Hello, Callistemon I seem to have missed your posts recently.
A gorgeous day. Cloudless sky. Glittering sea. G&T to partake of a little later.
My love to you all. I hope that shall meet again tomorrow.

(1001 Posts)Here we are again
Happy as can be,
All good friends and jolly good company.
A hearty welcome.
and plenty of virtual HUGS.
Hello soop
I don't pop in often enough (can't keep up!) but it's lovely to catch up from time to time.
It's grey, rather damp and cool here today
A G&T sounds like a good idea ?
Sorry to read about your fall Galen, I know the feeling. After my last 2 falls, both outside, I was lucky enough to be picked up by a lovely, STRONG, young man from next door but one. My family badger me to wear my Lifeline pendant, it annoys the heck out of me when wearing it, but I`ve given in and started to wear it now.
Soop a very belated happy birthday wishes to you! I've not been reading posts lately, so had a lot to catch up on. So pleased you had a wonderful day and follow up celebrations!
Galen sorry to read about your tumble - a horrible experience. Take care of yourself, make haste, slowly and think long and hard before making final decisions
Just saw the words Galen and tumble pop up on my “I’m on” view, so I have dashed into the kitchen to check up on her.
galen I’m so sorry about your fall. That must have been such a shock. I hope your bruised knees are ok. Glad you’ve got your emergency call sorted now. Hope you recover well soon.
callistemon I have missed you too. How are you?
Hello soop and everyone. Hope you are all ok.
TOYA ?
Sorry to hear you’ve had a fall Galen and I hope your injuries aren’t giving you too much pain.
I think it’s a confidence knock too.
When you feel up to it please get a new alert necklace or bracelet (or both), and try them regularly to be sure they are working.
In a week’s time you won’t feel as vulnerable as you do right now, so please don’t make any rash decisions to move into residential care. A week of rest may put a different complexion on things. ?
I’m sorry Galen I’ve just seen your 2nd post about your Alert for emergencies being sorted (very quickly) for you. ?
So sorry to hear about your fall Galen, it really shakes one's confidence, but glad that you now have your lifeline back in working order.
Doodle still trying to make 2 and 2 equal 5 in a magic square
Hope you are ok
Galen I sent a reply but it vanished somewhere. All it said was that one can buy a walker which has a seat attached. One can lift the seat and it will carry some goodies for you.
A friend of mine, an old polio. uses hers inside and out and finds it so helpful indoors because her balance is not great. Please take care.

? Yes she is. Feel better soon Miss ? ?
mrshat thank you for your kind greetings. I celebrated for a week. Why not! The next will be the 80th. I may choose to celebrate for an entire fortnight.
Callistemon Please pop in as often as you wish. The more, the merrier.
Hello to you too, dear Doodle.
Galen I trust that you are feeling less discombobulated and been recovering in a befitting ladylike manner.
Galen I am so sorry to hear about your fall because I know from experience how they shake you up badly . As I have metastases to my spine I now have to wear a full length back brace in case I fall.
I have a similar walker to the one suggested by Calendar Girl and it gives me extra confidence and its great to be able to be able to have a quick sit down anywhere. I highly recommend it. I hope you feel better soon.
galen, how rotten all that episode was for you! I do hope you are feeling better today
Hope you are feeling better today galen?
My mum has one of the walkers that CalendarGirl recommended. It has made a massive difference to her confidence.I would say if you decide to get one make sure you get the four wheel version for stability.

Hello Baggs What...no flapjacks!
Daisyboots Thank you for joining us. How long have you had metastases in your spine?
Recently two chunks of filling have vacated two upper teeth. I've a sore inside cheek because of one having a very jagged edge. As I have regular post cancer, Zoledronic acid infusions, my gums are at risk of shrinking and teeth becoming loose. I'm not able to have extractions for fear of a dreadful reaction that could result in the jaw bone dying. There is barely a sliver of tooth left. Tomorrow, I shall phone the dentist for an appointment. Oh joy!
Hello everyone. I hope your aches are settling down Galen.
Sitting with a cuppa after taking DGC home, watching recorded rugby but DH’s breathing is deep and regular and his eyes are firmly closed!
I think 6 months without a break is taking its toll on these two. They are very good at winding each other up. Divide and rule has been our motto. DGD helping me bake cake!
There’s a wholemeal sourdough loaf on the table with some butter. Help yourselves.
Nannytopsy what a beautiful photo of that young lady baking.

Hello Soop my spine and pelvis metastases were diagnosed early last year but obviously had been there a while before that. I had IV chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year but they didnt halt the spread of the mets. As well as having oral chemo in the hope of stopping progression or even killing them I also have Zometa (zolendronic acid) infusions every 4 weeks. Now I have reduced my painkillers right down I did feel the terrible aching bones you have described after my infusion kast week. About the time of my diagnosis the side of one of my back teeth broke off but as there was no pain I haven't done anything about it. Like you I dread to think what will happen if I have to have dental treatment. My oncologist said that to counteract the possibility of gum necrosis they now do 3 monthly in the 2nd year.
Daisyboots You have had a lot to cope with. Well done for remaining positive. Is that Zolendronic acid infusions that you are referring to..."3 monthly in the second year"?
I have a dental appointment for Wednesday. Very little will be done. Gum necrosis is something I am terrified of having to deal with. My gums are shrinking. That could merely down to "old age".
Nannytopsy Have the photo enlarged and framed. It's a winner.
Yesterday afternoon, I took a tumble in our bedroom. My big toe caught in the cuff of my trews. I fell heavily on the wood floor, but it could have been so much worse had it been on the pathway. MacS was at a meeting and I could not get myself up for twenty minutes. Bruised but nothing broken. Like Galen, I shuffled myself across the floor until I reached three steps. It was at that point that I had the means to get into a kneeling position.
