Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s mostly cloudy with a few specks of blue sky and feels very warm.

A homeworking day for me and making a new salad recipe for lunch time eats.

Have the best day you can good morningers and take care ?

cornergran Tue 16-Jun-20 06:25:41

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks a bright start to our corner of Somerset. Feels mild. Hope we avoid the heavy rain forecast for later. Dust removal here today, so snap mick. Mr C will then return to the horribly difficult if very pretty jigsaw I kindly hmm ordered for him while I return to my admin job list. The idea was break down the tasks I’ve been putting off for years, do a bit each day and by the end of the week I’d be a free woman. Will it work? Well, I could postpone the list to next week, or the week after, or the week after. Hope. those with heavy hearts feel lighter today. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Morning Mick and all to follow from a glorious sunny north Wales where some magpie chicks are creating a racket while I enjoy the chamberpot....you know it’s tea don’t you!☕️

Some much needed cleaning this morning, sunlight always shows up muckiness doesn’t it? I have a friend coming for a curry on Saturday and her standards are so much higher than mine so I always make an effort in her honour!

Stay well everyone x

Good morning Mick and followers from a warm, dry Worcs.
Yesterday was especially hot and muggy, by evening the skies grew dark, rain spots fell - and we had about an egg cupful . No more.
My friend visited as a surprise yesterday and we sat in the garden under the trees and had a good old chinwag. I found fresh cherries and a lemon loaf cake for us to eat. The whole experience was deeply therapeutic for us both as she lives alone and we’ve only kept in touch by phone for the past 12 weeks.
Rumour has it there was a long old queue at J B Sports in the town yesterday - opening for the first time - I guess all the folks we hear are exercising at home, jogging, cycling, playing golf need new footwear and wardrobe to do it in!
Have a good day everyone, whatever yours holds. And please may we have a bit more rain to cool things down and give the garden a drink. ?

Morning everyone from sunny E Kent, Was very misty at 0445 when I got up. Bad night, just happens.
Had a lovely time yesterday choosing and buying fabrics some patchwork I want to make. Our delightful friendly local haberdashery was open. They tried to have a system, but all the customers ignored it! Still managed to social distance. A small queue of one or two. Was so nice.
Going to my Tai Chi group in the small park later. Normality returns...
Hope all with problems and difficulties have a serene day.
Stay well stay safe.

Shopping today then reading one of the magazines that a friend put in my birthday gift bag on Sunday
Take care ?

grandMattie Tue 16-Jun-20 06:42:45

What’s in the new salad, beech? I’m always on the lookout for interesting salads that don’t require esoteric and impossible to find ingredients.

Scentia Tue 16-Jun-20 06:44:03

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, after a spectacular lightening display and rain last night I am hoping to have a sunny day today.
I am off on a drive to North Derbyshire today to collect a bike trailer I bought from EBay, all in preparation for my cycling holiday next year with the pooch! But before booking anything lots of training and practice with the equipment. I do hope she likes it?
DD said she may pop to the factory for a cuppa this morning, but other than that not a lot planned.
Take care everyone and stay safe today ❤️

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's dry in Cheshire but goodness how it rained in the night! My poor roses are battered. It's fresher and there's mist hanging around the trees in the woods.

Not lot planned Scentia???? What do you do on a really busy day? grin

There's a lighter mood in the thread already, with things easing and family and friends able to be together again. It's been a long wait. My wait will be longer, but it's coming.

I've got a work project which is proving complicated. Need to put my thinking head on and get cracking, but I will go for a walk in a bit and hope my brain is in gear when I get back.

Dealing with my shopping delivery was the most arduous thing I did yesterday. What a palaver! I think I've been converted to online grocery/household shopping! The thought of going round a supermarket, unloading onto conveyer belt, packing into bags, then bags into car, then unloading the car before even starting to disinfect everything and put it away, is no longer appealing. grin

Warm wishes to everyone, especially those with worries. flowers

Good morning everyone from a hot, sunny Malta.

Most of our restrictions are being lifted here as the PM says there is no longer a health emergency. The airport is re-opening on 1st July, but only flights to certain countries will be available. The UK is not on the list, not that I am planning to go away, but DD3 and her best pal have booked a week in Greece at the end of July. They are going to hire a car so I shall be extremely nervous thinking about it.

Today I am taking my friend to see if she can find something to wear. She has lost so much weight with having cancer and also going through the trauma of her husband dying in April.

We will have a coffee after which we used to take for granted, but which is now a treat!

Hope you all have the best day possible, especially those of you with troubles and illness to contend with.☀️

kittylester Tue 16-Jun-20 07:18:13

Morning all from a muggy North Leicestershire.

Last Zoom practice session before we start delivering Alzheimer's Carers courses. Who'd have thought it?

Have the best day possible everyone!

Good morning everyone from Inverness, the mist is still here again today. My goodness - yesterday it lingered all day and the sun didn’t show up at all. I’m hoping for a much better day today ?

The easyJet flights resumed yesterday and there was a flight arriving at Inverness airport from Gatwick in the afternoon. It was the first time I’d heard a plane in the sky since lockdown began. I wonder how busy it was though and where everyone was going !

This morning I’ll be doing an online dance exercise class and then maybe a walk later. DH is off to do some work in DD2 garden so I’ve got the morning to myself ..

Hope everyone has a lovely day today and enjoys whatever the day brings ?

Nannytopsy Tue 16-Jun-20 07:23:15

Good morning Mick and the rest of the team! Suffolk is warm and sunny again but we are forecast some rain over the next few days.
We went to our plant auction yesterday which was very well organised and distanced. The other customers were the only problem! 2metres? Ha! I was restrained and only bought 4 plants but one is a tree fern!
We had only just got home when DS called to invite us to join them for a walk at our local nature reserve. Apart from a few large drops of rain it was lovely.
Playing hide and seek in amongst Scot’s pines or on the open heath is a challenge though! DH resorted to standing in the middle of the path, arms spread wide holding fir cones. “I’m a tree” he said.
Hope you have a great day even if it rains in your part of the world.

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where the temperature was 31°C yesterday at the beach ?

It was a picture perfect afternoon. Turquoise sea, the sand was hot, white parasols against a cobalt blue sky which had not one cloud, the scent of coconut sun oil drifting occasionally on a light breeze.

I chose a new novel. ‘The Vanishing Half’ by Brit Bennett. Bennett is a gifted storyteller. This generous, humane novel has many merits, not least its engrossing plot and richly detailed settings, from smoky small-town diners to gleaming laboratories. About twins - who can pass for Caucasian - one embraces doing so whilst the other has a child to a ‘blue black Negro’. Psychological feast in these interesting times.

Today it’s my meet up - LWW - this afternoon. I even enjoy the ‘getting ready’! What to wear, which handbag and perfume? Those days will be back for you all soon, hopefully. My friend and neighbour isn’t quite ready just yet to jump back in.

I spoke to our grandson last night. He’s back at school full time this week - he’s been allocated a place as the child of a key worker.
Him: ‘Guess what grandma?’ (don’t you just love 7y olds when they say that?)
Me: ‘What J......?’
Him: ‘I don’t have to wear my uniform for school. I can even wear whatever socks I like’.

Love it. And him. The 3y old cutie had to get involved next.
Her ‘Grandma, I’ve got a pink coat’.
Me: ‘ooh that’s nice P.....’
Mummy filled me in. ‘it’s the one she’s had for months’.
??

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from as kitty says a muggy Leicestershire. The sun shone all day yesterday after a muggy start so there is hope.

Had a lovely day yesterday. My two year old DGS sang Happy Birthday and my 4 year old DGD told me all about her first day back at school. My house is full of flowers!

Not much planned today except revising the Ocado list. I too will be loathe to go back to physical shopping. I can’t understand the queues outside Primark.

It’s garden refuse day today as that is back to normal. So exciting!

Hope Marydoll and others who are suffering have a good day. Stay safe everyone.

Pittcity Tue 16-Jun-20 08:01:49

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
I too am excited that refuse collections are back to normal as my garden will be a bit tidier.
DD2 and DGS2 visited our garden yesterday. They live in a flat and the 5 year old just needs to run around.
We are restringing the rotary washing line today, so expect a bit of swearing.

Gingster Tue 16-Jun-20 08:02:21

Good morning all . Again a lovely sunny morning here on the Suffolk coast. Gentle ripple on the sea and no wind which is unusual living by the North Sea. Last night a thick mist rolled in . Usually we can sea the twinkling lights of boats on the horizon all lined up ready to go into port. Two nights ago, we counted 25.

Had coffee In the garden with two neighbours yesterday. It was so hot , after a while we retreated to the summerhouse. It’s so lovely to chat and have a catch-up. Urmstongran enjoy your LWW.

I know many of you have had storms and downpours, but we seem to miss it in this corner of East Anglia. We really could do with a full nights rain.

Scentia your planned next years cycling holiday sounds great. Where will you be travelling to? What fun for pooch riding in the trailer.

Couldn’t believe the scenes on the T.V last night with people pushing and shoving to get into the shops.

Is anyone watching The Salisbury Poisoning’s? Very interesting . Last episode this evening.

Hope the sun shines for you today ?

Gelisajams Tue 16-Jun-20 08:03:20

Good morning from a warm cloudy Morecambe Bay. DH is prowling in his shorts waiting for me to get a move on as we are off on a bike ride. Will check in later. Take care and stay safe?

Urmstongran Tue 16-Jun-20 08:12:18

I’ve been watching it Gingster. My, it’s tense isn’t it?

Marydoll Tue 16-Jun-20 08:13:33

Good morning * Mick* and all from a muggy Glasgow.

I had a very full day yesterday, but think I may have overdone it a bit.
I'm getting withdrawal symptoms from my course of steroids and my RA is making its presence known again and I'm feeling pretty yukky, yet I need to be busy!
My way of coping is to keep occupied, butthat should not include internet shopping, which is becoming all too easy , as I can't go out. wink

However, I do have some good news, I'm going into hospital on Monday to start my new treatment, instead of the postponed start date in September.
My need for treatment it seems, has outweighed the risks of catching Covid!
I will have to stay in hospital all day, as I have previous convictions for allergic reactions. All being well, I shall be home that night.
DH is so excited at the thought of his first trip out in 14 weeks! ?, he is even more excited at having an empty house!
Understandably my children are a bit anxious, even more so when I joked I was going to leave them all a letter, naming my favourite child.
They are always winding each other up, by asking who is the favourite child. wink

My DGD is having a short visit to nursery for her graduation ceremony and to receive a certificate. It's to give the children closure before starting school. I find it really sad, as only six children can be there at a each ceremony.
As DH always did the nursery run and has missed his wee pal so much (she gives him a full account of her day on the back way to the car), he will be waiting at the gates to surprise her, when DIL brings her out.
To complete his nursery pick up ritual, he will have ready, a carton of apple juice and an orange fruit jelly sweet, her favourite. ? Such simple things to bring joy.

It will be a chill day out day for me today, methinks!
To all my virtual friends, who are struggling so badly, I hope things improve. My dear friend Brunette, hoping you have had a better night. ?

Urmston, not too much wine for you today! Remember to behave like a lady! ??? wink

Enjoy your day everyone.

dragonfly46 Tue 16-Jun-20 08:19:43

Brilliant news Mary we will all be waiting anxiously to hear how it went.

Beechnut Tue 16-Jun-20 08:21:16

Here’s the salad grandMattie. It’s from a recentWoman’s Weekly magazine.

cornergran Tue 16-Jun-20 08:21:32

Good news about your treatment on Monday marydoll. Fingers will be crossed for an allergic reaction free day.

brook2704 Tue 16-Jun-20 08:22:57

Awww lovely news for your DGD marydoll and for your DH to be there for when she comes out ! I totally agree it’s the little things that bring so much joy ! ?
