Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey and wet start here in Brackley this morning, usual hopefully mail today.
Quiet day overall nothing planned in the way of needing anything in a rush.
Notice the "m queing at the supermarket early morning slow decline .
Take Care ,
Mick

Morning Mick, morning All. Dark and very damp start to our corner of Somerset, feels heavy. Torrential rain with an impressive thunderstorm early evening yesterday has been followed by more overnight rain. I’m deliberately not looking at the flattened plants. Forecast is more of the same. Feel for those impacted by flash flooding. Suspect no walk for us today, some indoor faffing and a couple of phone chats for me. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Good morning from a wet E Kent. The wonderful rain has been falling since about 1900 last night. No thunderstorms, just gently falling rain. The garden and fruit farms will love it.
Yes, Mick, I’ve noticed the early morning supermarket queues in decline. By accident, we went outside wrinklies hour and found the queues more tolerable. In fact yesterday, I went straight in. Oddly, it felt unreal...
Market day today. We ordered some meat from the local farmer. They raise their own animals and butcher them themselves, so although quite expensive, the meat is beautiful. Getting some skirt steak and breast of lamb to make baked beans. Yum.
One proviso, the painters need to be finished. They have done a fantastic job, above and beyond the remit. The whole house is now completely crack free. It looks wonderful. We shall miss their cheerful chatter and presence when they leave forever tonight!
Our next job is to put it all back together, do the extra IKEA cube thingies when they come next week, all ready for when DS1 comes out of quarantine! Happy days.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's a grey start to the day in Cheshire, but the cooler air is refreshing.

Now that I'm working at home the days are more structured, but in one sense I resent having to be at online meetings. It's nice to have 'conversations', but it's the third one of the week today and it's losing it's charm. Each one begins like a comedy sketch with, 'I can see you but can't hear you. Oh there you are Fred, oh no, you've gone again. You need to press...' grin

A leisurely start with a walk before I get on with things. Have a good day everyone whatever you're planning. Warmest wishes to those coping with worries or sickness. flowers for all.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. A wet day today, following on from a wet and thundery evening yesterday.
I have some rare spare time today and did want to go on a bike ride but, not only is it pouring with the wet stuff I seem to have trapped something in my buttocks/back. It has kept me awake most of the night I am furious ? what on earth have I done?
I know that is a minor thing to be furious about and I apologise to people with real problems❤️
Looking around my wild garden I am sort of regretting going for wild flowers everywhere this year, they just look like weeds, but I must say the garden is full of ? and ? There is just so many plants, they have spread like wildfire!! Also the rain has battered one lot and they are just laying on the ground feeling sorry for themselves?
Happy Days folks??? (well I am a misery this morning)
Take care everyone and stay safe today ❤️

Morning All

Wet here too in the north of Norfolk. It’s persisting it down! I can almost see the grass growing.

We had an early day out yesterday as DH decided he would like to go fishing with our little boat. So it was a day of extreme socially distancing in the middle of a Norfolk Broad. I don’t fish but really love sitting gently swaying in the sun, watching the birds, reading and attempting to find out how to use the coloured pencils DH bought me a couple of Christmas’ ago.

Good morning everyone. It’s another sunny day in Malta and I really ought to be out for a walk before the sun gets too hot, but here I am, procrastinating as per usual.

We had six new cases of covid yesterday which makes me think they have relaxed the rules a bit too early. I think when they open the airport things will get worse, unfortunately. I hope I’m wrong.

I need a few things from the shop so will have to go out at some point. I have only been using my local corner shop and have never had to queue. I find if I go around 1-2pm it’s usually empty.

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

Good morning Mick and all from rainy Worcs. - plenty of rain but without any thunder or lightning in last 24 hours.

Grandmattie the rain is not keeping your high spirits down, and nor should they. You sound very chipper, it’s infectious!
Scentia oh you poor thing, you’ll have to be careful with that buttock pain.

I had a lovely time yesterday. I returned my sister’s surprise visit (she did it about 10 days ago) and I drove to her home. I knew she’d be in, we’d had our usual phone call first thing. She has a friend staying who has joined her ‘bubble’, and her DIL was making a visit too. The 4 of us were able to sit in the large open-sided African Lodge in her garden and while away a couple of hours with women’s-chat. I took my own drink and a tin of pecan shortbread biscuits. ?

Hope you can all find something to entertain you/keep you busy indoors, since the rain seems to be a feature across most of the country today. Take care ?

Urmstongran Thu 18-Jun-20 07:08:28

The sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

When we were down on the beach yesterday I realised what was ‘missing’. The hoardes of ‘looky-looky’ men who arrive from N. Africa and the sub-Sahara each season! It’s so quiet along the paseo with no flights as yet.

The Spanish call them ‘blanket men’ because they spread their counterfeit wares out on a sheet, ready to grab the 4 corners, tie in a knot, hoist the bundles over their shoulders and run from the Guardia Civil.

This was a photo taken last year down on the marina. If I’m honest I don’t miss them at all (and neither do the local shops and market stalls whose owners pay taxes).

Years ago they would wander up and down the beaches and bars, selling ‘RayBan’ sunglasses, cigarette lighters, beads and bracelets. Nowadays it’s more like a franchise of ‘Sports Direct’ with fluorescent ‘designer’ trainers, knock-off football shirts and ‘Michael Kors’ handbags!

It’s grocery day for the 3 of us today. No other plans so we will see how the day pans out.

Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from a wet east London, don’t know if it’s stopped since yesterday evening. I’m going to have to bail out the plants in containers later. As it’s Thursday, it’s foodbank this morning; hope the rain eases as we have no cover for people to queue under. Choir this evening and it’s ‘I’ve got the music in me’ for the song to learn. There may be a bit of bopping. Hope you have a good day.

Pantglas2 Thu 18-Jun-20 07:21:08

Morning all from a dry north Wales where it feels fresh and clean after torrential rain last night as we went to bed!

It sounds like you’ve trapped a nerve Scentia and must be so painful ?. I almost did my back in yesterday as I helped DH manoeuvre the hammock frame he’s built into the back garden! He forgets I’m not a man when he needs a hand!

Window cleaning today, those darned flies have been pooing all over em! Aargh! That’s the downside of having lovely weather isn’t it.

Stay safe and well everyone x

Good morning from rainy Colchester.
An indoor day today.
Jay's YouTube pub quiz with my extended family on Zoom tonight.

Beechnut Thu 18-Jun-20 07:22:59

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy, very wet and warm.

Awcchh Scentia I hope that doesn’t last long for you.

Last night I intended to watch Sewing Bee and I saw the title come up and that was it until I woke a few hours later, came to bed and slept right through until about 20minutes ago.

Doesn’t look like I’ll get outside today so I plan to do some crafting.

Your day in the boat sounds idyllic Nfk.

Welcome to yesterday’s new good morningers.

Have a good day all and don’t forget your umbrella ? ☔️

Urmstongran Thu 18-Jun-20 07:27:37

Ouch Scentia that sounds awfully painful and you’ll be shattered as it kept you awake. x

Not long since you badly bruised your calf too. Exercise can be hazardous .... #lazygran

Beechnut Thu 18-Jun-20 07:28:02

Until I looked at your photo properly Urm I thought the looky_looky men were the sort to be looking at the blue bikini girl you posted the other day. ?

kittylester Thu 18-Jun-20 07:29:49

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire. We had a fabulous thunderstorm yesterday afternoon with torrential rain.

Today I have to ring the butcher with my order which I forgot to do yesterday so I hope he can deliver tomorrow.

And, we have a Sainbury's delivery this afternoon.

And, neighbours drinks in our front gardens if the rain ever stops!!

dragonfly46 Thu 18-Jun-20 07:34:09

Good morning from a very wet Leicestershire.

Zoom meeting with good friends this morning.

Hope everyone has agood day.

grannysyb Thu 18-Jun-20 07:34:30

Good persistent rain here, DH will be pleased, he has seeded part of our allotment with a bee and butterfly friendly mix. We cleared that patch earlier on and two beehives will be going there. We are waiting to hear when the nucleus colonies are ready, I will have to drive him up to Knebworth to get them. As it'sraining will get on with the sofa. Hope your pain goes soon Scentia. Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Thu 18-Jun-20 07:38:09

Good morning Mick and all from Inverness , I don’t want to mention the weather, it’s yet another misty foggy grey cloud sort of day ☹️ Yesterday it lingered all day and my washing just hung there looking very sad. Brought it in eventually and dried it all in the tumble dryer ...

Oh for some Spanish sunshine Urms or for an idyllic afternoon on the water like nfk - I’m really missing my holidays !!
I bet your house looks really beautiful grandMattie after all that work from the friendly painters. Enjoy !

Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and has a lovely day. Scentia hope your back pain eases soon and take care everyone ?

Gelisajams Thu 18-Jun-20 07:42:05

Good morning from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. DH is out running and has left me in bed with tea and my iPad. I spend fat too much time on it, I really must get back into the habit of reading a proper book or crafting in my spare time. I bought DS2 a correspondence course on his favourite subject of Ancient Egypt which he’s really enjoying. They have dozens of courses on weird and wonderful subjects. I’m sure I’ll find something to stimulate the old grey matter!
Not sure how today will unfold as rain is forecast for later.
Thinking of all with problems of one sort or another. Take care and stay safe.?

Urmstongran Thu 18-Jun-20 07:47:12

Beechnut ?

harrigran Thu 18-Jun-20 07:49:33

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Hopefully this is the last day of fog and cloud before we have some sunshine.
Talked to my sister in Germany last night, the stress is making her quite unwell but thankfully she has seen a doctor and been prescribed something to help.
Need to sort paperwork today and get recycling ready for collection, sounds like an exciting day ahead.
Take care.

Greyduster Thu 18-Jun-20 07:51:31

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool wet South Yorkshire. We had a rather lacklustre thunderstorm and a bit of rain last evening, but it must have poured overnight and is set for the day. Over to DDs later to collect some shopping son in law is doing for us, but other than that, an in day. I have to say I feel rather low today - it’s not been a good week so far. Have a good day, one and all.

Sar53 Thu 18-Jun-20 07:55:37

Good morning from a very wet Essex by the sea. It absolutely fell down during the night. The grass might start looking like grass again rather than straw !!
No plans today. May go out for a walk if it dries up but if not an indoor day. DH does the shopping on a Thursday but he has done something to his neck and can't turn his head very far so I'm not sure what's going to happen there. I'm sure we will work something out.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Gingster Thu 18-Jun-20 07:56:56

Good morning and at last we have some rain., here on the Suffolk coast. I think you grans in Scotland will have the best weather today.

DH went to the hospital yesterday to have a cardio monitor fitted following in from the TIA he had 8 weeks ago. He has to go back again today to have it removed and then await results.

I think I will make the most of my time with DH out of the house, erm....... what shall I do? Bit of cleaning and tidying, make a meat pie with yesterday’s left over mince, jigsaw and reading. Of course I will have to walk the little pooch along the beach, even if it’s still raining. The day will fly by, and he’ll be back before I know it. ?.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you’re doing and enjoy your sun in Scotland ?
