And I'm ashamed to say it's "bone idle" combined with more than a touch of CBA blush

Yes, I clean the kitchen, bathroom, Hoover etc, but have I sorted out the spare room? Have I buffalo!

Have I used this extra time to up my non existent "beauty" regime, by applying moisturiser after my shower? Erm, judging by the dinosaur skin on my arms and legs, it would appear not.

Have I sorted through that drawer full of photos, or the one with various odds and ends of make up, or that glass pot on the dressing table full of earrings?

No, no and no again!

I am hopeless!

Well that's me nearly passed out with exhaustion. Today I had to take a meter reading then upload it to my energy supplier's website. That's 2 jobs really. As if that's not enough I almost emptied the dishwasher but, luckily, the impulse passed.
Soon be time for a cup of tea and fistful of M&S extremely chocolatey mini rolls.

Thank you phoenix. this thread is great!

Purplepoppies, I love "My get up and go got up and pissed off". That describes it exactly grin

I also like your idea of employing a team of cleaners if this ever ends - just what I was thinking this morning when I was making a feeble attempt to remove a stain (of what, I wonder?) on a kitchen cupboard door. As I realised that it was far too tough for me, I thought of a local cleaning firm which I had thought of trying before. The only trouble is that in this town you are not going to get anyone who is a complete stranger, which might be embarrassing. On the other hand, by the time it might be possible to get them to come, they would be unlikely to be able to get in at the door because of the mountains of dust, so maybe the problem won't arise.

Oh dear, over-thinking again. Better go and lie down.

I’ve had a productive morning of watching other people work. The bin men came today (they’ve not missed a collection, bless them) and then a van rolled up to deliver medical dialysis supplies on a pallet to next door.

There are so many laugh-out-loud posts on this thread, thank you, all. smile

Callistemon Wed 22-Apr-20 11:15:36

Definitely not cannabis, I'd recognise that!

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Apr-20 11:14:40

Maggiemaybe I wonder if you need to check your temperature? You may be coming down with something...

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Apr-20 11:12:55

Laughterlines well quite. What are they thinking?
Was discussing the concept of this thread with Mr L just now and he's under the impression that nothing has changed for us and I'm always like this........ reader, I was shocked!shock
I thought to myself, "I'll show him" and then....... no, can't be arsed. Wanders off looking for a Kit Kat....

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Apr-20 11:11:23

So sorry, Missedout, it looks as though I nicked your delivery slot. I won't rub salt in your wounds by commenting on your username.....

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Apr-20 11:09:07

I'm in danger of being drummed off this thread today. Not only have I already done an online grocery order (spotted while I was lounging in bed at 9.30 and too good to miss), but I've also crammed another duvet in the machine to wash.

That's it for today though, I'm spent. I'm going to do some serious reclining now and I'll get my man to peg the duvet out.

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Apr-20 11:07:46

Callistemon could it be cannabis? Maybe wait and see..... could put a whole new spin on CBA

Anannymous Wed 22-Apr-20 10:27:35

Well I really let the side down yesterday. I cleaned the conservatory windows inside and out! We are spending so much time ‘resting’ in the conservatory these days that I thought it might be nice if we could actually see the garden. So I think I will have to put my feet up today! I have found loungewear to be invaluable (sounds better than pjs).

Laughterlines Wed 22-Apr-20 10:09:20

Heard on the news scientists may have a vaccine. It’s the last straw. Will probably have to wash hair and abandon the bib I have taken to wearing to protect PJs from food stains. Oh more decisions.

Callistemon Wed 22-Apr-20 09:46:14

There is a very large weed in an awkward place in the front garden and I'm contemplating whether to go and pull it out or not.
It involves standing on a wall, which could be rather dangerous.

It is rather pretty, feathery green leaves and pink flowers.
I wonder what it is.
Shall I leave it and see if it grows into a tree?
Should this post be on a gardening thread?

So much to ponder.

Missedout Wed 22-Apr-20 09:41:35

I'm still in bed contemplating what I should do. I'm thinking perhaps I could, just might, check to see if there are any online grocery delivery slots. But, experience tells me that there won't be, so perhaps I won't bother. All this thinking has worn me out, so perhaps I'll stay where I am. Busy, busy!

Iam64 Wed 22-Apr-20 09:30:00

It's so reassuring to learn I'm in good company in the CBA group. The first week of isolation, I cleaned the cupboard doors in the kitchen. I then gave the Utility/Dog room a thorough clean and bleach.
I asked Mr i to clean all the windows. He did so. Yes, the streaks are still visible, especially during this sunny weather.

The garden is looking better than it did but, it did have a long way to go.

Bellanonna Wed 22-Apr-20 08:46:35

Embarrassing amount here too ??

Pittcity Wed 22-Apr-20 08:44:26

Six weeks since paper and plastic has been collected here. I used up a week's worth of exercise jumping on it all to squash it into the maximum number of bags that they will collect.
Next week it's bottles and tins. I'm going to need a fork lift to move all the wine bottles wink

Bellanonna Wed 22-Apr-20 08:35:52

I have to do the same Pittcity. Ours has mounted up as there’s been a four week gap. There’s loads of cardboard, too, which I suppose everyone must have amassed.

Pittcity Wed 22-Apr-20 08:30:24

I am going to have to make an effort this evening to move the recycling from the back to the front as it's being collected early tomorrow....the excitement might be a bit too much!wine

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Apr-20 08:29:58

Thank you Glorybee, gently resting as we speak......
(actually, a flaming 'delete' button would be useful)

Glorybee Wed 22-Apr-20 08:15:28

Many thanks GrannyLaine, that’s very helpful. It is relevant for this thread and I meant to post it here but I’ve been flitting through other threads this morning and as on my iPad my post showed up as the first under the green op post as page 9, I thought I was still in one of the political threads, where it’s not quite so appropriate! I did spend energy trying to do it myself but I’m not too tech savvy - you’ve definitely earned an extra hour or two on the sofa for your input this morning!

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Apr-20 07:56:34

Glorybee if you post something inadvertently you need to ask Gransnet to delete it for you using the 'report' section in the grey bar above the post.
It seems quite appropriate for this thread doesn't it?
too much like hard work to do it for ourselves

Glorybee Wed 22-Apr-20 07:45:44

Without putting anyone to any unnecessary effort on this chilled out thread, could someone please tell me how to delete a post in case anything ever did end up in the wrong place? I have an oldish iPad and couldn’t find anything to help me! I would’ve thought it would be quite simple!

Jang Wed 22-Apr-20 07:41:27

Ah I was going to sort the wardrobe/cupboards for charity.. but then thought where can I store it? as shops are closed... so it's all safely back in it's place.. waiting! Am gardening and quilting, mending, altering, baking..... but then that's what I did before! so no change here......

Maybelater2020 Wed 22-Apr-20 07:25:02

Grandmafrench grin

Gummie. I think that could be classed as a new skill

Glorybee Wed 22-Apr-20 07:03:53

Phew, no it isn’t after all! I thought I’d accidentally posted on one of those serious political threads - well that was exhausting, I need a cup of coffee and another sit down.
