Good Morning Everyone,
Its clear blue sky over Brackley this morning .
My usual day of housework ,and then get the bus into Buckingham for a short while .
Once the bus services show signs of improving which looks like next week , but we will see.
I am also looking ahead to watching cycling on TV which is live as well ,some racing has started and have followed the results .
Mind you locally , we have the first of 2 rounds of F1 at Silverstone this weekend , it will probably be one of quietest events with no crowds or helicopters overhead in abundance .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning all. Bright today in E Kent.
Was woken up at dawn by gulls making a horrible noise.. When I got up an hour ago, I realised that foxes had got to our food bin and spread the contents over the road. The gulls were trying to eat the rest -potato peelings, pineapple and onion skins etc. Horrible mess which I picked up (in my pyjamas - it was0530) using dustpan and brush.
Yesterday, we thawed out our upright freezer, tidied up the garage in readiness for getting loads of tinned and preserved food. DH is convinced not only that there will be a winter resurgence of CV19 but also the panic buying and stocking up will be far worse in the winter. I’m an obedient wife...
Marydoll, I hope the treatment was less ferocious.*gilly*, trust the customers put in their order.
Hope today is kind to everyone, especially those with body, mind or soul difficulties. Stay safe.

Good morning from The New Forest. I saw a quip on the internet a while back, I wish that I had kept it. It read, "In the UK they drive on the left side of the road. Here in Montana, we drive on what's left of the road. There was a photo of a pot hole strewn road.
Yesterday evening our car hit one pot hole too many, this morning it will be having new front springs fitted. What an expensive bane pot holes are.

Good morning Mick and early morning gang.
Cool breeze this morning, I’ve shut the bedroom window, not opened it!
Mick I’m glad you’ve got some sport to look forward too, I went to Silverstone one year and we queued for hours in the small lanes to get in. Stayed at a lovely B&B overnight so we’d be there early and get our seats.
Grandmattie the gulls are getting bigger by the year I swear, do they not know the dangers of obesity? And their squawking
is so unnecessarily loud.
BladeAnnie I hope you had a good night after your tear ducts treatment yesterday
Marydoll I’ve p.m.’d - thinking about you a lot. Hope you are okay and home now.

I have emails to do today, and a bit of housework like Mick,
then just see what the day brings.

Take care all ?

Morning everyone from a bright south Cornwall. Oh grandMattie what a way to start the day! We have seagull-proof rubbish bags here, provided by the council. Don't know if they're fox-proof though! wink To my allotment today, to sort my greenhouse and pick peas and chard and rocket and cook lunch in my shed. Hoping the day goes well for those under any clouds.

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 06:38:53

Oh Spangler no! Not your lovely shiny car ! ??
Potholes are so dangerous and especially if the road is wet they just look like dark shadows.
Hope you are ok?

Marydoll Tue 28-Jul-20 06:45:44

Good morning all from a dull and breezy Glasgow.

Not much planned today, as I'm feeling a bit wiped out after my treatment yesterday. If the side effects are still severe after yesterday's dose, the docs are considering stopping it altogether. ☹️Due to cost, this treatment is only approved when all else fails, so I have nothing left to fall back on.
I do have a prescription to calm the mouth ulcers down, so I should feel better once the medication starts working. Fingers and toes crossed.

Blade Annie, I hope all went well yesterday with your procedure.

My husband is off to play golf ( yipee) so it's Spotify list playing and doing my own thing.
I have to finish sewing on the name tags on DGD's school uniform, I hadn't realised the Scottish schools are back in two weeks. ? I need to get a move on.
I have to admit to having a year in my eye, when I held up the tiny aged 3 to 4 school shirt. DGD is so small, compared to her friends.

As always, thinking of all our missing posters and sending virtual hugs. I noticed that Brunette, hasn't been posting recently, I hope you are ok.

Welcome all to the newbies on this thread. Good to see more males posting.

Have the best day you can and stay safe, everyone.

Good morning all from a breezy and cloudy North Leicestershire.

Just the mountain of ironing to do today and our occasional gardener is coming for the morning.

We had a lovely day with DD3 and her children yesterday. We didnt know whether we were allowed to hug so we did just to be on the safe side!! And arranged for a sleepover.

Thinking of everyone with worries and troubles today.

Beechnut Tue 28-Jul-20 06:57:50

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is sunny and a much better start than yesterday.

I hope your day went well Marydoll.

Keep the loo rolls in the house Mattie, you don’t want them getting damp ?

I want to carry on sorting the craft stash. There is a lot of foil confetti that needs sorting into different piles.

I think the gulls are coming further in land these days. I know I don’t live far from the river but I don’t remember seeing so many of them above the house years ago.

Have a good day all ?

mancgirl Tue 28-Jul-20 07:01:44

Good morning all from blue skies and breezy Manchester. Wash day while it is blowing. Had the 4 year old dgs in the car yesterday. He said, "let's sing Polly out the kettle on" we did, then he asked "Nan, why did Suki take it off again" ?. Don't you just love 'em? Not much planned today but something will turn up if only the dreaded housework. Marydoll hope you have a relaxing day. Oh, there's a job, name tapes! The 4yo is tiny too. Have the best day everyone. flowers for those with cares and worries.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. A very different day to yesterday when it was wet and windy.
I've had my hair cut and I feel so much better. Four months without a cut is a lot when you usually have very short hair.
Take care today Marydoll, I hope you start to feel better soon.
I will be making a tea loaf this morning and there is admin to do.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

Oh Spangler no! Not your lovely shiny car ! ??

Oh dear, I forgot that my post could be ambiguous. Definitely not the old MG, that's my retirement toy, it's our everyday VW Golf that will dent my wallet.

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 07:13:04

Phew!
That’s bad enough. ?
Cars can be money pits. Take care when out and about today.

Pantglas2 Tue 28-Jul-20 07:13:10

And a buen dia from sunny ?? ? where I’m enjoying the chamberpot ☕️while lolling ?!

I shall shift myself once I’ve finished reading your morning posts and do some yoga ?‍♀️ before sorting piles of washing after yesterday’s beach trip - sand gets everywhere doesn’t it!

Hope your treatment is sorted Marydoll- we need you back in Skool soon - you can see my spelling is atrocious without your lessons?!

Rabbit Stifado for dinner tonight- prepped on Sunday and nicely infused for serving with garlic mash and veggies- nom nom!

Stay safe everyone x

Good morning from sunny Colchester. DH has gone fishing so I will get to mop the floors and know that they will stay clean for a while.
The weather feels fresher and the nights are drawing in. Your plans for hibernation sound just the ticket,Grandmattie

grandMattie Tue 28-Jul-20 07:17:02

Pant , do you take your chamber pot with you wherever you go? I do. Most mugs are piddling little things aren’t they?

cornergran Tue 28-Jul-20 07:19:47

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey cloud over our corner of Somerset. Hair cut this morning, seems a complex process now. Some cleaning to finish and ironing to do. Mr C will mutter at his jigsaw, completion seems to have stalled. Would love to reclaim the table. Hope those side effects settle marydoll, stay hopeful. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Gingster Tue 28-Jul-20 07:32:12

Good morning all from a sunny but chilly Suffolk coast. At least the wind has died down after yesterday.

Thank goodness you weren’t in Jessica Spangler.but sorry you hit a pothole at all. They’re everywhere aren’t they !

Marydoll I know what you mean about the tiny uniforms. My DG starts full time in September and although she will be the eldest, she’s the tiniest. DD had to order on line as the usual places only had ‘huge ‘ sizes.

DS1 and family arriving today with their huge dog. They’ll stay a few days so life will be fun and hectic. My little pooch won’t be too keen. She likes her own space . ?.

Have as pleasant a day as possible. ?

Grandmabatty Tue 28-Jul-20 07:42:38

Good Morning All. It's a beautiful blue skied, bright and breezy Polmont. It's my second day of babysitting today so I will be tired tonight. I hope he's okay after his spectacular dive out of the highchair last night. My DD was very upset and felt like the worst mum ever. I hope she's ok too. I have nothing much planned. A visit to the fish man first thing and playing with lots of cars is the order of the day. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Tue 28-Jul-20 07:51:16

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the rain has eventually stopped. Yesterday was a complete washout- the rain started just past 9am and I don’t think it stopped all day. I went into town to do a bit of shopping and then to DD2 house in the afternoon to play a few games with the DGC who were getting bored. Hopefully it’ll be a much better day today and we can all get outside a bit more!
Hoping everyone has the best day they can especially those with worries and struggles. Take care everyone whatever the day brings ?

Harris27 Tue 28-Jul-20 07:53:21

Morning all haven’t posted for a while I’m back at work at the nursery numbers down but that always happens this time of the year. Pray for more children to come back. Should know bySeptember . New fridge ordered as old one gone for good. Looking forward to A bit of sunshine by Friday and some gardening . Hope everyone is ok.

NfkDumpling Tue 28-Jul-20 07:56:42

Morning All

Such a change from yesterday here in the north of Norfolk. The wind is now a gentle breeze and the sun is bright in a clear blue sky. I'm really pleased about that as DiL is dropping DGS off for a sleep over this morning and he's very lively so a trip to the newly re-opened park is on the cards. The first sleepover this year and he's very excited!

I do hope that your body gets used to your new treatment Marydoll and the side effects aren't as severe this time around. flowers

gillybob Tue 28-Jul-20 07:57:26

Good morning from the NE coast where we have had very high winds all night . It’s a fairly bright start this morning but still very windy .

Still no order GrandMattie but I do have another conference call booked with my potential customer later today and we haven’t had a definite no, so there’s still a smidgen of hope .

But .......

My DH got a text message fairly last night inviting him to attend hospital today for a pre-op appointment . Then within a few minutes a second text arrived inviting him for a Covid test at a different hospital at the same time . There was a number to ring on each text (both different) but no answer when I tried ringing last night so I will be on it in very soon.

Typical of the NHS that the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing . We are worried that there finally might be a date for his operation and we haven’t had the letter ?

I watched the documentary-drama about the life that might’ve been “Anthony Walker” on BBC last night and can highly recommend it, but I cried buckets so you will need a hankie (well several in my case) .

I’m just getting ready to leave for “that place” a little earlier today as I need to get on to the hospital and probably rearrange my day and conference calls etc. Depending what they say. Ones things for sure we can’t be in 2 different hospitals in different towns at the same time .

I hope you begin to feel the benefits of your treatment very soon Marydoll . When my DH came out of hospital last time he had severe mouth ulcers (due to the cocktail of antibiotics he had been having) and they recommended rinsing his mouth out with pure pineapple juice . He said he thought it helped ? So maybe worth a try .

Thinking of all our missing friends dragonfly, BlueSapphire and CherryCezzy and hoping they will be back with us very soon .

Have the best Tuesday possible everyone . Love Gillybob xx

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ? where it’s a gorgeous morning. The air is much fresher. Wasn’t it humid yesterday Pantglas down on the beach? I was melting when we got there.
?

Love the joke Spangler. My first giggle of the day. Be good if you could send your bill to the council. Marydoll glad you’re on the right side of things. I can feel your trepidation as it’s last chance saloon for this treatment. My witchy sense says it will go well. ?

Oh grandMattie what a rubbish start to your day ...
?

So Tuesday = Ladies Who Wine afternoon. Yay! I’ve asked on the Q.T. that Maria Carmen who owns the little bar to bring a bottle of cava in an ice bucket to the table with 4 flutes (and I will pick up the tab for our afternoon session) as it’s celebration day - my first State Pension payment goes into my bank account today! ???? I had planned to take us all out for a meal but I’m not keen on taxis yet and my lovely 85y old neighbour can’t walk far now in this summer heat. ❤️

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Beechnut Tue 28-Jul-20 08:19:36

That’s odd Urm. Our birthdays are a day apart and my first SP was on the 20th.

Enjoy your celebration ?????
