Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey and wet here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, caught the bus to Buckingham and did a Lidl shop , got what I wanted and returned .
Very few bus users , think Grant Shapps is sending out the wrong message ,as there are people out there using buses is maybe there only means of getting out and about .
Made a Chicken Curry yesterday not in slow cooker but in the frying pan , have got four separate portions including rice out of it will freeze for later .
Take Care ,
Mick

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?. Another gorgeous day ahead - what to do?

Himself has just brought me a cuppa and suggested lunch down along the paseo - La Carihuela - at one of the chiringuitas. We love Sundays along there as many of the Spanish gather in their Sunday best to promenade, greet friends and eat with families. It’s always the busiest lunchtime of the week! We had lunch there a fortnight ago with a crisp G&T first so we plan a similar afternoon - this really IS like an extended summer holiday .... cue Cliff Richard ? ?
?

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. You too BlueSapphire if you’re peeping. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning Mick it's grey and raining here in Cheshire too, but it's brightening already. Yesterday turned into a lovely day after a similar start and I spent a lot of time working/sitting in the garden. I looked up quite by chance and saw an iridescent cloud in the sky. It was lovely, just like a chunk of a rainbow.

Glad you enjoyed your trip out yesterday Mick. Advice about going out and about seems to be changing rapidly now, but I will continue to be cautious.

The first smile of my day today was the news that a burglar had to call the police because he was stuck in a window. Imagine the banter back in the station. grin

I will take today as it unfolds. I have work to do, but keep sneaking off to watch the Simon Bolivar story on Netflix. I think it's my 'Myfix'.

Hope the weather is kind to those with family gatherings planned and that Sunday is kind to one and all. flowers

Good morning everyone. Another hot day beginning here in Malta.

Urmston the Spanish culture has a lot in common with the Maltese.

Sundays here sound much the same with families going out to eat and taking their ‘passagiata’ along the promenade, although not in the heat of the day but always when the sun has gone down. Children stay up until all hours because they have had their siesta in the afternoon.

My friend who has cancer, and recently lost her husband, came over last night and we shared a bottle of Prosecco and a quiche. She spent the night now I have my spare room back again. DS had been using it as his office for nearly three months but he’s now back at work.

I must go and see if she’s awake and take her a cuppa.

Hoping you all have the best Sunday possible.☀️

Morning All

A grey, but still nicely warm, morning here in the north of Norfolk. No promenading by the sea for us yet as many car parks and most loos are still closed. Perhaps next week!

Today we shall be mostly pottering in the garden and having another go at the horrendous jigsaw DD1 got us. I feel triumphant it I can find one piece!

Have a restful Sunday Everyone.

Morning Mick and All.

Grey day here in South Bucks but brightening up as the day progresses, which is fortunate as a friend is coming at 5.00 pm to have a nice chilled glass of wine and nibbles on our lawn to celebrate her birthday a few days ago.

Whatever you are doing folks enjoy your day.

Ginny42 Sun 21-Jun-20 07:09:49

Weather update on my miserable post earlier. The rain clouds have completely disappeared and the sun's shining in a clear blue sky. sunshine I feel different already.

grandMattie Sun 21-Jun-20 07:14:31

Morning from a great E Kent. Not warm.
Glad you had a good day, Mick. And that chicken curry sounds delicious. We had salmon, baked potatoes, beetroot and chard from the garden last night.
Ginny, you might be interested to know that one of Bolivar's most trusted corevolutionaries was a chap from E. Kent, Wingham near Canterbury to be exact, called William Miller. He died in Callao eventually. There is a plaque in the church put up by the Peruvian government not long ago.
Nothing much today. “Church”, walk... we might pop into the actual church for a quiet pray, but I’m still feeling very annoyed with the vicar who took 6 weeks before he sent a circular mail to his parishioners. Not very sensitive or charitable.
Stay safe, stay well.

Urmstongran Sun 21-Jun-20 07:15:07

Great news Ginny42! Our youngest daughter and family live nearby and a sunny afternoon means they will be able to sit in my stepfather’s garden to enjoy a drink with him on Father’s Day.

I’m going to ring him later and I’m glad he will have company today - he loves seeing his great-grandchildren and they are apparently very good, sitting on their individual picnic rugs on his grass! All being sensible as he is 87y.

Sar53 Sun 21-Jun-20 07:15:47

Good morning from a cloudy and windy Essex by the sea. The forecast is not so good for today. A shame as we have been invited to my stepdaughter's garden to celebrate Fathers Day and my birthday .
We had a lovely walk yesterday along a beautiful deserted stretch of the coast. I've attached a couple of pictures .
Whatever you are doing today have the best time you can and stay safe xx

Beechnut Sun 21-Jun-20 07:19:36

Ginny is that the burglar story where he was hanging upside down stuck in the window?

Good Morning everyone from a damp and sunny Severnside.

What to do today I don’t know yet. Perhaps I’ll have a bike ride first thing and then see how it goes.

Hope we all have a lovely enjoyable day like Urms and stay safe ??

Beechnut Sun 21-Jun-20 07:22:28

Happy Birthday Sar I hope it brightens up for your special day ???

Kalu Sun 21-Jun-20 07:30:50

Good morning all from a very wet and dreich day in Glasgow at the moment.

We received a message from a friend who is part of our WhatsApp group of close friends. Her message was to tell us she had arrived at her holiday home, a good distance away, with her two grandchildren, from different families. Her
husband isn’t with them as he is shielding! Hmm! I’m quite taken aback at her unexpected decision to totally disregard the guidelines.

The weather has quickly changed to brighter and bits of blue sky which means we will go for a walk hoping we don’t get caught in a downpour.

Have a pleasant day all and warm wishes to those of you who have struggles to get through.

Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow Marydoll. I will have everything crossed for a positive outcome for you. ?

Kalu Sun 21-Jun-20 07:41:04

Happy Birthday Sar. Hope the weather stays good for you all to enjoy a lovely get together.

Urmstongran Sun 21-Jun-20 07:41:04

Oh yes ‘all the best tomorrow’ from me too Marydoll. Good thought Kalu. Better say it now as I’m not sure whether you’ll be orf early before Mick opens in the morning! I expect you’ll be apprehensive today but from tomorrow you’re hopefully getting your life back on track.

Good morning Mick and followers from Worcs. It’s sunny although wet everywhere just now.
Happy Birthday to you Sar ??????Have a super day with family.
This afternoon we’ll take soft drinks, cups and walking boots to my sister’s and along with her DH and our DD1 and SIL we’re going to walk a disused railway line that borders their farmland. There’s usually lots of wild flowers and lambs to see along the way (no trains!).
Have a great day whatever you’re doing.
Marydoll ? Hope all goes well tomorrow and for duration of your treatment. ?

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 21-Jun-20 08:08:20

Good morning from east London, grey with squalls of rain sweeping past the window; improvement forecast for later. Have to say Father’s Day hasn’t registered too strongly with me; kept wondering why DD was so keen to come over to us today. GD1 has stayed overnight with us, something she hasn’t done for about a year given it wasn’t safe during the building works and then the virus hit. As DP’s back is still very painful, I was chief play buddy spending the evening in the attic/den trying to build Lego pirate island. Or rather, I spent time trying to follow the instructions piecing stuff together while she just grabbed the bits she wanted, rigged up some buildings, pirate ship etc and got on with her game. Hopefully will get a walk today when family come over.
Best wishes to Sar and any others who may be celebrating; hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone, it’s been a wet night in Oxfordshire and a damp and cloudy start this morning, but apart from a click and collect t at lunch time there is nothing much to do today, so DH can have a rest.
Every small job he starts outside turns into a full blown major event, he cleared the ivy from the front gate posts and thought to himself ‘that seemed to move’ gave it a shove and the bottom of the post was rotten, so he’s had his head down a hole trying to get 3 feet of post out of the ground without disturbing the new driveway we had put down. Happy? Nope.
Anyway it sounds as though you all have exciting things to do today, so have fun everybody, but stay safe.
marydoll best wishes for tomorrow and come back soon.

Greyduster Sun 21-Jun-20 08:15:12

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A dull, potentially wet day for South Yorkshire. We were lucky yesterday to have good weather for an Italian takeaway in DD’s garden - delicious. I discovered that while I used to be good at swingball, I’m now rubbish at swingball! Today will be a quiet one. DH is watching his football team on TV, and I will get on with some knitting while watching the rain batter my garden again. Chicken stuffed with Roquefort, wrapped in in Parma ham for dinner - as it is Father’s Day.
Happy birthday Sar??. Stay safe folks.

brook2704 Sun 21-Jun-20 08:17:40

Good morning everyone from Inverness. There’s some grey cloud around and light rain but it’s not too bad. Yesterday turned into a really warm sunny day so hopefully more of that later ?. We popped to DD2 garden in the morning and in the afternoon enjoyed a longish riverside walk to nowhere - one of those where you can’t really decide where to turn back so just keep on going !

Happy Birthday Sar53 enjoy your special day ????
Lovely that your friend could stay over Bellasnana
Will be thinking of you tomorrow Marydoll hope all goes to plan

Hope everyone having family get togethers has a lovely day and take care whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Sun 21-Jun-20 08:22:56

Good morning all. A grey start here on the Suffolk coast. No rain though. We might have a sprinkling later on

The longest day today. I can’t believe how this year is racing along.

The children and GC have all sent cards and gifts for Fathers Day, as we won’t be seeing them. I expect they will FaceTime later.

Hope all goes well for Marydoll tomorrow. I know we’ll all be thinking of her and sending our best wishes.

Happy birthday Sar . Lovely pics - I seem to recognise where you were. It’s one of my favourite places to walk, when we are in Essex. We will take little pooch on a longish walk today along the beach and then inland to a deserted common, where no one seems to go ?. Then back across the wheat fields home. The poppies are abundant this year, as all the wild flowers have been .

Have a wonderful Father’s Day , all you great dads. Hope they spoil you rotten. ♥️

Lins1066 Sun 21-Jun-20 08:30:33

Good Morning Mick and all. Dry here on the S Welsh coast after overnight rain, windy though.
BBQ later and DS and partner are doing the grilling along with DD for Fathers Day. Maybe a case of too many cooks!
Happy Birthday Sar53 ?
All the best for tomorrow Marydoll I will be thinking of you.
Stay safe everyone

ninathenana Sun 21-Jun-20 08:33:41

Good morning everyone
Grey and windy in Kent, looks like rain any minute.
Roast chicken with all the trimmings tonight a Fathers Day treat for himself, followed by chocolate gateau. DD and GC will pop by this afternoon.
Have a good day.

Scentia Sun 21-Jun-20 08:34:46

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Looks like another nice day, but my phone tells me I am wrong, the rain is on its way!
Had the most tremendous day at ‘work’ yesterday with my Young charge at the seaside. I can’t call it work as I had such a lovely day. Although I don’t think they had heard of SD in this particular town.?

Happy Father’s Day to all the Daddies out there.
I didn’t open my eyes until 7.55 am today, quite unheard of for me. I will read all your lovely post with my coffee and toast.
Take care everyone and stay safe today❤️

Beechnut Sun 21-Jun-20 08:38:29

All the best for your hospital trip tomorrow Marydoll. Will you spend today deciding what to wear.
