I was in love with Clint Eastwood when he was in Rawhide in the early 60's
He is 90 today.

Most of the above! Plus Paul Newman. And Clint Walker who starred in Cheyenne.

Alan Ladd, then James Dean

I loved Pete Duel too. Also Henry Darrow and Mark Slade, Manolito and Billy Blue in High Chapparal. Lee Majors and Peter Breck in The Big Valley. Seems to be a cowboy theme going on here!

Eric Fleming as Gil Favor in Rawhide. I had a photo of him above my bed. He had a wonderful voice

Sorry Gracesnan I did laugh at Reginald Bosenquet.

Lots of GNs mentioning Pete Duel reminded me of my best friend who loved Ben Murphy in Alias Smith and Jones. We used to watch it every week and she only had eyes for Ben Murphy.

Always Gregory Peck. Remember, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'Snows of Kilimanjaro' ?

How many westerns we used to watch !!!

Anniebach Mon 01-Jun-20 08:36:30

Who was The Virginian ?

Alexa Mon 01-Jun-20 08:54:33

Cesar Romero as The Cisco Kid.

NanKate Mon 01-Jun-20 08:56:18

Kenneth More, he was a bit like my dear Dad.

I remember the Cisco Kid Annie.

NanKate Mon 01-Jun-20 08:57:23

Sorry it was you Alexa who had a crush on the Cisco Kid.

Ooh Curlywhirly you’ve just reminded me -
George Clooney in “The American” . Broodingly sexy.
And Richard Gere in “An Officer & A Gentleman”. and “Pretty Woman”. That white uniform!

Alexa Mon 01-Jun-20 08:59:55

NanKate, at last someone who possibly is as old as me? Do you remember Gene Autry? I loved him too.

Calendargirl Mon 01-Jun-20 09:17:15

The Virginian was James Drury, I think, Annie.

He died a little while ago.

Anniebach Mon 01-Jun-20 09:54:17

Thank you Calendargirl

James Drury

I just remembered how much I loved Clark Gable and Gene Barry! I did share the crush with my mum.

David Cassidy, oh I was so in love with him and used to kiss his poster on my bedroom wall every night before I went to bed! Terribly sad his life ended in such a mess.

jaylucy Mon 01-Jun-20 10:04:31

Oh yes, I loved Pete Duel and was devastated when he died.

David Essex - that little twinkle in his eye! He still has it.

David Cassidy - oh he was beautiful!

Davy Jones of the Monkees

Steve Hodson - the dark brooding one in Follyfoot

Oliver Tobias - a moody Arthur of the Britons - I had to go to a friends house to watch it!

Just realised these are mainly from the tv - I didn't really go to the cinema growing up as living in a village it was usually difficult to get home from the nearest town at night.

Janetashbolt Mon 01-Jun-20 10:04:49

Does Cliff Richard count, otherwise Clint Eastwood, Paint Your Wagon, who knew he could sing (reasonably well)

Phloembundle Mon 01-Jun-20 10:05:11

I preferred Gil Favor to Rowdy Yates. Also, my mum took me to see South Pacific and I fell in love with John Kerr.

seadragon Mon 01-Jun-20 10:06:21

Oh goody! I can have Alan Bates all to myself by the looks of things!

Callistemon Mon 01-Jun-20 10:09:03

mrsgreenfingers I remember seeing David Cassidy in Blood Brothers here in the UK. He played an excellent part.

MarieEliza Mon 01-Jun-20 10:09:06

I loved Anthony Hopkins and David mcCallum when he was in Man From Uncle and I carried around pictures of him ❤️

Callistemon Mon 01-Jun-20 10:11:35

Phloembundle oh, yes John Kerr! But I just loved the film; it's about the only film I could watch again and again and the stage show (without John Kerr).

Pippet Mon 01-Jun-20 10:18:43

Oh yes. Mine is Steve McQueen and always has been. So handsome and a great actor. Also Jimmy Smitts who was my first crush. Also a great actor.
