Good Morning everyone from very hot France where a couple of rain spots have just hit my study window ! What? I can see so much blue sky, so I shall just ignore it and stick with the forecast of 30+ for the foreseeable.
Marydoll gently does it. It'll come right. Though maybe not if you are subjected to nights of The Great Snore. I know what that can be like. We have phases of that chez nous. Once - to avoid middle of the night shouting and bodily harm, I recorded DH on my tablet. Next morning, early, and when he was quietly reading (and suitably refreshed, no doubt) I lay very still and pretended to be The Snoring Wife by unleashing my tablet sounds. Cue roars of laughter - he did say that no human being, especially a Laydee, could possible make that row! Mmm!
Gingster I would have loved that walk with the dogs. However, any large animal shape in the distance will make me very cautious. I bet it was a deer, but here - well you never know. My DH constantly says to me that just because we have bears, wolves and wild boar in France, doesn't mean that one of them will be standing behind the nearest tree waiting to confront us. Me? Well, I'm not so sure. I once saw a massive Sanglier/boar from the car - and what a grouch he looked!
We're possibly more afraid of hunters here with their sloppy ways and lax laws and an excess of to add to the general jollity.
Ginny I feel that "manicured" should apply to public parks and gardens. I'm sure I saw some photos of your garden on another thread? So pretty.
Cherry Poor poor you. I know that doesn't help but it must be hard to get your equilibrium back again and again. But you just get on with it in your positive way. Take care, please, mooch about and enjoy a rest. Scentia you're a riot and just the kind of company to be let loose with kids in a theme park, I should imagine. Enjoy your day.
Greydusters x 2 Congrats. 2 large medals and maybe 2 large frying pans containing a full English to set you up for the day?
"The weekly grocery shop for us 3". You are lovely Urms. What will she do when/if you leave? You've been her guardian angels.
Tell it like it is to your Consultant, Lins - no holding back.
NannyT don't overdo the lawn vacuuming and painting the flowers - you don't want to turn into me. I'm busy planning edibles to go with drinkables for tomorrow night. Another warm evening in the garden with more chums. The Fajita-making was fun but too hot in the kitchen, so I am sticking to salads and things like little cheese pies and smoked trout and horseradish on brown bread and crab on blinis. Or maybe something else. I can never make up my mind and that's what usually takes the time.
Oopsa So very relieved for you. Get totally better soon.
Harrigran of course a Netflix day - and tomorrow maybe another. I don't think anyone would ever prescribe paperwork in your case. And gilly please tell us what's the problem with your legs. You're so young, you should have sensible legs at your age.
Susan OK you win the prize for the holy grail of hair appointments, but I suspect that a Sunday one might be cheating.
Just received a mail from the Town Hall to advise that finally the Post Office has revised their mad timetable - nothing at all to do with Covid - which they recently adopted and which actually involved different times every day. Then when you turned up you'd see a sign telling you that they were closed "exceptionally". Mad! And maddening! Back to 7.30-12 & 2-4.
Now I shall finally be able to post off my glasses to England and get new lenses fitted. A relief.
Pants You often say "dull" N.Wales weather and I laugh each time....how can it be dull when you "loll a'bed" chamber potting and you travel "bemasked". I reckon you probably have a serving wench and a wimple too. Different times, different cultures, eh?
Coffee is calling and I must press on with the (remains of the) day. The dozen rain spots have dried up and sky is still blue. I shall go outside and put the hosepipe on my buddleia. We have a lovely white and another orange one and they are covered in butterflies, including Swallowtails which fly so slowly and always perch on me. They know how to make me happy.
Whatever you're doing, enjoy your varied days, keep safe and well. Maybe stay home this Saturday - or is that just hype?
Sending lots of good wishes, sunshine and 'get wells' from French France. Hugs x
