Good Morning Everyone,
Its another grey start and wet as well this morning in Brackley.
Shop this morning, a few things needed , planning my Sunday and Monday slow cooker meal , a mix of frozen and can in the meal plus other things to spice it up.
Once shopped ,will lockdown as that is also a form of exercise, trying to get what I want at a reasonable pace, and then carry it home.
I heard from someone email wise who is stranded in the US, but sees her sons over there , I shared as to lockdown with her and she told me where she its very laid back, but going to the bank one person at a time.
She describes the UK as being to regimented in its lockdown.
take care
Mick

Good Morning All x
Not the nicest morning weatherwise, it's dark, damp, dreary and cold with it. Supposed to be bucking up later so we'll see.
I'll give the bathroom and kitchen a whoosh round and that'll be the daily cleaning done grin

I enjoyed my sausage and mash yesterday and because I've got two lovely pork sausages left I'll do a saus. and bean casserole to finish them off, they were delicious.I can throw a potato in the oven to bake at the same time so that's me sorted. It'll fill a hole smile

Not much else on the agenda apart from ringing D to see how she's getting on. Brother rings every week and he's scared poor thing but I put him at his ease and chase him back into his garden which sounds like an allotment shock

Dexter will be fine with the vet, as they're as good as our surgeons if not better as their "patients" can't speak. Hope he does alright x

Hooray for the sun and warmth for Urmston it does make a difference and of course it's what you expect in Spain. Get those chairs out !

Sark, I too have a growling cat. She really has got a deep voice for such a pretty looking part-Persian grin you'd wonder where the noise comes from. It happens if a strange cat is in the garden----so we don't get many strange cats because of her bellowing growl.

That's some bruise Scentia, good job it isn't shorts weather, well it isn't here anyway. It'll go soon after it's changed colour smile

Stay safe everyone and take care whatever you do xx

Good morning from a chilly, damp Manchester. Back to our usual weather! Went into the loft to sort old photos out yesterday. Spent so long looking through them and putting lots of them back I got nowhere near clearing any of them. Bedtime story with dgs 2 last night. I love it, just want to reach through the screen to hug him! Urmston so pleased your weather is good again (think you have stolen it from us!). I can feel your joy. The salon in our village in Spain is opening on 5th May. Wish it was the same here?. Have the best day you can. (((hugs))) flowers for those with extra worries and wobbles.

Goooooood morning everyone.....
Yes, it's a cloudy bleak day up here in Yorkshire BUT it's not going to dampen my spirits. We should all give ourselves a huge pat on the back for passing 5 weeks of lockdown.... positivity is the only way forward ... ♡smile

Good morning all from a pretty dull and damp Glasgow. Not raining at the moment so I have managed to do a bit of replanting in softer soil.

Had a long FaceTime with DGs yesterday. Two happy girls who had received the bits and pièces DH had sent them. One was a 1,000 piece of cats and another, a pogo stick which they love.
Grampa of course got serious brownie points?

DD2 in Australia who, to my knowledge, has never baked, made a batch of Anzac biscuits which according to SiL are delicious so, she made another batch just to prove the first one wasn’t a fluke and she has sent me the recipe and a pic of her achievement.

Fingers crossed for Dexter Dragonfly. It’s a big worry when our pets have problems?
Dear gilly. Hope your supermarket visit goes without stress. Just imagine we are all mingling in the supermarket with you helping you along with a cheery smile??
Ouch, that looks a sore one Scentia. I am a very clumsy type and as soon as I bang into something I rub vinegar on the area to stop bruising which often works.
I can feel your excitement from here Urmstongran. Yipee. Happier days ahead?

Have the best day you can everyone and to those of you feeling low, I hope you find something to lift your spirits today

Good morning from beautiful Salisbury. I'm looking out of my study window seeing raindrops trickling down. Its quite chilly too and i'm still in my dressing gown. Feeling a little peeved at the moment as received three plugs of geraniums in the post yesterday. Cant believe I Paid £10.00 for two leaves, the on-line garden centres are certainly making a fortune at the moment. Last time I order from that company. Miss popping down to local garden centre at Wilton and being greeted by a vision of colour and so many plants to select. I know those days will return and I should't moan but sometimes it helps. No gardening today - wishing you all a good and safe day.

Good Morning from an overcast, north Cambridgeshire, after a wet day yesterday, there is rain forecast for this afternoon. Welcome rain for the gardens & growers & farmers here, but the recent sun has helped us through this enforced time at home. We are really missing not being able to get to our "holiday-home-from-home", in north-west Norfolk, so look forward to the posts from that area. Obviously, we also miss visits to & from our children & 5 grandchildren. Thank you all for your posts on here, what a nice, friendly group you are.

gillybob Wed 29-Apr-20 11:12:59

Thank you Kalu I shall do that smile

Welcome to you SheilaMary (I haven’t spoken to you before so assume you are new....apologies if not) I posted last week about the excuses of plants I received from Sutton’s . Disgusting . They have closed their phone lines and are not responding to emails. Looking at their reviews on Trust Pilot it would seem that there are a lot more than me feeling the same way. They took £48 from me way back before this CV and I have received 2 dead lupins and one fighting for its life . The rest I have given up on .

gillybob Wed 29-Apr-20 11:15:06

Good morning and welcome to you too gillgran. I too am missing my 4 DGC so much it hurts . I’m in the deepest depths of Geordieland so the sun hasn’t featured much here yet.

Good morning from a wet and grim market Harborough. Hope you are all staying safe and sane. X

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 29-Apr-20 11:22:12

Morning Mick, another dreich day in Harrogate! We had a shower and are expecting more, but still I dare to put a wash on and hope to get it hung out - nothing quite like hanging the wash outside!!

Rosalyn69 Wed 29-Apr-20 11:23:02

Good morning from wet Gower.
Groundhog Day but it that’s strangely comforting.

Kalu Wed 29-Apr-20 11:56:03

I agree Rosalyn After being at home for so many weeks I mostly do feel a calmness and acceptance of what we are doing is for the good. I can set my own routine without thoughts of, must do this, must do that. Filling my day with whatever I decide needs attention.

Well good afternoon, its past 12 now. its rainign here on the Suth Coast and cold too sad Lockdown means different in each country, frinds living in Hong Kong are on a strict lockdown but other friendsa in Indonesia are on lockdown but still going out to dinner, restaurants are still open but hotels closed until mid May, Our friends in California are on strict lockdown but in Memphis our friends living there go out to dinner still! Indian ocean islands are same on lockdown but everything remains the same and our good friends in Northern India are on a very strict lockdown but concerned as some people just ignore even that. i guess it depends upon how many cases of the "Virus" they have along with the regioanl attitude towards "life"

juju17 Wed 29-Apr-20 13:51:19

I love reading all the posts on here so thought I’d join in! Writing from a soggy Warwickshire.

Urmstongran Wed 29-Apr-20 19:23:31

I had a charming surprise this afternoon when my ladies picked up their shopping from the Sainsbury's delivery. They both paid right away into my bank and one presented me with a dozen roses from M&S.
When I pointed out that they had both overpaid by several pounds as the actual bill was less than the original pricing when the order was made, due to fluctuations and one unavailable item, they told me to keep it.
I suggested buying goods for a food bank or hand-creams for our local health centre nurses which they thought a good idea.
I felt sorry for the driver. It was tippling and there were 7 crates. ☹️
They deserve medals.
Have you all had a decent day?
Sleep well ?? and see you tomorrow ??

GabriellaG54 Wed 29-Apr-20 21:03:31

JuJu...??
You know what that is...don't you?

grannylyn65 Wed 29-Apr-20 21:12:11

Was inspired to make a tea loaf. Burnt It ??

GabriellaG54 Wed 29-Apr-20 21:24:40

Oh dear ☹️
Is it salvageable, y'know, scrape off the burnt bits...
I actually prefer very well done cakes and pastry and by well done I mean overcooked.
If it's burnt to a cinder maybe the birds could feast on it.
Better luck next time ??

Good morning everyone from Yorkshire...

I glance out from my kitchen window and I see blue sky but the clouds are lurking , it's also chilly.

Today I am going to go to Morrisons to get weekly food.... the reason I choose a big supermarket is because I need a hair dye ( hahahaha) and no way am i just going to a supermarket for 1 item - a hair dye, so i am doing all my shopping in 1 go.

I am then continuing to sew a patchwork drawstring bag for my friend, I started it yesterday, it's made up of a lot of her GC clothes.

Hope everyone has a lovely day doing whatever they do and we WILL get through this, we will.. sunshine

Marydoll Thu 30-Apr-20 10:26:59
