Am I the lucky one ?Haircut last Tuesday and chiropodist yesterday, I’d like to say I feel like a new women if the rest of my body followed suit. My husband bow crippled with back problem so although he is ‘allowed’ out once a day he’s been in too much pain, Never rains etc......

Good Morning everyone from very hot France where a couple of rain spots have just hit my study window ! What? I can see so much blue sky, so I shall just ignore it and stick with the forecast of 30+ for the foreseeable.

Marydoll gently does it. It'll come right. Though maybe not if you are subjected to nights of The Great Snore. I know what that can be like. We have phases of that chez nous. Once - to avoid middle of the night shouting and bodily harm, I recorded DH on my tablet. Next morning, early, and when he was quietly reading (and suitably refreshed, no doubt) I lay very still and pretended to be The Snoring Wife by unleashing my tablet sounds. Cue roars of laughter - he did say that no human being, especially a Laydee, could possible make that row! Mmm!

Gingster I would have loved that walk with the dogs. However, any large animal shape in the distance will make me very cautious. I bet it was a deer, but here - well you never know. My DH constantly says to me that just because we have bears, wolves and wild boar in France, doesn't mean that one of them will be standing behind the nearest tree waiting to confront us. Me? Well, I'm not so sure. I once saw a massive Sanglier/boar from the car - and what a grouch he looked!
We're possibly more afraid of hunters here with their sloppy ways and lax laws and an excess of wine to add to the general jollity.

Ginny I feel that "manicured" should apply to public parks and gardens. I'm sure I saw some photos of your garden on another thread? So pretty.

Cherry Poor poor you. I know that doesn't help but it must be hard to get your equilibrium back again and again. But you just get on with it in your positive way. Take care, please, mooch about and enjoy a rest. Scentia you're a riot and just the kind of company to be let loose with kids in a theme park, I should imagine. Enjoy your day.

Greydusters x 2 Congrats. 2 large medals and maybe 2 large frying pans containing a full English to set you up for the day?
"The weekly grocery shop for us 3". You are lovely Urms. What will she do when/if you leave? You've been her guardian angels.

Tell it like it is to your Consultant, Lins - no holding back.
NannyT don't overdo the lawn vacuuming and painting the flowers - you don't want to turn into me. I'm busy planning edibles to go with drinkables for tomorrow night. Another warm evening in the garden with more chums. The Fajita-making was fun but too hot in the kitchen, so I am sticking to salads and things like little cheese pies and smoked trout and horseradish on brown bread and crab on blinis. Or maybe something else. I can never make up my mind and that's what usually takes the time.

Oopsa So very relieved for you. Get totally better soon.
Harrigran of course a Netflix day - and tomorrow maybe another. I don't think anyone would ever prescribe paperwork in your case. grin And gilly please tell us what's the problem with your legs. You're so young, you should have sensible legs at your age.

Susan OK you win the prize for the holy grail of hair appointments, but I suspect that a Sunday one might be cheating.

Just received a mail from the Town Hall to advise that finally the Post Office has revised their mad timetable - nothing at all to do with Covid - which they recently adopted and which actually involved different times every day. Then when you turned up you'd see a sign telling you that they were closed "exceptionally". Mad! And maddening! Back to 7.30-12 & 2-4.
Now I shall finally be able to post off my glasses to England and get new lenses fitted. A relief.

Pants You often say "dull" N.Wales weather and I laugh each time....how can it be dull when you "loll a'bed" chamber potting and you travel "bemasked". I reckon you probably have a serving wench and a wimple too. Different times, different cultures, eh? grin

Coffee is calling and I must press on with the (remains of the) day. The dozen rain spots have dried up and sky is still blue. I shall go outside and put the hosepipe on my buddleia. We have a lovely white and another orange one and they are covered in butterflies, including Swallowtails which fly so slowly and always perch on me. They know how to make me happy.

Whatever you're doing, enjoy your varied days, keep safe and well. Maybe stay home this Saturday - or is that just hype?

Sending lots of good wishes, sunshine and 'get wells' from French France. Hugs x

A late good morning from me today! I've been up for a while but I have been lazy as I have a bit of a headache. Nothing to moan about considering the trials some others have. I hope marydoll and others feel better soon. I'm babysitting again this afternoon. I normally only do Mondays and Tuesdays but I'm required today. I don't mind as I love being with my grandson. Anyway, I'm off for a shower and some pottering. Enjoy your day.

Just popped back in to wish Cherry a better day without seizures. You must feel wretched.

In my imagination I’d like to invite all the poorly grans to sit comfortably in a lovely room together, with a big screen, and put on a feel-good film like Mama Mia, with ice cream, cakes and drinks brought round to them on a trolley ?

They all deserve spoiling. ?

Good morning from a brighter, drier day from Glasgow.

Only plan for today is to visit the garden centre at some point.

What a rotten time you have had Cherry No wonder you are feeling worn out. I think we should rename you Cheery. A name that befits your attitude when I read your posts.
Hoping you, Marydoll and Harri feel a bit stronger as the day goes on.
Good news Oopsadaisy. I have been thinking about you and pleased to hear your test was negative.
Wishing for a positive outcome for your DH gillgran
Hoping you can have a restful afternoon when you have finished at ‘that place’ gilly?
Happy Birthday Benjamina??. ‘To the same man* gave me a chuckle?
Many congratulations Grey and Mr Grey. I’m sure you equally deserve the frying pan medal Grey. Enjoy your day.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day and a better one for you BlueSapphire and those of our friends who are having difficulties just now.

Woke early, saw it was raining, went back to sleep so late start at Somerset Towers. Have promised DH a trip to the garden centre - his first commercial outing since lockdown - but will have to wait for the rain to pass. He is really excited at the prospect, when normally he would be too concerned about how much I might spend.

I have an appointment with the hairdresser on Monday afternoon and can’t wait. Does anyone else have hair which doesn’t grow down so much as out in lumps? Will be so glad not to look like a perambulating haystack.

Thinking of all those not well and/or worried, and glad to see EV back with us.

HAZBEEN Thu 02-Jul-20 11:03:54

Good morning all from Surrey. The sun has just managed to make an appearance not that I will going out today. More painting at the Hazbeen house, not by me but OH has to have his labourer around in case he needs anything ie. make a cuppa, pass that brush or even get that cat out of here! Still he reckons on being finished today so the kitchen will be usable from tomorrow!
Have a good day everyone, Marydoll take it easy and congratulations to all celebrating birthdays and anniversaries today!

Barmeyoldbat Thu 02-Jul-20 11:23:25

Good morning all from a damp Somerset. I have a dental appointment at 2 today to put back my crown that came out when i was eating a sandwich. I feel bit bad about it because my dentist can only see 4 patients a day because of this virus, he has to leave one hour between patients and longer is they have medical problems, but he reckons he needs to see me. Today with the damp weather my hair goes frizzy so I have this mane of thick curly/fizzy white hair that I can't do anything with. Still I only have to go 4 more weeks before my appointment at the hairdressers. Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning from a warm but drizzly East Midlands.

Food shop done and put away and hoping to get the bedrooms hoovered and dusted. I’m not one of these fanatical house proud people but I think the spiders are even getting scared of the dust! So in at the deep and hope to see the light of day by teatime.

Stay safe and sane. X

Good afternoon from Cloudy Harrogate, I'm late today because my DD2 and GS turned up (6 year old with Down Syndrome). He loves counting. When I tried to count with him all I got was 'Mine'. I wasn't allowed to do it with him. He struggles with talking, but this morning he excelled himself.

EllanVannin Thu 02-Jul-20 12:56:50

Thank you again ladies. x I'm hoping not to lose the internet now and in the foreseeable with the new hub up and running.

Did my local shopping armed with list and scurried along with my " little-used " shopping trolley---I'm usually a bag-carrier but weights are beginning to get me down.

Anyway, trundling along, there was a young chap lying on his back in a doorway, moaning and a woman with a little dog keeping her allotted distance and asked me if I had a mobile phone which I don't and she hadn't either.

Very few people about so I carried on to the shop, got my goods and walked back only to find the chap still there moaning and shaking but another woman was there who'd phoned for an ambulance 20 minutes ago but no sign and she was shouting to the young chap to stay awake. Whether it was a drug overdose I don't know but he was in a bad way.

Normally I'd have tried to help but he may have had the virus too so I wasn't going to take any chances but felt so sorry for him lying there shaking and reaching his bony bare arms out. I felt completely helpless but rather than stand there I came home. I probably won't get to know how he got on poor thing. I hope he's okay.

If it was a drug overdose he was meant to be found with being outside and it was probably a cry for help. So sad in these times.

You never know the minute.

CherryCezzy Thu 02-Jul-20 13:00:29

Just popping back in to say I hope your DH'S operation goes well today gillgran and take care of your hand harrigran, I know what a bad hand feels like so I do empathise and I hope it improves quickly.

A big thank you to all the well-wishers, it's very much appreciated.

Take care and be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

No Alexa today? I hope I didn’t put you off when I mentioned asking the value of your house next week? Sorry.
