I wonder how they are going to police that?
As police don't now have any powers to stop and question people,
Everything they say doesn't make sense, and is contradictory

This seems to be a 'law' in England.
I'm very happy to live in Scotland ?
Although I haven't met my partner (we don't live together) I intend to see him this week ?

PauliLenney - that generalisation can’t really work though can it? There are people who shop at Waitrose who may have been through very lean times during their lives when they have had to shop in the pile ‘em high stores, or there will be those who choose to shop there for ethical reasons, or it may well be their nearest supermarket. There are very many more well off people who choose to shop where they can get bargains.

Wherever they shop, however much money they have or don’t have, their hearts and inclinations to be generous when they can won’t change. A great deal of giving to charities etc is done without trumpeting it from the rooftops!

Waitrose is my local. A few years ago I was there and a very famous obnoxious lady and her son who live locally were visiting. She was in a wheelchair-staff were fawning around them and on exit- the heavens had opened- she, of course, had a flunky from management holding an umbrella over her head. I asked if I could have the same treatment but was ignored!

She is long dead but I see her famous son on TV from time to time. How the other half are treated!

Are you on the wrong thread, PauliLenney?
What a strange post.
And extremely rude.
confused

Now I'm curious Charleygirl!!

Our Lidl doesn't have a caff, PauliLenney, so we shop there first then go on to Waitrose for their bargains and the caff.
Our shops aren't just down the road, it's a long way to Tipperary we need a coffee after all that effort.

On a serious note, I read that it was now illegal to stay overnight in a Partners home. This is absurd, I met my Fiancé a year ago. He was married for 50 years and lost his late Wife a few years ago. He lives 40 miles away. He has been spending most of the week at my house. We are both in our 70s. Recently he became ill and I cared for him at my house. What were we supposed to do, just let him cope on his own at his house. We do completely self isolate but in the past I have spent the night at his house because obviously it is not good to leave a house empty for too long.

You are probably fine as long as you're not .........

Seriously, that sounds fine as you are both isolating together.

This should make it clear (as clear as mud!)

I thought that people from different households could only meet in each other's gardens?
Not in the house.

So, don't look over the garden fence if you hear strange noises coming from the garden next door

As it's now raining will that put a damper on things?

Or will we see a lot of tents/gazebos suddenly being put up in gardens around the country?

Ps Does this only apply in England?

MissAdventure Wed 03-Jun-20 11:14:48

Yes, I think it's fair to say there will be many erections in people's gardens. wink

Callistemon Wed 03-Jun-20 11:15:47

I was avoiding the word MissA!

MissAdventure Wed 03-Jun-20 11:16:44

Well that`s put on hold those cheating on their other halves, for a while anyway.

Sussexborn Wed 03-Jun-20 13:27:06

Not if they live near a Waitrose, timetogo!

Just so that I get this right; it is now illegal to go to a partner's house and have sex but, you can have five people in your garden who you may or may not know and have sex with them as long as you are all wearing PPE, somebody remembers to blindfold the dog and everybody washes their hands afterwards. Bonkers.
