Morning everyone,
It's a lovely bright morning here in South Yorkshire. I think the washing I have in the machine will soon dry.
Glad to read that you are feeling stronger today, BlueSapphire. Keep going with those baby steps - we're all behind you. ??
gilly, I do hope the news from Barclays is more positive when it arrives and pleased, too, that the help from Grandmafrench regarding the pension fiasco is proving helpful. ? for a good outcome.
DH was saying last night that it was ages since he'd had a corned beef pie (it is - not sure how long ago it is since I made one, but years and years ago), so this morning that is what I plan to make. Hope I can remember the recipe! Actually, I looked up recipes on line and found a Paul Hollywood one that looks and sounds nice, so will probably adapt that one.
Sorry to read you are struggling with pain, marydoll and hope that as the day wears on you start to feel better. Don't overdo things today - as my MiL used to say "there's plenty of days not touched yet" to catch up with things. A wise woman, I think.
Well take care everyone and keep safe. I hope all of you with ills and worries feel a little better today. ?

Good Morning Wednesday
(67 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright sunny day here in Brackley this morning.
Last night ,I actually watched Star Wars Skywalker ,took awhile to get into it, but resolved at the end, I have been so used to seeing films sequel wise where the ending of is normally the opener for the next.
Today a small shop , cannot wait to be able to visit other shops in a few weeks time.
Mick
Good Morning All x
A beautiful start to the day, so rooted some washing out and it's " doing " as we speak.
Showered already------and, I've discarded my vest !
After hoovering up the dried cut grass that had trodden/blown inside yesterday, it's as bad as ever and is beginning to resemble a barn so the cats will have to be disturbed again.
Decided to pay the electric and gas on estimate as it's not every day you get a gas bill for £6.45
It'll right itself once the meter men are on the go. Electric's high, but that too will sort itself out next quarter.
Neighbour shouted over the wall yesterday to say she'd nipped to Morrison's and brought me back 9 boxes of cat food. I was thrilled. This is the neighbour who lost her son to suicide and she's arranging to bring him back from Norwich where he'd lived to here in Wallasey. Poor thing, she said she feels like yelling out loud----letting it all go. It only happened last week when the police called to give her the news. Early days yet.
Will phone D today to see how she's getting on with all the children. I imagine she's been shopping for the twins Birthdays as GGD wants a ukulele {grin]---good luck with that and GGS a pro-something, whatever that is, both 14. How I wish I could be there
Started an email to my D in Oz, but what do you write when life's at a standstill ? Still in the land of the living ? Goodbye ?
I'll finish it bit by bit as time goes on as it's still contact however you look at it.
Loved that snippet Urmston it made my day
you're kidding no-one ! x
Sending love to BlueSapphire for her brilliant effort. Easy does it and a little at a time, there's no rush. x
I'm also sending positive vibes to the chap who's been imprisoned for nearly 35 years for a murder that I and many don't believe he carried out. There's a hearing at Leeds Crown Court on Friday about why so much evidence was withheld during the trial and it had been refused release on 3 court orders from Essex police to his legal team, yet sent to an author to write a book ? Gripping stuff right now.
New kitchen runner came a day or two ago so I scrunched the old one up and stuffed it in a black back to put in the bin. The cats like it ! Now for new bathroom ones.
With so much going on in my life there's no need for me to move far at the best of times and it all keeps me focussed.
Anyway, kind wishes to all and I hope there's some progress in the Gillybob household as it's rumbled on for long enough now and it's heading to the middle of the year already.
Stay safe and well everyone. xx
Good morning Mick and all x
I watched Star Wars Skywalker with GC last week it tidied up all the ends!
Blue sky here in S E Essex, change beds first thing then I shall assume the position on sun lounger with my book.
We ventured down to Chalkwell-on-Sea yesterday and had a very nice stroll along the beach front paseo , seemed odd to see all the restaurants closed, one had a sign in the window no alcohol, money or toilet rolls left on the premises it did make us laugh ???
Keep safe and well folks ?
Mythbirtthedragon I have PM'd you
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is already blazing in South Yorkshire - hope there is a bit of cloud to temper the heat today. I was up before four this morning, sneezing and nose running like a tap. Had a hot lemsip and went back to bed. Now feel like a limp rag! Not much happening today I fancy. Corner I’m sorry your friend has had a relapse; that’s sad. Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning all from another sunny day in mid-Notts. Our cleaning lady is busy working her magic in the garden before it gets too hot - I do wish she was able to come and work her magic inside the house again though!! Mr BA has just taken his sporty little number (car that is!!) for it's MOT so I hope all us well with that. Stay safe everyone and may Wednesday be kind to us all x
You’re losing all sense of priority, marydoll. I think you should keep some of those clothes but get rid of that mirror! ?
Good morning from east London, sun breaking through and it’s warm. Street vehicle buzzing up and down the road outside, the middle of it will be very clean. Off to Southend house today, aim is to tidy up the garage so we can move stuff in from the house to make that clearer for any estate agent action. I’ve contacted the local authority to see if we can take stuff to the tip down there given we are paying full rates on the house. Nil response. DP wants to take a quick detour to drive into South Benfleet; before the shutdown, DD was looking for somewhere to buy around there so he wants to ‘check it out’. Whatever we do, we’ll get hot. Hope you have a good day.
Good morning everyone!
Beautiful day again, hot sunshine and almost overpowering smell of jasmine from the garden.
Yesterday’s hunter/gatherer trip to catch fish for lunch worked very well. We were able to enjoy a delicious salad, with cold chicken, on our return! Still managed a 6km paddle, though, and only got extremely wet when clambering out (me) as I almost took down DH with me, after getting one foot caught up. Water only soaked my trousers up to my thighs, but it was so warm and we were laughing so much that it didn’t pose a problem until sitting in the car for the 5 minute drive home (me on a plastic carrier bag!)
Not sure you would fit into our Kayak brook, but as long as you’re just the size of a small dog, you’d be very welcome to come along.
Did see swarms and swarms of jellyfish, doing their beautiful jellyfish ballet as they drifted along. Was interested to read that they feature in the production of collagen as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis treatment. Thought of you Marydoll, hope you’re feeling better today, less tired as well, and without the runny nose. (My nose currently has a good reason - but it’s still annoying.)
You do seem to be working very hard at getting strong and feeling positive again, BlueSapphire. When you’ve achieved all your daily tasks, it does sound as if sitting in the garden with the cats might be an excellent idea. Lovely weather cannot fail to lift the mood and why not walk to the corner more than once if you’re able.......make it spontaneous, without much thought, so that it doesn’t present too much of a challenge. Everyone on here wishes you well - but then you’ll know that already!
Loved your summer hair idea, Urmston, you will feel lots more in control with a pretty summer style. (Very surprised that your hair weighs so much, though. Who’d have guessed, eh?)
]
Wishing you all a day during which at least one good thing happens. Still being careful is important but gradually shaking off the grip of lockdown and worries and wobbles should be our aim now.
Hugs from France. Take good care all. x

Good for you bluesapphire you’re doing great ?
Good morning from East London, another lovely day, but really need rain now . Sadly found a young dead fox in the garden yesterday , I think it was the one that came daily into the garden to drink from the pond . I had to ask a neighbour to help me ( probably not 2 metres apart) get it into a black bag , double bagged it and is being collected by the council today . Smallest DGS birthday today , meeting DD in the park to give him his present from a distance ? . He is getting a new (second hand) bike on which I doubt he will race around the park !
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another lovely day.
Weekly online coffee meetup and a trip to Lidl are today's highlights.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, hopefully it will brighten up.
Kalu, thanks for your kind words. My throat is improving, but it is an occupational based for me, as I never stop taking!
?
I have been feeling pretty rough and grumpy into the bargain.
Those who have RA will know what I mean. Chronic fatigue, high pain levels and a fluey feeling. It's quite hard to articulate.
I haven't told DH how rotten I feel, as he just worries.
I'm clinging to the knowledge that it will settle down , once I start my new treatment. I just have to be patient.
I started this an hour ago, but DD arrived with essentials and a bunch of flowers as a treat!
?
She is going home to email the supermarket. There were groups of assistants all huddled together in various aisles, not social distancing from customers or each other.
Also one assistant was emptying shelves of fresh food, with no gloves, examining the dates and putting them back on the shelves. Despite a one way system, the aisles were blocked with pallets.
A wise move, would be to have to done this on a night shift. ?
DH went up the loft yesterday to get my summer things. I told him there was only one box, there were four!!! ?
The majority will be going to the charity shop. They are a legacy of when I was working. Was I really that slim, rather than this wee, dumpy woman I see in the mirror? ?
A gentle day in store for us. I found a few things in the boxes, I picked up in Rome last year which need altered, so that should keep me out of mischief.
Hoping things are progressing for * Gilly*.
Take care, everyone.
Good morning from the NE coast . Where we have a dry but cloudy start to Wednesday .
My DH had another “drive through” blood test at our GP practise yesterday . It sounds crazy but it works pretty well .
I got a text off Barclays last night at 10pm saying “we have looked into your recent complaint number 1234567 and have written to you with the outcome . Thank you for choosing Barclays” you couldn’t make it up . I await the letter with baited breath........
I usually do a big shop for my dad on a Wednesday . He texts me his list and I go over and collect his bank card then I do the shopping and deliver it back. I normally spend an hour sitting on the kerb side chatting (about music and the kids mainly) He is completely oblivious to all my woes and worries .
Oh Grammaretto I share similar “favourite films” to you. My little Evie has just gone 2 and I miss her antics so much .they are growing up so fast aren’t they ? I feel so sad that we are missing so much .
To all those feeling under the weather I hope you feel better soon. Marydoll with her sore throat and other poorlinesses , Harrigran with her sore hands . BlueSapphire I’m glad you are feeling a bit brighter today too.
Will play catch up later . Meanwhile a have a long PM to send to GrandmaFrench who is a absolute star with the advise she is giving me on the appeal against the Pension Regulator.
Do take care everyone .
Love Gillybob x
Good morning Mick and team, from a not yet sunny east London.
Sat in the garden yesterday and read my book. However my neighbour’s son came out and played music (not very loudly) and began barbecuing some chicken for lunch, which drove me back indoors.
We parcelled up the wretched phone yesterday so it’s ready to go to the post office. I truly hate the guides which accompany technology, they are always badly written and assume a level of knowledge that I simply don’t possess. Grrr ...
I plan to use up some chicken thighs and a piece of chorizo from the bottom of the fridge and have pasta for supper, with a salad.
Ginny do let us know about the OU courses you look at and what you decide on. I would be most interested.
MaryD the r*ddy puzzle drove me mad yesterday ... I will dive into today’s puzzle with gusto ...
Blue sounds like you have a good plan for the day ?
Have a pleasant day, all and best wishes to those who need them. ?
Good Morning from Fife, just waiting for the sun to peep its little head out. Think it's going to be another lovely day. Have a pile of ironing to do, that's what happens when you get nice days you want to wash everything in sight
. No matter I have plenty time to do some at a time. Took delivery of our new garden furniture yesterday and am very happy with it. Only thing that had to be done was to screw the legs on and put it in place. Garden today after having puts plants/flowers in pots so garden is looking good.
I feel I am getting excited about being able to see our family again but will hold off until I hear what NS has to say tomorrow to finalise. Yippee!!! Hope everyone is looking after themselves, a day at a time I say. Keep your chin up.
Good morning from a beautiful morning in Oxfordshire, I went out early and did a bit of pruning whilst Mr Oops sleeps on.
A resting day today as we painted the outside of the garage yesterday, and we decided one day of work and one day of sitting.
DDs dog arriving later so we will take an early walk before it gets too hot, then we will sit under a tree for the day and read.
Or we might sort the shed out, it’s cool in there and nothing too heavy to lift.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.
gramaretto. It is Mauritius. There is a minute white population, who were the original colonists. I am descended from one of those families.
dragonfly. It was BUTTON.
Marydoll came back to class soon after 7 pm with the answer.
Good morning from an overcast NE.
Have been asked to clear furniture from home in the Lakes as buyer wants to complete on Friday. Would have all been done if it hadn't been for lockdown.
BIL was being transferred to another hospital yesterday, sister unable to visit and she has no family, only her siblings and we are in the UK.
DH has started the laundry so it is a washing and ironing day.
Take care.
Morning All
Cooler and grey here in the north of Norfolk.
No plans for today apart from house cleaning. I’ve been saving it up for a treat - no point in cleaning until it really shows!
?for Gilly. I hope you’re keeping a diary. You could make your fortune selling your story to the Daily Mail, etc.
Morning Blue ?
Good to hear you’re more upbeat today and also that your appetite is returning. You ARE making progress - two weeks ago you couldn’t have contemplated making and eating meatballs. Just shows how far you’ve come and possibly don’t realise it. x
?
BlueSapphire ??
Good morning everyone from another sunny day in Northampton.
Feeling much better this morning, after being down yesterday, and not getting much done.
Must cut the grass this morning ready for green collection day tomorrow, and then perhaps do some washing. A walk out to the corner of the road, find the online yoga class that my teacher has posted, practise some mindful breathing, and find the recipe for Greek meatballs. I have already made the meatballs (must get them out of the freezer!), it's the sauce recipe I need.
Will probably sit in the garden with the cats this afternoon and read.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning Mick and all from a sunny S Welsh coast, it feels warm.
Yesterday I did some baking and this morning there is some ironing to be tackled. I tend to do any chores in the morning too, then relax in the afternoon before going for a walk. I hope that gilly may see some light at the end of a very long banking tunnel. We are all rooting for you.
Hope Marydoll is better.
Stay safe everyone.
