Good morning everyone. Dull and grey in Chester with rain expected later. I must get dressed and out for an early walk then will just see how the day unfolds. Have the best day you can all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dreary and wet in South Yorkshire this morning. We may get out later if it dries up a bit, and hopefully it won’t be too muddy in the lanes. I am sinking into a new lockdown low at the moment so have to drag myself out of it again. Braised gammon for dinner and the leftovers will be made into soup, at DH’s request. Have a good safe day, folks.

Made scones yesterday, that about sums up my day! Hopefully get out and carry on with clearing between the paving slabs on the drive today if the rain holds off. It looks so much better the section I have done.

Sark I did laugh at your cat growling at the parcel delivery. We have three cats and they are the most nosy creatures and MUST know about everything that happens or anything that comes into the house.

Yesterday evening my neighbour, who is fasting for Ramadan, arrived at our door with a (socially distanced) plate of delicious samosas, pakoras, bahjis and a cucumber raita dip. She prepares lovely food for her family to break their fast and we are often the fortunate recipients of her largesse.
All I had to offer in return was a bag of carrots, as I got 2 in my veg box...

I was so cold yesterday we turned up the heating and lit the fire. The cats, of course will lounge in front of the fire at any time ...

Good morning from a cold, but now dry Cheshire. Had amazing service yesterday from our local chemist; himself had ordered online his repeat prescrition, usually he gets a text a day or so later from the chemist to say script ready for collection. The online request was submitted at 9.00am, and at 11.00am the same day the tablets were delivered to our house! We hadn't requested a delivery, I was fully expecting to have to go and collect it. Later, the same day, himself also had a telephone consultation with our doctor regarding blocked ears, sure enough, an hour later, the prescription for that was delivered! Now that's what I call service ???

Sorry to hear Dexter will probably need an operation, but it's for the best if it sorts him out. I am a little worried about our dog, Sam, she has arthritis in her back leg and is on medication for it; I think it must be bothering her more than usual as yesterday she refused to go for her daily walk - never known her do that, ever. So, will now have to give her paracetamol, which was suggested by the vet. Hope that sorts her out.

We have an empty room too kitty awaiting new carpet and furniture.We ordered the carpet a few days before lockdown but hadn’t decided on the furniture so it will be empty If beautifully decorated for a while yet!
Glad your daughter is going to confront the bully if he starts again Marydoll,our daughters would be exactly the same.

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another cold and grey start to the day. No expectations of any much needed sunshine later either. Can you send a bit of that warmth over here please Urms I’ve just had to put the heating on.

A big shop for my dad later today which I absolutely dread. I have to go to the supermarket nearest him as have to pick up and return his card which makes going anywhere else very impractical . Last week saw me in floods of tears at the checkout . Has to be done though .

I’m sorry that I missed you had fallen off your bike last week Scentia I had a different kind of wobble myself, so must’ve missed you. Your leg looks very sore. Poor you .

Glad your DD is taking over where the nutter/bully/idiot neighbour is concerned Marydoll I think he needs a good telling off !

I’m so glad the vet sounds hopeful for Dexter’s eye Dragonfly .

Good Morning from a dull but dry Fife hopefully it will brighten later. Yesterday took a walk over the golf course and found a path that took me to our lovely Farm shop where I purchased two punnets of their freshly picked strawberries and a home baked coffee and walnut cake. First time in a shop for six weeks and I'll be back! Off to do some housework this morning as I like to keep to my weekly routine.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Cheshire. It's a bit wild and wet out there, but I will venture out to the woods as I need to blow the cobwebs away. I know many would like to have my problem of long morning chats with my DD, and it's mostly about work, but it's contact. I start a post and then have come back to it after about an hour!

A kind neighbour sawed in half a large frame for my silk painting so I can now have three frames on the go.

Going to have to be very inventive with meals as I'm waiting till May 4th for a supermarket delivery and that's from two weeks ago. I have wonderful neighbours fortunately. As we live so far from shops I tend to have plenty of home made soups and meals in the freezer anyway.

Made me smile about your rocket taking off Marydoll. Like to imagine the onion bhargies lurking in your freezer Lins they sound quite menacing!

Good morning all from a very grey looking County Durham.
My online shop arrived yesterday, I really don't think I will ever go back to actual supermarket shopping again after all of this as I'm finding it so much easier. However I am noticing a steady price rise in popular brands!
My DD sent a video of GD1 online ballet audition yesterday which was beautiful. She is such a little star ( yes GM pride). If she passes she will enter Year 3 as an associate of Scottish Ballet. She's working so very hard on both ballet and gymnastics while in lockdown. Fingers crossed for her this week. It must be so hard at the moment for all our athletes to keep going with their training.
We really must take the car out today otherwise it will seize up. Our plan is to visit a quiet garden in the grounds of an old seminary (now closed). The journey is less than a few minutes so we will most certainly be walking longer than driving. I would never venture further as there are so many rural communities nearby.
I was so sad to hear about your neighbour Marydoll. How very upsetting for you to have such an unpleasant little spy on the street. What a sad life he must lead.

Good to read that Urmstongran is on a well deserved high. So much to look forward to with the loosening of restrictions in Spain.
Let's hope we in the UK use caution as, I believe, too many freedoms could cause another spike.
Still, we might get some wear out of the summer clothes we bought before this mess started.
I had a weird dream last night. I was sitting in sand dunes letting the sand run through my fingers and looking out to sea. James Martin (chef) invited me to drive his car but first we went to his house where the police arrived as he had no insurance. Other people were there, drinking on the patio and I wanted to empty my sandals as they were full of sand but he said not to bother.
I was about 10yrs old.
I don't even like JM so no idea how he came into it. ??
My run was uneventful, saw not a soul and caught the last of the rain but a hot shower and coffee soon cheered me up and I can see blue sky beginning to poke through the grey...and sunshine☀️☀️...hurrah ?.
Hermes delivery today from Amazon -
those multistorey pots to put strawberry plants in, lime green, they'll look fab.
Large Sainsos delivery too which I'll need to divide.
Need bread n milk from M&S tomorrow and that will be me sorted until next week.

Virtual yarn group and pure excitement: The weekly delivery via a volunteer from the local shop and from Lidl.
Do Lidl still have the non food stuff? I miss not being able to browse buy things I don't need

Ooh Largolass exactly my kind of shopping! I adore farm shops. I wish I could walk to one at home - lucky you! There’s a great one in Yorkshire near to where a friend lives in Holmfirth - it also has a dining area. I’d never shop anywhere else if it was on my doorstep!

Morning everyone. Sunny and blue here. It’ll be about 20deg C after lunch, so not too warm to use our new weed-pulling tool to grab them out of our lawn. We can then complete the re-seeding. Loads to do......I knew I’d run out of Lockdown Time. ☹️

Very pleased to see the attention given to a plan by the Govt here for the next few weeks will mean that IF the virus starts to take hold again, we’re all back indoors. Meanwhile shops will open on the 11 May, everyone working in and going into them to wear a mask, same on public transport, school pupils over 11 to wear masks, no more permits needed to leave our homes unless we’re 100km plus from home. This means we can go out when we want, or drive to somewhere different, and quiet, picnic, sightsee and have fun with the dogs. I am not ready for any socialising yet, whatever they say and in spite of strict Social distancing rules, and I’m sad about still no beaches! Tourism still on hold - of course, no bars, cafés, restos, cinemas, etc., BUT talks are ongoing about moving all the school holidays back for maybe a year. This means here that the long summer break would start later and schools would not return until mid to late September and allow this whole crisis to settle further.

My local DD1 has a spying neighbour too who seems to watch everyone’s coming and going although he’s never actually said anything to anyone so fortunately they can treat it as a joke.
A couple of weeks ago-in that lovely weather-we were out in our garden, next door and next door but one were each out with 3 children each all under 6 and asthmatic neighbour other side out when suddenly we were enveloped in smoke-thought there must be a serious fire so I shouted «where’s it coming from?» when man -oik-over back appeared like a bull. It was his bonfire burning his garden waste cos it wasn’t being collected. I said we’re all in the same boat, put it out, «can’t» he said, try water (dear Henry!). Well we all had to go in retrieving washing too. He apologised to DH the next day (after he did it again all day) so all his rubbish gone now. I’m not the sort to have a wobble but I did and was anxious about going out-we have a large garden which I’ve been walking round cos we’re staying in (Captain Tom has nothing on me-although I’m not 100 ?) so I can well understand how feel Marydoll. Forgive long winded rant. As DD says «okay, now breathe»!

Good morning from the sunny north of Scotland. Can't believe it is another sunny day. That is some bruise Scentia. It is a bit weird that I don't have a single mark on me after my collision with the pavement on Sunday. The pain is easing off slightly as treating with paracetamol/ibrufen and the heated throw. Retired nursing friend says it could take 2/3 weeks so really need to stop feeling sorry for myself. That's lovely about your GD1 Annapops. You didn't say how old she is but it sounds as though she is an achiever - good luck to her. Great news from Spain Urmstongran - not just about the sun but the way the emergence from lock down is being handled - should give us hope too.

Good morning all from a dull mid-Notts. Rained hard during the night but fine atm. Very still too - we live opposite a millpond and as the saying goes "calm as a millpond"....!! The mindfulness yesterday was surprisingly good and I think enabled me to get rid of an unkind comment made to me by a family member around 20 years ago but has lingered in my mind all that time. Maybe sounds a bit silly but that's how it was . Need to finish my sainsbury's shop today - delivery tomorrow evening. Hopefully complete a few more covid hearts too. Ushaw college by any chance Annapops ? DS worked there until lockdown.
My days are governed by what we will eat, have been without bread for a few days now.
We are reading a lot of books, DH about four times faster than me, if he doesn't pace himself he will have to resort to some chick lit.

Good morning from a cold damp Morecambe Bay. I’m just back in from my walk which was a bit later than usual. No sun streaming through the window to wake me. I’ve come in and sat down to read the good morning posts before posting myself.
Our daily exercise today is “Gym 1” our own devised set of exercises which include lots of squats, lunges and other torture moves with running on the spot in between each set of moves.
At least today’s routine doesn’t include the dreaded burpees! (That’s in our Gym 2 which this week will be Friday morning)
Not sure yet what I’ll do this afternoon, perhaps investigate some more sewing.
