I am so pleased this morning to wake up to wet weather. The sun has been great but I missed the rain. It's good for the garden and mine looks greener already but I also just love the rain. Is that weird?

It’s a shame we can’t make it just rain at night

That would be wonderful aonk!

I'm very unhappy that we have rain. I know it's great for plants and grass, but we've been spending lovely days in the garden and I am missing that already!

i love the rain, everyone i know, family and friends, think im crazy, but ive got very sensitive skin and its been far too hot to go out the last few days x

Glad to see the back of the hot weather but queuing outside shops in the rain is no fun either! We did need the rain though, I wouldn’t mind some heavy rain at night because I love listening to it.

Not here No rain here in sunny East coast and nothing forecast for the next fortnight (That’s as far as BBC Forecast takes me)
I say hooray to the hot weather love every minute of it but perhaps a little shower at night Would do the gardens good And save me getting the hose out every day

Only a couple of spots so far in N Bucks. Could really do with some though. Then we will have the beautiful weather back please.

I opened the porch door last night while the rain was heavy. I stood and breathed in the delicious smell of the wet garden. It was so dry, the plants will be grateful for a drink.

Yes, I'm pleased. I got sunburnt on Monday, on my chest, shoulders and back. (I'm pink and freckly) I didn't feel well yesterday because of the sun, so I'm glad it's cooler today.

Most of the garden is loving the steady downpour, Mr and Mrs Corner are definitely not!

Yes, I'm happy to see the rain. Although I can and do manage it, it's a bit of a faff going out with watering cans each evening to water the plants which are thirsty and vulnerable, so it's great to get a break from that.

I was beginning to wonder when a hosepipe ban would be imposed. That would have been the last straw after the flooding last winter!

craftyone Wed 03-Jun-20 14:35:20

ahh but people are using sprinklers on grass. What a waste of purified water

ladymuck Wed 03-Jun-20 14:38:13

Very pleased to see the rain. I grow things in pots so I've been out with a watering can every evening. Plus the air feels so much fresher.

bluebirdwsm Wed 03-Jun-20 14:42:41

Its raining steadily here now {SW] and I am very pleased as the garden has started to suffer and struggle despite my watering efforts.
Roses have bloomed suddenly and the courgettes are growing fast, the air feels fresh and I like it cooler.
The hot weather was lovely but it very much affects my sleep and this is a nice break. Will miss my daily walk though.

Its been raining lightly all morning here in North Wiltshire. Now just a bit gloomy The garden’s had a bath so that’s enough for me; I’m quite happy for the sun to come out again but it looks unlikely for a while

Whitewavemark2 Wed 03-Jun-20 15:13:41

Still nothing here

South coast

annodomini Wed 03-Jun-20 15:41:19

When I looked out of the window this morning I was quite pleased to see that it was raining...until I looked at my car and noticed that I had forgotten to close the sun roof blush

suziewoozie Wed 03-Jun-20 15:43:34

I’d booked to go to a NT place so, no, not pleased

SueDonim Wed 03-Jun-20 15:44:14

Not enough rain here to even wet your whistle, as my grandad would have said. It’s dull and cool, instead.

Marmight Wed 03-Jun-20 15:47:59

Anno oops ?

Grannybags Wed 03-Jun-20 15:52:00

I got very excited here (Bristol area) ten minutes ago when it started to rain but it's stopped already.

Oh well, back to the watering can....

Don't mind the rain but feel for those who have arranged to see family in garden or meet in park ..

sodapop Wed 03-Jun-20 15:57:08

We have just had to pull off the road and shelter, hailstones the size of maltesers in danger of damaging the windscreen. Roads are becoming flooded in places.

Callistemon Wed 03-Jun-20 16:42:57

It's just started to get rather windy here, coming from the NE.
Are you sending us more rain?

Callistemon Wed 03-Jun-20 16:43:44

sodapop, goodness, that was frightening!

Maggiemaybe Wed 03-Jun-20 17:11:13

Yes, I’m pleased it’s rained today. I do like a sunny day but it had gone on a bit too long for me. I didn’t even venture out yesterday as my hayfevered eyes were still sore from a couple of hours in the garden the day before. I had a lovely four mile walk in light drizzle this afternoon. Hardly anyone about and everything smelt so fresh. Bliss!
