. At least she can give her full time to the children as well as finishing jobs in the house so plenty to keep her going. I'm so relieved !! GS is still working flat out in the food industry where more workers have been taken on.

I could do with doing a shop and I've been warned about possible queues outside so if I do venture to Asda it'll be later in the day---perhaps. Nothing absolutely desperate but I like to remain stocked up as it's a long time yet before anything will be normal, if ever. It's a routine we all get into and that's where I'm finding it difficult.

Here's hoping that everyone's remaining well and enjoying the gardening jobs if you have this lovely bright weather. Inside can get done when the weather is crummy. I bet we'll get the hottest of summers this year, I can feel it in my water.

Stay safe and well xx

Morning everyone. Sunshine, warm and blue here on the Med’.?? But we could be anywhere ... bit like waking up in any hotel anywhere in the world, until you go out to explore, it’s all the same!

Today, laundry, bath the dogs, clean some windows (lots of sand in yesterday’s rain). Such exciting times.....we’ve been told we can’t hope for any fêtes or gatherings until ‘at least’ July...so looks as if our amazing firework gala over the sea on Bastille night will not go ahead. So sad, but staying safe is all and social distancing impossible in a crowd.

BlueSapphire we love it....only 3 more episodes of The Crown to go.......don’t want it to end now.
Welcome Evie and OldbutStill - d love Exeter.
Fingers crossed your pooch gets to see the Vet today, Scentia. My eyes are sore - too much screen time/reading: need eye test but UK visit impossible and have never tested here (only medical thing I don’t do, prefer to pay in England and use my wonderful Optician there.) Because here , unfortunately, eye tests and shops providing glasses are totally separate. To receive the prescription needed, have to visit an eye specialist first for all tests and there’s usually a 6 month wait for appointments - unless urgently requested by your GP - if you have never been before. Ah well, read less, get on with my chores I think!

Have the best Tuesday possible, everyone. Please take no risks, keep safe and look forward to a Life After Lockdown. ?x
