Soop, apologies, I thought I`d mentioned your friend yesterday, but obviously now I read back, I omitted to, so I`m really sorry. These things happen alarmingly quickly, poor lady.
Ann, what dreadfully sad news about your neighbours. The story smacks of desperation, was one of them seriously ill?
My son has heard the result of his recent MRI, it was favourable, and he`ll soon be able to go back on his cancer treatment. Relief all round.
I`ve just had my Tesco delivery, the first night time one, I`ve decided I prefer daytime deliveries, but beggars can`t be choosers.

Thank you all for your good wishes for DH. He is going to ask for more powerful painkillers tomorrow but he does try to avoid them if he can. What awful news Ann and a few poorlies in the kitchen. Do we need to open a ward again? Any volunteers for Matron?

Ann, what a nasty shock for you and the other residents in your road. It's a tragedy and maybe no-one will ever know the full history.
Last night one of my front crowned teeth fell out. I shoved it back in and hoped I wouldn't choke on it. Today it fell out again in the shower. The dentist managed to fit me in and cemented it as what will probably be a temporary measure. I have another appointment in three weeks. Oh joy!
Sympathies to all the DHs in pain. Is our 'men's ward' soon to be re-opened?

My goodness, so much angst in the kitchen at the moment. I sincerely hope everyone can find the recovery route and access it at their own pace. MacS reminds me of my mother,. She was blind but insisted on being independent and doing things. Caused everyone else so much hassle, some injuries. Strong words were largely ignored until the hip #.

So what a difference a day makes in the Shire. Yesterday I watched a gathering of great tits and long tailed tits flitting in and out of the trees, chattering loudly and seemingly competing to land in the smallest space between leaves. Their acrobatics were a joy to watch and brought a smile to my face. This morning? Zilch, birdwise. Even the crows are elsewhere. There is an air of expectation out there - but I know not what of.

Brainwise - a good patch. And yes perhaps the ward for recalcitrant men needs taking out of mothballs.

Izabella Your splendid suggestion for a conservatory for recovering ladies could not have come at a better time. I've ordered a selection of chaise longues and a few perfumed candles...together with a daily delivery of fresh flowers. We shall have a wee cabinet in which we'll keep a selection of crystal decanters containing lady-like tipples. Not forgetting Magnum ice creams and handmade chocolates. We may even employ a pianist to play soothing tunes on the grand piano. Have I missed anything important?

Our granddaughter's waters broke in the early hours. Gentle contractions signify hoped for good, celebratory news before the end of the day. Yay!

Grandmafrench,lunch was lovely.DH and SIL sampled the local brew so are now nodding off in the conservatory.DD1 and Henry have gone home but Matilda decided she needed to stay.She is so used to staying here and considers it her house so felt she had to stay to keep an eye on DD2,SIL and particularly her little cousin.The sharing of toys has not been going particularly well?

Hope MacS is continuing to recover and that Mr NT has been seen by the dermatologist.

That baby is still in the process of making an entrance. Or so I believe. I have sent a text to my son to apologise (for being a busy body) and wanting yet another update. Maybe this evening...she says, with a fixed grin on her face. I shall not be able to sleep tonight until I know that all is accomplished and all is well.

ann I read the news regarding the tragic deaths of the couple who live near you. It's so sad. Could it be that one was really poorly and the couple made a pact? No matter, they were both reasonably young in years. They could have shared many more years together. Perhaps we shouldn't speculate. We cannot know what happens beyond closed doors.

Oh, Susan, you can be assured of a chaise when you need one. I shall reserve one with a sea view. Watching the waves can be very relaxing.

I've received a message from our friend's mother. She will remain in hospital in Glasgow, which is a very long way to drive from our village. We all feel that we will not be having our friend return home. Her husband is ninety, has had two recent strokes, he is being cared for by the family who also live in the village.

My messaging was cut short. MacSporran needed the computer. I could not log off without saying the usual farewell. I hope to have exciting news to share with you in the morning.

My TV has been "no signal" since the start of the very hot weather- please do not ask me why I have left it until today to get somebody to hopefully repair it for me. He is coming later this pm.

If he gets it working it will make such a change not carting my supper and coffee upstairs each evening to watch TV in my bedroom. I may open a bottle of wine as a celebration but that may be a step too far, especially if the TV has died.

Now my washing is ready to be hung out the sunshine has vanished.

Thank you for your kind messages. It was not an easy birth - but - our granddaughter, with the help of the maternity staff, overcame the problem without the need of surgical intervention.

Daddy is Dutch. He was a large baby. Lauren is my build. Gritty with it.

I am about to shower and have a nap my day so far .......a quick swoop round our Sainsbury’s local, Chemist to pick up more beds for my skin infection, PiYo class at the gym and then looking after my 3 yr old GD and her 11 month old brother who has just started walking. Congratulations great granny, Soop. That's a good healthy weight and a good name - if he's half as nice as my Toby, he will be a delight.
I'd vote for a conservatory for 'recovering ladies'. The dentist cemented my crown but an infection crept in and I had to ring up and ask for an antibiotic which is making me nauseous, therefore sorry for myself. Normally a prize sleeper, last night was horrible and now I am tired and grumpy. Luckily I have no-one to take it out on!

Congratulations Soop what a beautiful big baby and a lovely family. I've just been shopping with dd and dgs and bought some Christmas stuff and toys for the boy. He was not impressed when I lifted them out of the car but he'll get them on Monday at my house. Have a lovely weekend all.
