Each to their own, but to me an immaculate house is a sign that the internet must be down.

I understand! I only have one cat now and he sheds lots of fur especially when it’s moulting time.

As others have said, I wait until the job is absolutely necessary, and then I take my glasses off. All fine.

I have a quick wizz round every morning with a cordless vacuum and a good hoover with Hettie once a week. Reason - I have two longhaired cats and a dog and a husband with asthma so if I quickly wizz round each morning he lives to see another day (joke - we gave been married 32 years and cats were always part of the bargain)

I'm allergic to dust, so I keep as far away as possible!

We have a 'Henry'.....I really don't like the malevolent look on his face and only use him as rarely as possible.

I am vacuuming less than usual because, without grandchildren coming to play on the floor and drop crumbs on it, it doesn't need doing so often.
We do have a small hand held cleaner and we use that every few days to clean around the budgie's cage, but we don't have any hairy pets. Bits on the kitchen floor are picked up with a dustpan and brush.

Every day ? Nooooooooo. Only when needed, though this is more frequent since I began dog- sitting my daughter’s cavalier king charles spaniel whilst she works. I absolutely ADORE him. But OMG the hair ??

Twice since lockdown, but that’s only the sitting room. Once for the rest of the house, although we do sweep the kitchen floor every few days.

If I’ve got nothing better to do then I ‘might’ vacuum. I have a friend who I speak to daily on the phone who does nothing but tell me what housework she has done. I could almost say the conversation each time.

We had a wood burner installed a couple of years ago and use it a lot over winter. My husband loves this and So vacuumed every day on the ground floor. He did stop vacuuming when the warmer weather arrived so I asked him if he could continue over the summer and he is! Lucky me?

I went right off Dysons when the battery in the 3rd consecutive one I had bought conked out not too long after the end of the guarantee period ( again!). I thought the timing was too exact to be coincidental. I rang them and the young man said I was very unlucky as the last person he had spoken to had had the same model for 8 years On previous occasions they had been very quick to offer me a new battery at ? half the cost of a new machine which had been very expensive in the first place.
As all 3 had lasted little more than 2+ years (n with a 2-year guarantee)I decided to give Dysoning a rest. They were excellent while they worked but the expense was too great

When my back is up to it.... and it certainly isn't weekly I troll around a bit with my faithful 20 year old cylinder Miele
I haven't mentioned dusting as you can do marvels with the underwear as you take it downstairs to the wash. My mother always said I would turn into a .... you add your own word
Apropos cobwebs, did none of you read the scientific papers published a few years ago about the ability of spiders' webs to trap viruses ... that there were fewer Upper Respiratory Tract Infections in spider-friendly households. So Think On all you people who are being shielded. Perhaps your best plan is to encourage the spiders

I have discovered that I have a little mouse and despite efforts I have not managed to catch him in my humane trap. Although I can't see any mouse poo I hoover every day as I know there must be some. I also wash the floors (no carpets as I have asthma). as I know there must be mouse wee as well. I have only ever seen one mouse and hopefully he is a bachelor.

puzzler I never think of it like that tbh. I like it to be clean and clutter free but I dislike housework intensely which is why 5and a half days of the week it is completely ignored. But yes, it soundS boring to have a routine like that, but I have to have that or it would be chaotic.

Today is housework day and I’ve just finished for the week. The sitting room and conservatory got a good going over, everywhere else a quick dust and hoover. DH does upstairs so it isn’t too bad. Now done until next week.

And relax???. Freedom!! Beach on Wednesday with picnic. Not sure about loos though??

Not likely, once a week on average, or if someone is coming. Electrician coming on Thursday so will do it Thursday morning. We are spending most of our time in the garden. Cleaning lady not coming while we are in lockdown, she has a large multi-generation and blended family.

Hello! I can't imagine being so tied to daily vacuuming! Why is it important, unless you have a hair shedding pet? How dirty is a room after a few days or a week? Who are you doing it for everyone? Are you going to be judged if you leave it? Suit yourself. I do it when I think it needs it & that's a whole other conversation!

It doesn't seem to make any difference how frequently or infrequently I vacuum in my living room, there's always the same amount of gubbins in the cup thingy. I am vacuuming more often lately because I'm doing so many zoom meet ups and I'm concerned now, that I'm pulling stuff through the carpet, through the floor and out of the foundations and my house will eventually disappear into a sinkhole! Hopefully, if this happens, it will be after the lockdown is finally lifted so I can be out when it happens!

Only when I get down on my Pilates mat and can see how bad it is even without my glasses on ??

Not anymore, Tuesday's and Friday's are enough
