Good Morning Everyone,
Its a sunny start here in Brackley this morning, supposed to be a nice warm day in this part of the country as well.
Mid week shop , and get in que for the 8 opening.
return home some TV ,and some housework.
I am hoping that things in general will improve ,and slowly get back to some sort of normality.
Take care
Mick

I know Gabriella rejoined.

And, I do too, marydoll. I find it very patronising!!

Marydoll Wed 20-May-20 19:29:16

I really dislike the use of that word coven to describe other posters.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-May-20 18:58:43

Megs36 GabriellaG54 rejoined and has been posting regularly until three days ago.

Hello, know it’s not morning, but just thought I would mention that Gabriella ‘left’ back in Nov , probably because some GNs couldn’t take criticism and took offence. Let’s hope she comes back again this time and ignores the narrow minded coven. I

Thank you Taichinan,I will look out for those authors?

gillybob Wed 20-May-20 17:23:49

Welcome Georgesgran I’m in Tyneside so not far from you. My DD had a baby 2 years ago, (aged 33) . A huge surprise after being told she would never have children .

The weather has indeed been gorgeous today, for a change .

I look forward to seeing your posts on Mick’s lovely Good Morning thread. x

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 16:08:30

Hello Georgesgran you'll like be this thread. So sorry to hear about your DH - lymphoma is a horrid disease. You'll get lots of support on here. Hello to GranddadBrian too. You're right - I can't be doing with nastiness either and there's none on here. ??

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 15:48:21

Susan56 I too am a huge fan of Anne Cleves and the Shetland series must be one of the best there is. I have just got this one and am about to start reading. I also love LJ Ross and Ellie Griffiths. The joys of lockdown!

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 15:29:40

It seems to be a Mammawolf remembering day as I too have been thinking of her. I had only joined a couple of weeks when that terrible accident happened, but I always looked for her posts as they were so lovely and homely. I could just picture her farmhouse kitchen with them all preparing the food for the men, and then her walks down to the lower meadow and the daffodils there ........ She was truly lovely.

Welcome to GN Georgesgran

Welcome to G'net Georgesgran ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-May-20 12:54:44

Hello and welcome Georgesgran

GranddadBrian Wed 20-May-20 12:38:56

It’s nice to read so many nice comments, instead of rudeness
We need more
Be polite, and welcoming to new users
Assume good faith
Avoid personal attacks
Don’t say anything you yourself would find offensive.

Have a great day all.

Georgesgran Wed 20-May-20 12:18:54

First post on Good Morning.

Another NorthEast girl here, from the Land of the Prince Bishops.
I’ll be 70 next year and DH will be 70 in November. DH is very unwell having been diagnosed with stage 1V lymphoma in 2016. 4 courses of chemotherapy so far and still here - under the care of Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital. Been hospitalized in March and again in April with sepsis.

I have 2 DDs. Both married and living in suburb of Newcastle. DD1 has DGS George - very much loved, despite her saying she didn’t want children! He’s not yet 3, so she was a late mother. DD2 is a full time wheelchair user following a stroke when she was 12 - she’s inspirational!

Fabulous weather today, so off into the garden now. Hope everyone on GN has a good day and stays safe. X

Congratulations newatthis new babies bring so much love and joy into our world.

So sorry you are not able to visit and have a cuddle at the moment ??????

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 12:13:06

Congratulations Newatthis! I can see some very overworked video links looming in the future!

Daisyboots Wed 20-May-20 12:11:32

Just about good morning to Mick and everyone from a warm and sunny Silver Coast Portugal.. I like to read through before posting but it then makes it late.
I do hope your leg pains are due to your medication Dragonfly46 and soon go away.
Hopefully you will soon have Barclaygate sorted Gillybob You have been through so much and it's about time things got better for you.
Bellasnana how awful for your friend when she was already suffering so much but she is lucky to have such a good friend in you. A good friend of ours died in his home on Good Friday alone and was found by other friends. His wish had always been for his body to be returned to England for burial in his wife's grave. In the end it was not allowed and he had to be cremated here and his ashes returned to England which finally happened last week.
Oh Marydoll what awful suffering you have yet you are always so bright when you post. When my pain is bad I just want to hide away. It's bearable today so time I got up and did some pottering.
We moved here from West Norfolk Nflkdumpling so your posts always bring back memories.
I hope everyone has a good day whatever their plans.

Puzzler61 Wed 20-May-20 12:01:15

Congratulations Newatthis. You must feel very excited.

There will be lots of photo’s and no doubt FaceTime too so that you can see the little one.
Sorry for you that there is no visit on the cards soon. Nothing will be as satisfying as a cuddle with a newborn family member.

Newatthis Wed 20-May-20 11:39:55

Just become a grandma again (1 hour ago) so feeling elated and thrilled. Sadly Mum (DD) and baby live 5000 miles away and although we have flights booked, we cannot go!

Kate54 Wed 20-May-20 11:31:36

Quite agree JenniferEccles - I try and stand back and look at patterns in some of the GN threads which interest me. She probably got fed up with having to repeat the current restrictions to posters who didn’t seem to ‘get it’. There’s a bit of that going on here, too, but it’s such a nice, welcoming, non-controversial thread, that it doesn’t need sullying with criticism.
I’ve added my thoughts to the holiday home thread this morning (as I visited my house yesterday to deal with all the plants that have been quietly dying for two months).
Meanwhile, back in sunny S. Lincolnshire (property values pretty low) not a lot happening......moving a lot of pots (plants still alive in those) and other clutter, including two large much-loved gnomes, ready for a brave chap arriving tomorrow to jet wash all the slabbery. A visit to Lidl later to see how the social distancing is getting on and then a chicken curry to make.
Hoping there will be something on the TV tonight that won’t make me cry - The A Word last night set me off. But quite a lot does at the moment as many of you have found out.
Be as beat as you can manage - that’ll do for today.

JenniferEccles Wed 20-May-20 11:13:46

I remember Gabriella’s post.
It was on my ‘holiday homes’ thread. Yes she did have a bit of a dig at some people but surely it would have been possible to tackle her about it and discuss it?

Someone of course reported it and it was deleted.

Surely there is room on GN for posts which some might find controversial?

It will be a very sad day indeed if only bland and boring comments are allowed.

Purplepixie Wed 20-May-20 11:10:01

Good morning from a very sunny and warm East Midlands.

So far I have done a 50 minute walk before 9am and hung the washing out. Then DH did the shopping and it is all cleaned and put away. Relax time in the garden with a cuppa and then maybe read a book or do some more embroidery which I am enjoying, immensely. I am not a professional at embroidery but learning different stitches from the internet and a book.

Have a great day and stay safe and sane. X

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 10:52:56

Good morning Mike and all. We have ? on the Angus coast! Thought it had gone for good, so welcome back!. Haven't read through this lovely thread yet as I'm a late starter, but just wanted to say how dreadfully sad I am for your friend, Bellasnanna. I can't start to imagine how she must be feeling - the cruellest of situations. Thank goodness she has you with her. Now I'm off to start on another round of grass cutting before the good weather realises it's in the wrong place and leaves again. Hope to pop in later but if I don't make it, have the best day you can everyone. ??

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 20-May-20 10:46:43

Good morning Michael, from sunny Harrogate. Doesn't everywhere look so much better when the sun shines? Hubby is at the hospital for an appointment, he didn't want me there. Hope it's a genuine appointment, last we were there and they had apparently phoned us to say the appointment would be by phone!!
