To be honest ( as you request that virtue) at the moment, it’s so warm I prefer a glass of lemonade with ice cubes.?
However, I often like a G&T of an evening, but am not drinking any more than usual , although understand why some people are doing.Whatever helps you through the night.

A cup of tea for me. No alcohol.

LadyGracie Thu 21-May-20 21:38:22

I do enjoy my tea. We did have a bottle of wine with our Sunday dinner a few weeks ago, I thoroughly enjoyed it, for a change.

We have a glass or two if friends pop in, in normal times.

May I join you in a glass farview? I do have either a G and T or a glass of red most evenings. I think I was more inclined to give it a miss a couple of nights a week before the lockdown. Quite often dh joins me but I must admit to usually being the instigator.wine

We still only have alcohol at weekends. It's what we've always done and, right now, it helps to highlight the actual weekend after days of exactly the same inactivity.

Pantglas2 Thu 21-May-20 21:54:38

I don’t sleep straight through nowadays if I’ve had alcohol so only indulge once a week and enjoy the fresh-as-a-daisy feeling when I awake on t’other six mornings.

This started in my fifties so I had a good innings! ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 21-May-20 21:56:27

farview I am sitting here with a glass of chilled white.......cheers ?

MayBee70 Thu 21-May-20 22:12:05

I don't drink very often but I preserved some ginger in brandy a while back and I've taken to having a tiny drop of it in a cup of sweet coffee in the evening. really look forward to it!

diygran Thu 21-May-20 22:18:45

look forward to Sat evening sauvignon blanc nicely chilled. Cheers!
Today had Asda delivery. Brought in some bottles in bag. Thought it was just lemonade that I didnt order. Rushed to door to catch driver and he thanked me and said ' you dont drink gin then?' I'd almost got a load of pink gin and tonic by mistake!

merlotgran Thu 21-May-20 22:26:29

Every now and then a thread pops up where we are invited to discuss how much we drink.

I take it all with a pinch of salt - which is actually best placed on the rim of a glass of margarita.

wine cheers! grin

I am very boring. I dislike tea and coffee, and don't drink alcohol. I actually love a cool glass of tap water, which is all I drink.

MiniMoon Thu 21-May-20 22:44:13

Cup of tea please. I can't drink wine these days because of acid reflux.
I can manage a gin and tonic occasionally though.

tanith Thu 21-May-20 23:06:31

It’s tea, coffee or water for me no alcohol for many years.

Grannynannywanny Thu 21-May-20 23:13:56

In beer there is freedom, in wine there is health, in cognac there is power, and in water there is bacteria

Cheers Farview ?

Granny23 Thu 21-May-20 23:23:45

My Mother drummed it into me that you should never drink alcohol when alone. Sadly this means that with no visitors and no visiting, I have not touched a drop for 12 weeks.

Maggiemaybe Thu 21-May-20 23:41:08

Well tonight it was beer, which seems to go well with our family quiz night, but my usual tipple is red wine or fizz. I enjoy it and stick (just) to the 14 units a week, with a couple of alcohol free days a week. Nothing’s changed here, but I can understand how the rules might be bent a little at the moment.

And, whenever a thread like this appears, I find mysolf agreeing with merlot!! wine

Im a bit of a weird one lol, not a big fan of Tea or Coffee, and only drink around 2 cups per day, cannot drink Alcohol due to the medication I take, and pure fruit juices tend to spike my blood sugars far too high, which leaves me with very little choice of either Plain water, Milk, very low alcohol drinks such as Ghostship 0.5% or the occasional glass of wine from the same strength range, or my main staple drink, either hot or cold, Ribena no added sugar, which also helps top up my Vit C levels from the Blackcurrants that it is made from, I told you I was Weird!

almostelderly Fri 22-May-20 09:43:52

I have not drank alcohol for over a year for various reasons. To compensate I bought a posh coffee maker. In lockdown I have been tempted to buy a few bottles of red but resisted. I compensate with coffee and fever tree tonic drinks. These are flavoured so I'm not tempted to add gin!

Usually have a glass of wine with our evening meal. Sometimes have a cold beer in the garden when we've been on the allotment. Sunday, we have a g and t before our meal, and then a glass of wine with it.

Yiayia4 Fri 22-May-20 10:57:46

annsixty Fri 22-May-20 11:12:06
