Three signs that summer’s coming....

1. I’m now wearing summer trousers, not jeans.
2. Gave myself a much-needed pedicure today, feet were too hideous to display in sandals.
3. REALLY fancied a long, cold, G&T after our walk earlier (thank goodness we had the wherewithal) - now sitting in the garden to drink it.

Having said all that, no doubt Sod’s Law will now mean it’s freezing cold and p*ssing down all next week! (Let’s hope not)

Have been eating outside for the past week,

Garden has sprung to life and have watered everyday

I have been wearing shorts for the past 2 weeks.

Rain is now forecast for the next 10 days! hmm Back to normal then smile

Boots are ditched.
The leaves are on the trees.
The blossom is out.
The house is showing all the accumulated winter dirtblush.

The weather in the south has been glorious - good summer weather - but rain is forecast for tomorrow and the rest of the week. I hope this doesn’t last too long as the lockdown has been so much more bearable with the good weather.

Large G&T on patio after dinner at night..

Well, I did mention Sod’s Law, @Hetty58!

(We really could do with some rain here, but I’m only whispering that.)

I’ve seen a downland blue butterfly as well . What a cheering site..... they seem to love my Hebe bushes

1. I've been sewing seeds in the garden.
2. Husband is digging out a new path.
3. I had a salad lunch outdoors and treated myself to a glass of cider instead of a cup of tea.

Saw a swallow the other day.
Woods are swathed in wild garlic and/or bluebells.
Greenhouse is full to the brim with sprouting seeds.
Lunch outside every day.
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow (rain, cool).

Summer duvet out, winter one put away
Garden needs watering every day
B****y hayfever taken hold with a vengeance.

Talking of bluebells, a dd sent this pic the other day -in woods close to their house in Oxford.

I have left my vest off
Saw a couple of lizards in the garden in the sun
Got my summer tops out of storage and found that some of them have shrunk over the winter! That’s never happened before!

Esspee Mon 27-Apr-20 09:41:49

@narrowboatnan. The shrinkage is due to the pandemic.
Please see the attachment for a fuller explanation.

It isn't very warm in west Northumberland either gillybob. I'm still wearing my fleecy winter jumper!
The leaves have unfurled on some of the trees, I love the fresh spring green.
The sparrows are busy nesting all around my house.
The grandchildren have had the paddling pool out. Brr!

Two roses in flower already.
All my sweet pea seeds have grown in the greenhouse.
My berberis hedge has flowered for the first time.

Here the weather has been sunny, dry and mild since before Easter.

I have now weeded the path, all 15 metres of it, and most of the vegetable garden.

Cat taking his afternoon nap curled up tight behind a pile of brushwood. Yesterday, he climbed the pear tree to the consternation of a crow.

The dandelions are in full bloom, so yes, summer is definitely on the way.

Witzend Mon 27-Apr-20 14:24:44

I love that, @Esspee!

I dealt with the beginnings of a wasps' nest in the cavity wall of my house at the weekend - SUMMER'S COMING!! sunshine
