DAY OUT.

I love Portmerion but its ages since we went. Must go again soon.

It was a very hot day the last time I was there , part of a bus tour . It is very pretty but so busy that it was hard to get to see it all
I would love to visit on a quiet day

portmeirion gets absolutely packed, heaving and it is very twee. One visit in a lifetime was enough

We stayed there as part of DH's 60 the birthday surprise years ago. He was fan of the Prisoner, so I booked a cottage.
We loved it and the food in the restaurant was delicious.
I would go. back in a heartbeat.
We are keen to return to see more of Wales, but I don't envisage that happening now.

I would like a walk on a sandy beach with the waves lapping my toes and warm sunshine on my back.

Portmeirion was somewhere I always wanted to visit so we visited while in the area about ten years ago.

I only saw the last two minutes and was left feeling must go when things are normal. Even the two minutes left me with a happier feeling than i have had in a while!

Loved our visit to Portmeirion it really is quirky but so recognisable from The Prisoner. I’ll make my mission to go again but it would be sadly without my lovely DH this time.

Me too Beechnut hopefully we will get to La Rochelle and Ile de Re at some point, can't wait.

DH and I visited Portmerion many years ago. I found it very pretty and quirky but also slightly unnerving. Like a person who remains smiling inappropriately.

A picture came up in my Facebook Memories from last year's Easter Sunday trip to Portobello . It was a very warm sunshiney day and we all paddled except DGD who stripped to her underwear and swam. Seeing this picture made me yearn even more to go to the sea. I really need to check that it is still there and going in and out as usual. Perhaps GNs who live at the coast can reassure me?

I would go to visit Highgrove, Prince Charles’ gardens. This was the year I was really going to get booked and go.

Yes Granny23 the sea is still there. I can see it from afar as I stare out the kitchen window waiting for the kettle to boil. There are several cruise ships an anchor out at sea.
My idea of a day out would just be to DDs for a family lunch with everyone.

Granny23. I lived in Portobello when I fairly recently married. My son was born there!
I thin’ id go to Hebden Bridge (not in the euphemistic sense ,!) and meet family there as it’s halfway.

We saw the programme and thought it would be lovely to go later on this year, depending on the virus situation of course.

I went as a child and can remember it so would love to have perhaps a long weekend there in one of the hotels.

I have a feeling we won’t be holidaying abroad this year!

I would just love to take a 20 minute drive to Burton RSPB site in Cheshire. I would walk in the woods and enjoy the bluebells, maybe take some photographs, then spend some time birdwatching from the hides. Simple pleasures. I hope I don't miss the bluebells this year.

Love Llandudno too bikergran. A walk on the Great Orme would be good.

Anywhere I could meet up with my best friend from Wales. I saw her at Christmas and she was planned to visit me just before lockdown and obviously didn’t come. We have been friends since we were 9 and I’m now nearly 67. She is like my sister and I miss her so much

I had no idea who he was. Knew nothing about the show. But I loved Portmeirion Village

I'm with you Beechnut, sand in my toes, a beach where I can take my little dog. Portmerion is lovely, had a beautiful day out there. Best time to go is when there's something big on TV, like an international footie or rugby match etc as may be fewer people out and about (works at Ikea too)

West Wittering just to walk along the sandy beach and feel the sand between by toes,coffee in the cafe on the beach and a late lunch on our way home in a sun filled pub garden.

We had a couple of nights at Portmeirion years ago, DH booked it for me as a treat for a special birthday. It wasn't that busy and we really enjoyed it.
The strange part was driving away and seeing normality as soon as we left the village.

As we won't be flying off any time soon we might go to the East Coast, although we will have to have more than a day.

So many beautiful places around the country! My dog, too would love to visit a beach. Her favourite is Portobello, near Edinburgh. Extra benefit would be close to my daughter.
