Good morning all from a grey and muggy Glasgow.
I must have been up at least half a dozen times in the night. I feel as if I have been on the booze! If only!
Yesterday's trip to the garage was interesting to say the least!
I was a wreck by the time I got there. I hadn't realised that the speed limit had been rescinded during lockdown.
I have never see so many impatient boy and girl racers on the road. One young man tried to overtake a bus and me, realised he had nowhere to go and was left facing oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the road!?
Remember this is Scotland and nearly everything is closed, so where were they going in such a hurry? ?
We have been using a family run Honda franchise for over twenty years and the service has been outstanding until it was taken over this year by a major car company.
My experience with my car in March was bad, but DH's was even worse.
Now DH is not a man to make a fuss and wouldn't phone to ask about the progress of his car, but when it got to five o'clock and he hadn't heard, I suggested he ring. He should have had the car back at one o'clock. ?
It was a simple service with a prepaid plan, but we had to take all the original paperwork, to prove we had one, as they couldn't access the previous companies records!!
DH couldn't get to speak to anyone and waited for a call back. Nothing!!!
Eventually I insisted on going to the garage. It was already 6pm. It's a half an hour journey, we got their and all the gates to this massive car complex ( lots of franchises) were closed and I had to drive about, trying to find a way in.
We eventually got there to find a lone salesman waiting with DHs key. No paperwork and didn't know where DH's car was in this massive complex.
DH of course, meekly accepted the key and went looking for his car.? Ten hours to do a service!!
I shall be very busy today, contacting everyone and anyone. I have the name of the managing director of the whole company, so I will be contacting him. Phew rant over! ?
To add insult to injury, I spotted TKMaxx, and all my favourite shops in the retail park, adjacent to it. Don't even think about it , said DH. We have kept you safe for fourteen weeks, don't ruin it now, when you are going into hospital.
What a spoilsport!
I'm hoping it will stay dry today , if not I plan to make a start on my craft room.
I'm donating my Sissix machine to my future DIL. She wanted to borrow my equipment to make her wedding invitations, but I no longer use them, so she can keep them.
A win, win situation for both of us.
One less thing for my family to clear out!
Kalu, you could have dropped in for a socially distanced coffee.
People in your neck of the woods are doing the right thing and being careful, unlike the people we saw in the petrol station.
We stopped off in Paisley for DH to fill up my car with petrol. DH had his gloves and mask and I stayed in the car to stay safe.
The petrol station was very busy , but not one single person wore a mask or gloves.
DH went into pay and despite the area being lined off, no- one observed social distancing. People were going the wrong way and pushing to get past. He said it was quite scary.
I'm going to cut my hair, I hope it turns out better than DH's. I thought I had picked up the thinning scissors, but had actually picked up the very sharp cutting ones. He hasn't noticed the bald patch yet!?
Have a good day all. I hope those who are feeling low perk up.?
