Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry and clear sky start here in Brackley this morning.
Its looks like another warm day, a day in today.
Some general tidy ups etc for me .
Routine of BBC Breakfast, Daily Kitchen Live , Bargain Hunt ,and then snooze , watch the latest updates ,and then see what I can find on TV later .

Morning everyone from a bright and sunny South Notts. I shall drive to my local town this morning for some bits and bobs which I haven't been able to get from the supermarket - the first such jaunt for weeks. I need to pick up fresh batteries for my hearing aids if the health centre is open.
Is there a sight prettier than a bluebell wood, Greyduster ? Not in my eyes.
I hope all is well with you all. Chin up and all that.

Beechnut Mon 20-Apr-20 09:53:39

So many have suffered the Weekend Wobble ?

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday BlueSapphire ???

It’s lovely to see that birthdays, anniversaries etc are being celebrated in the best possible way. ?

GrannySomerset Mon 20-Apr-20 09:55:38

Bright and breezy in our bit of North Somerset and another day of more of the same. Bedding in the wash so will dry nicely, kitchen and bathrooms floors to wash and a certain amount of admin.

At last managed to load Zoom so were able to have video call with DS yesterday and will see DD tonight. Makes such a difference being able to see them.

Thinking as always of Gilly, dragonfly and all those for whom this very trying time is so difficult. Am trying to count my own considerable blessings.

Good morning all,

It’s a very bright and breezy morning here in South Yorkshire today. Still chilly, though. I’ve some washing in the machine so it will dry beautifully outside today.

Many happy returns, BlueSapphire. ??

SusieB50, yes, cooked red cabbage will freeze.

What a lovey photo, Mythbertthedragon - a beautiful baby.

Well, not sure what exciting things I’m going to get up to today! We took a lovely walk along a lane we don’t tend to go down very much, yesterday, and it was so pleasant. Saw our first swifts dancing in the sky during the walk. A lovely sight.

Hope you all have the best day you can, and keep safe.

Nannatwiglet Mon 20-Apr-20 09:57:35

Greetings from sunny West Yorkshire!

Happy birthday Blue Sapphire and what a Bonnie wee baby Mythbirtthedragon!
Spoke to my GD yesterday on video call...she cried because we are apart...she’s only 3and a bit! But she was eager to tell me all about her new balance bike she had for Easter.....
Am housebound currently but enjoying pottering around the house and garden.
Our bluebells are just about to bloom...such a beautiful sight!

Enjoying reading all the posts on GN...keeps me entertained for hours.
Enjoyed last night’s Together at Home on tv. And saving Midsummer's nights Dream to watch later on.
Must book an online shop today. A neighbour has recommended Morrison’s Doorstep Delivery...hope this one works! Have a good day everyone, smile

Beechnut Mon 20-Apr-20 09:58:51

Whoops! I said the same as you just then GabriellaG54. Great minds ?

Urmstongran Mon 20-Apr-20 10:00:29

The Spanish government have announced that children are to be allowed outside for walks a week today, 27 April.

So glad for all the little families who will have been shut inside their apartments for a total of a full SIX weeks by then, poor things. It must be so hard for them and their parents.

I will look out from front door next Monday to enjoy the spectacle.

I think our adults lockdown ends 12 days after that - on 9 May. We could then walk out to our local park on Sunday 10 May. I am so hoping that will happen! 3 weeks to go...

Good Morning everyone! 2nd day of continuous rain out of 4 threatened on a Yellow Alert for the South of France! Oh yes...my cup (and my garden) runneth over!

There’s a bit of a Wobble Alert going on with some lovely posters today. Feel better soon, everyone. It will pass. Keeping away from the news definitely helps in those times, I reckon. All those pages and programmes of wall to wall gloom being churned out at us. We get it, we’re stuck in it, we don’t need to hear speculation and grave warnings 24/7......we’re all doing our best to stay positive and sane, thanks.

I wound up the blinds today to greet the predicted deluge. But I shall not be downhearted - what’s the worst that can happen today? Yes, I shall have to face the ironing. It’s lovely to read all the posts each day and to see that, however hard one of us struggles one day, we just push on and tomorrow as our moods lift, someone else’s cheeriness can turn into a down day! Hard to feel alone when the Good Morningers on here are so supportive. ? And, take it from someone who’s lived abroad for many years, there is absolutely nothing to beat the British sense of humour!!

Have a lovely birthday, you and your delicious duck, BlueSapphire ??, we’re all rooting for the best news for you ? and for Dexter dragonfly, that’s not moaning, flowerlover please keep posting; lucky you Lins and hope your plants bring you cheer; and very lucky you with that cheeky babba in your life mybirthdragon. Think you’re right Gingster we will “all be different people after this”. For me - health, friends, family and a simpler, more gentle life would be everything. Happy Monday to all.....and hang in there, gilly. ????

Mapleleaf Mon 20-Apr-20 10:04:11

Sorry to read you are having a wobble dragonfly. It hits without warning, doesn’t it? I hope the feeling soon passes. Take care. ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 20-Apr-20 10:07:26

dragonfly flowers I hope your wobble abates soon.

EllanVannin Mon 20-Apr-20 10:11:46

Good Morning All x
Good Lord, where did 4 hours go ? The beautiful sunshine got me up at around 6 a.m, bathroom, then sat with a cup of tea listening to the birds---for an hour. Decided to put the news on which went in one ear and out of the other apart from the terrible shootings in Canada on Saturday/Sunday.

Breakfast done and dusted then a phone-call to see if I was still in the land of the living and here I am.

Going to put some throws in the wash while the going's good with the weather it's ideal for drying with this breeze. Thick dressing gown can go in the machine too it'll dry nicely.

A Happy Birthday to BlueSapphire and many of 'em x
Great to hear the sun's out for you Urmston it does help you get through the day. Keep on enjoying your view.

Aw, that little baby made me think of how much I miss the children Mybirthdragon, a pretty little thing she is too, cuddly that you want to lift them up.

I hope your wobbles clear up as the day goes on Dragonfly, it's not nice either when you have extra worries about the dog. x

Marydoll, it was quite a few years before I realised that the saying about " ne'er cast a clout " was about the May flower which flowers in June and not the end of the month of May. My mum used to say it often, probably every year when I wore next to nothing as a teenager grin

Hoping this finds our Gilly in a slightly more settled state of mind as I can appreciate how things are there. x flowers

Must phone D today to see how things are in her household and how her furloughing is getting on. At least the children can get out in the back garden with their seed planting and tennis ball on a string game that hit her in the eye last week.shock

I'll have to move myself and get cracking before the day's gone so stay safe and well everyone and enjoy the day as best you can xx

Irenelily Mon 20-Apr-20 10:17:36

Hooray for modern technology that keeps the family together at this difficult time. We have family “Zoom” meetings, Skype and send photos on phone. I can see my 20month great grandson, the other grandchildren and my eldest daughter throwing a ball for the Labradors they breed on their farm. My mother used to say “Count your blessings!” And I think technology is a big one!!

Grandmafrench Mon 20-Apr-20 10:19:31

Urmston yaaay! Everything crossed you get your little stroll in the real world again. In the absence of that, shall we send you some very small size clothes and a dollies’ pram - you could then tag along with the families with children who will taste freedom soon?

Grandmafrench Mon 20-Apr-20 10:21:05

Sounds like a laugh a minute at your GC’s house, EllanV ...the dangers of being a Mummy, eh?

BladeAnnie Mon 20-Apr-20 10:25:00

Good morning all from a bright and sunny mid-Notts. We had a clear sky last night and the stars were beautiful - venus shining brightly too. Watched Ladies in Black on Netflix last night - really enjoyed it and definitely recommend. Happy birthday Blue Sapphire smile. Stay safe everyone and may Monday be kind to us all x

CherryCezzy Mon 20-Apr-20 10:29:08

Good morning everyone. It's an absolutely beautiful day here in the Gower, blue sky, calm sea and warm.
? Happy birthday to you ? BlueSapphire.
Such a gorgeous baby Mythbirthdragon .
dragonfly, do come on the lockdown thread. x
Thanks Marydoll for keeping us informed about Gillybob. Take care Gillybob ?.
I hope you are reading annsixty and are feeling a little stronger today. ?
First load of washing on the line, I'm sure two loads will dry outside today.
On with the Q&A with my group today. Blowing my own ?, naughty I know smile, I'm doing quite well so far. Probably due a fall now though!
I probably shouldn't have put the finishing touches on my non-artistic artwork yesterday but I did, thumb not very happy with me ?.
Think I'll sit outside, read, watch the birds and enjoy the garden today ?.
Take care all of you ❤️

Purplepixie Mon 20-Apr-20 10:40:54

Good morning from a beautiful day in the East Midlands.

Happy birthday Bluesapphire and what a gorgeous baby Myrthbirt!

Sending love and hugs to the Gillybobs - we are all thinking of them.

Another day in but hey it is better than the alternative. Going to do a bit in the garden this afternoon. I prepared a spaghetti bolognese this morning along with a small cheese and onion pie - a request from my son who lives with us.

Stay safe and have the best day that you can have. Xxx

Harris27 Mon 20-Apr-20 10:43:35

Feelingmyage55 Mon 20-Apr-20 10:57:36

Good morning from cold but bright north of Scotland. I am concentrating on the garden today and abandoning cleaning. I’d rather be outside. Happy birthday to bluesaphire. And thinking of everyone doing their bit by staying at home.

Taichinan Mon 20-Apr-20 11:04:55

Good morning everyone. It's another day of glorious sunshine on the Angus coast - not a cloud in the sky. It's so easy to be cheerful on days like this, isn't it. But Urmstongran someone I know in Spain posted pics of hailstones yesterday and said there was spectacular thunder and lightning too, so maybe that will end your bad run of grey ?. I shall do more grass cutting and bed weeding today, and some tai chi in the sun by the pond. I also have a Tesco delivery after lunch. A good way to start another week. Have already had a WhatsApp chat with two of the DCs. DS2 is military and currently "flying from home" so is digging a pond out in his back garden, while DD, who always works from home, disappeared at 9.03 saying "Ooops! Late for work!". The three DGCs still at school are back at lessons today bemoaning the fact that they're getting the down side of school (schoolwork) without the upside (being with all their friends). Poor things, and they're all being so good and patient. As are we of course, aren't we Gransnetters. My thoughts as always are with those who are finding this incarceration difficult, for whatever reason. Please have the best day you can. ???

moggie Mon 20-Apr-20 11:14:27

Good morning Mick and all where the sun is shining again in Glasgow. Pleased to hear the sun is out for you again Urmstongran it certainly makes us cheerier than a dull day.

I was all gung ho and so engrossed working in the garden yesterday I stupidly overdid it and boy, I am suffering with an aching body and both arms full of scratches as I worked amongst shrubs with a short sleeved top on??‍♀️. Full strength co-codamol to the rescue along with a sharp reminder I am not a spring chicken?

Happy Birthday to you BlueSapphire. What a lovely gesture from your neighbour. Enjoy your bubbly juice?? To your good health.
Loved the photo of a happy baby Mybirthdragon
Sorry to hear you had such a wobble Dragonfly. Fingers crossed all goes well for Dexter at the vets.
I well remember a few awful inondations when we lived in southern France Grandmafrench. Took us days to clear the mud it left behind.

Love and strength to you dear gilly ?

Have the best day possible everyone.

NfkDumpling Mon 20-Apr-20 11:38:52

Morning All

Very bright and very, very breezy in the north of Norfolk and the wind from the north east is decidedly chilly. The garden is still looking good and the first blackbird babies have appeared. Its all lovely to look at, but I do so wish we could join the ranks of the daily walkers striding past the house!

DH and I are fighting over a particularly annoying jigsaw puzzle at the moment. A street map of Norwich. All those roads, streets and pavements looking the same!

Happy Birthday BlueSapphire. I hope you have a lovely day.

And big squidgy (((hugs))) for Gilly.

NfkDumpling Mon 20-Apr-20 11:40:22

And a (((hug))) for Dexter too. I miss my DGDogs. I could do with a furry cuddle.

jacq10 Mon 20-Apr-20 11:48:46

Good morning from the sunny highlands of Scotland. I, like many others, had a wobbly day yesterday. It would have been our 51st wedding anniversary and since DH passed away at the end of November 2018 have had many of them but the current lock down is really making it so hard. No health worries just old (according to guidelines). Missing my DGS whom I have every school day. Miss my coffee meet-up with friends and have had to cancel two trips away. My DS and DD phone every day to keep me going but I get such a lot from Gransnet. These days I stick mainly to this thread (thank you, Mick) and Soop's Kitchen and appreciate support I have received through pms. Have been lucky enough to meet up with the Glasgow Grannies twice and hope to do so again. I also so enjoy Urmstongran's posts from Malaga as DH and myself travelled a lot in Spain before finding the exact area Urmstongran is currently so seeing her photos and posts really lifts me. I feel for so many on this site sometimes to the point of tears and then get picked up by the humour and can laugh out aloud. Not very confident when posting but certainly enjoy everyone else's on this site. Thank you - need another cup of coffee now - I have a wee house but large garden so off to enjoy the sun.
