Good Morning Thursday
(94 Posts)Good morning Mick and everyone.
I've been awake since 4am and am on my 2nd cuppa.
It's going to be another nice day. Might manage lunch on the patio.
Have a good day, stay safe everyone.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and bright.
I see you have your day all mapped out Mick.
I was a busy bee yesterday. Did what I wanted to do and a bit more. Today will be much the same.
My friends called by yesterday and the husband said they were checking up on the old people which makes me laugh because I am the youngest out of us.
I hope you had a steadier day yesterday BlueSapphire and good luck for your new job start Scentia
Best wishes to all who have worries and hope that your day is the best it can be ?
Good Morning Michael and Ninathenana and all .
Looks like another lovely day , less wind yesterday so we managed to sit out , I got a bit of crochet done
My legs wouldn’t let me do my usual brisk trot up and down the garden , hope they play better today
This incarceration is a bit wearing , my neighbour who usually pops in for a natter at least once a week , was on the phone for at least half an hour , not that we had anything to say that was new . We haven’t heard from old friends and have planned taking it in turns to call and try and keep in touch
Good Morning from another lovely morning in the Black Country.
Yesterday I made a start on cleaning our drive. It is block paving, and there is moss and some weeds between every brick! Using a long handled wire brush I am going between every brick! Just doing a small patch every day. It will probably take well over a week as it is a large drive. It really makes my back ache, so slow and steady, a small patch at a time. as I have plenty of that at the moment
Partner is still clearing the bottom third of our garden, which is a massive job too.
Mum was so thrilled to have a parcel of CD's of40's music sent from my Niece in Australia. She posted it the middle of March, arrived yesterday! She says there have been no new cases of the Virus in Queensland in the past week, until yesterday when 2 were reported!
Good luck in your new job Scentia
Wishing you all the best day you can have
Good morning Mick and everyone. The sun is just appearing and I'm expecting it to be another lovely day in Cheshire. I shall walk in bluebell woods for an hour at 9.00 and that sets me up for the day. I spend as much time as possible living in the garden pottering or sitting reading in the fresh air.
Yesterday's calamity was a broken tooth. I had to give myself a severe talking to for panicking as others are dealing with far worse. The dentist had noticed a fine crack last time. I'll be fine as long as I can get an early appointment when lockdown is eased. I shouldn't have eaten that lovely crusty bread with butter and preserve. That'll learn me.
aggie I find chatting with friends not only passes the time, it keeps me grounded. We're staying in touch a lot more than usual now. Good luck with the new job Scentia and hope everyone has the best day they can.
Good morning everyone. Another lovely day in E Kent but with a keen NE wind. I'll probably water the garden today.
I'm very excited - my Spanish teacher has organised a Zoom session today! Yay!!!
small things and all that...
Keep well and safe
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. A cooler morning today. It is nice you remembered my new job today, thankyou.xx. My first shift was changed from a night to a day and I am sat out side the workplace now. Just the 30 minutes early!!! I have a 15 hour shift so it is worth the travelling.
I took the dog for a dawn walk this morning and it was lovely, I may do it again. Lots of foxes and other animals on their way home. Lovely birdsong.❤️
Hopefully everyone has a good day, take care of yourselves and stay safe.xx
Ginny I was due a filling on 6th April, but of course it was cancelled. Then 2 weeks ago a part of that tooth broke off. It was very sore, but I rinsed my mouth with salt water for a week, and it has eased it now.
Ringing my Dentist, all they could do was send antibiotics. They made an appointment for 26th May, Just hoping that will go ahead.
Morning all from a blustery north Wales- hope it brightens up later. DGS birthday today and have just texted him, will get to FaceTime later - always a happy little soul and still giving hugs (in normal times) in spite of being at ‘big’ school!
Blueberry pancakes for breakfast ? and some dusting and polishing - all the sunshine shows every smudge and speck and I can only ? at it for so long!
Have a good day today folks and stay well x
Good morning from Manchester. I can just see the sun peeping through the trees, not quite full sun yet. Had a gorgeous 4 mile walk yesterday. It really does lift us. I got some flour in my click and collect slot!!! Made scones in the afternoon, had them with jam, no cream but hey ho. While reading in bed last night decided to click on asda site and got another C&C slot for 8 days time. Think luck was on my side. Just wondering when we will ever be able to hug our loved ones, especially the little ones. Have a good day everyone. (((hugs)))
for those with extra worries and wobbles.
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another grey day! I think you’ve all got our weather. It was hot and sunny yesterday afternoon but it seems we can’t have two nice days strung together. Oh well, eventually we will get sunny days every day!
Himself is getting dressed to go over for our groceries from the SuperSol. Our neighbour passed her small list across yesterday.
Good luck at work Scentia. Did you tell us what your new job actually is? I must have missed it. But seriously, a 15 hour shift? Is that even legally allowed? It’s almost two days worth of work all at one go!
Hope you had a better day yesterday Blue and dragonfly. It’s harder some days than others isn’t it?
Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
Morning Mick and All.
Another lovely sunny day in South Bucks.
Mick you are allowed to go for a half hour walk each day, so you could fit that into your daily schedule. I definitely feel better getting out into the fresh air.
I have been trying to get on top of my paperwork, but it never seems to end.
Good morning everyone from a sunny Northampton. Forecast is good for today so this afternoon I shall do a couple of little jobs in the garden and then sit in the sun and read. I shall take the cats out as well; they love rooting about in the borders and sunbathing. They need supervision as they are pedigree housecats. Usually they have had enough after half an hour and go and sit by the back door waiting to go in.
I kept busy yesterday and had a much better day. Did a few jobs in the garden and then cut the grass in the afternoon, followed by reading in the lovely sunshine. DS popped down and left rainbow? pictures that the DGDs had done in the front porch. I have just put them up on a front window. Then after dinner we had a family pub quiz via an online site on Facebook and WhatsApp, which was great fun!
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning from a cloudy Oxfordshire, we are forecast to have a lovely warm day, so fingers crossed.More of the same today, gardening and sorting the shed for me, DH has a final coat of varnish to put onto the front doors, he can’t do it until the sun goes away, so we had to stay up until midnight last night to make sure it was dry enough to close both doors. Yawn! But he did bring 35 huge bags of soil down into the garden yesterday, with a wheel barrow that has a flat tyre, the veg we grow will be the most expensive veg we will ever have eaten.
We have a family member who is sadly slipping away, so we are waiting for a phone call....... we dread the phone ringing at the moment, but its worse that we can’t be there with her, we wondered if we would see her again when we all went into lock down and self isolation.
Anyway, have a good day everyone and stay safe.
P.s. happy St George’s Day!
Good morning from east London, the sky is blue, the sun is shining. Helping at the foodbank this morning, then a distancing visit to DD later; goodness me, 31 years ago.... Her birthday cake, lemon drizzle, has a dip in it as I opened the oven at wrong time, but it should taste OK. GD apparently has planned a surprise for DD; she told me on the phone that she didn’t want to go with us as she wanted to stay with mummy even tho she really wants to come and see us. I reassured her we won’t be taking her anywhere (taxi service to her dad’s is not operating at the moment). This evening, after the clap, it’s my choir again; the new term starts. Have a good day.
Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Inverness. The weather is just great up here just now, clear blue skies with just a light breeze, so lovely !
So sorry to hear your sad news Oopsadaisy sending hugs ?
I can’t believe it’s Thursday already, the days seem to be passing quickly even though there’s nothing happening.
Both DDs are really busy working from home and homeschooling their little ones, here am I with loads of time on my hands and I just can’t help in any way !
I hope everyone finds something to enjoy today
Take care and special hugs to everyone facing wobbles, worries and struggles ?
Morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire and Happy St George's Day.
I have bathrooms to clean today!
I too thought a 15 hour shift was very long and a journey to get there. Do take care Scentia.
Thank you for your concern NannyJan53 I hadn't thought I might need antibiotics. I'll see how if goes. Rinsing with salt water and using a water pick at the moment and keeping it very clean.
Good morning from another sunny day in Cheshire. Today's forecast is it's going to be a hot one! I was busy again yesterday sewing the hospital scrubs and will do the same this morning, but intend to spend the afternoon enjoying the sun in our garden. Himself has been cutting down 2 nearly dead conifers, and because the tip is closed, he has been buring some of the wood in our chimnea (8.00pm onwards, to be mindful of the neighbours). He sits out there quite happily for a couple of hours, wrapped up (it still gets quite cold in the evenings) and I take him out the occasional cuppa. I hate the cold, so am afraid he's on his own ? Trouble is there is now a large gap where the trees were and we can't fill it with anything yet - hope the garden centres open soon!
Scentia good luck with the new job - 15 hour shift sounds quite gruelling, hope it's not too taxing. Lets us know how you get on. Best wishes to all who are struggling and hope the sunshine helps to cheer you up. Take care.
Good morning and Happy St George's Day from sunny Colchester.
Waiting for the bin men this morning as the road is heaped with six weeks worth of recycling.
Will spend the day in the garden as 21° is forecast.
We do Jay's pub quiz on YouTube every Thursday night after the NHS clap. It's a laugh with our extended family over Facebook messenger. Will record the Big Night In and skip over the boring bits later.
Big hugs to all
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Could you do a long distance clean on our bathrooms too please Kitty? There is an ironing pile with my name on it ... I may go now and start it - DH had a bad night but he is asleep now. I’ll creep out.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning Mick and the GM team from a sunny east London.
Feeling better each day and had a good phone consultation with one of the GP’s at our practice.
We were very upset to learn that a GP in our borough has died from Covid 19. It made me concerned for the kind young doctor, who phoned me at 7.40pm last night. ?
Had a lovely day in the garden yesterday, listened to an interesting play on the radio about the life and challenges faced by Mary Ann Evans (George Elliot).
I am working on a large tapestry cushion cover, the design of which is based upon a piece of 18th century damask. The colours are all different shades of blue, which you would imagine makes it more straight forward. However, it actually makes it more complicated because there are so many shades of the same colour.
Hope everyone has a good day, special thoughts to those facing challenges and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?
Something of interest to you.
Being on Facebook ,one of my friends who I have mentioned on GM as to the virus.
Has posted on his experience of getting the Corona Virus ,as like going through HELL, but coming out the other side OK .
The retirement home he lives in Middlesborough ,was fumigated etc, and people he had mixed with also tested.
