I was in love with Clint Eastwood when he was in Rawhide in the early 60's
He is 90 today.

I also had a crush on Oliver Reed! I had a large picture of him sitting inside a coffin, on my bedroom wall! My mother flatly refused to come in until I took it down!
Kenneth More and gorgeous Dirk Bogarde also figured very strongly in my youth. Not too mention Clint, Clark, Yul, John Kerr and lots of others. Oh! Dear,

We had a drink in that bar where Ollie supped his last Scousegirl

It is surprising a lot of these heart throbs were gay.
I liked Gene Kelly. (Brigadoon).

Clint Eastwood when he was Rowdy Yates. I loved the spaghetti westerns too. I don't want to see him as he is now though- I'd rather live in my dreams.
Anyone remember Horst Bucholtz? He was gorgeous too.

Gregory Peck when he was young.

James Stewart

Louis Jourdain

Omar Sharif

They don't make them like that any more.

Henry Darrow as Manolito in the High Chapparal. Loved the whole series and 'binged' when it was shown on a Sky channel a while back. They even have reunions in Tuscon Arizona each year - though most of the cast are now dead (Not Henry though but I saw he's too frail to travel now).

Omar Sharif after seeing Dr Shivago.?

Charlton Heston in El Cid, later James Dean.

David Essex - such lovely eyes! Not sure about film stars, but I had a HUGE crush on Bruce Springsteen back in the 80s! And I wasn't a schoolgirl. I was a married mum! Still very fond of Bruce but not in that way any more. smile

We had a drink in that bar too Callistemon and bought a tee shirt in there for our nephew, who is a fan if Ollie's.

All my class went to see Hamlet at Stratford, with Peter McEnery as Laertes. Still makes my toes curl!

joaniec7 Mon 01-Jun-20 11:01:54

Pierce Brosnan

George Chakiris, still gives me the shivers watching West Side Story. He won an Oscar for his role in it.

Kartush Mon 01-Jun-20 11:06:15

I was madly in something with Leonard Nimmoy as Mr Spock in Star Trek

Nanny27 Mon 01-Jun-20 11:06:27

The Fonz. Oh yesss

dolphindaisy Mon 01-Jun-20 11:08:54

Steve McQueen was my favourite, he wasn't very tall but the camera loved him, he looked gorgeous on film. I must admit that these days I still have a "crush" on Keanu Reeves, very good looking and seems like a nice man.

Not sure how being gay led to James Dean's death, he was killed driving a sports car too fast on an empty road.

pollyperkins Mon 01-Jun-20 11:11:15

Oh yes, Pierce Brosnan too- but that was much later!

CazB Mon 01-Jun-20 11:13:27

I loved Richard Chamberlain (Dr Kildare), also Dirk Bogarde of course.

Rosina Mon 01-Jun-20 11:14:16

Michael Landon, Roger Moore as 'Ivanhoe', the actor who played William Tell - Conrad Philips? - Steve McQueen, Robert Redford, Paul Newman, and when Omar Sharif came galloping out of the desert sand on his camel....oh those eyes! I had so many crushes and mooned about over these handsome actors it's a wonder anyone got a word of sense out of me as a young teenager. Thinking back they probably didn't. I must have been so annoying.

essjay Mon 01-Jun-20 11:22:17

steve mcqueen, dirk bogarde and as a teenager david cassidy
