Just popping in quickly before I collapse into my bed.
I had a lovely day yesterday with DD and Matilda and DH and Henry had a good day too.Sadly we got home to the news that DH’s uncle had died.He had lived with DH’s family until DH was about 10 so they were very close.
We decided that we would go up to the coast today as a walk by the sea always makes us feel better. We had a picnic lunch at Betws y Coed then a long walk at Llandudno. We finished off with fish and chips at Rhos on Sea and got home about half an hour ago absolutely shattered but feeling much better.
I will try and catch up with all the posts tomorrow but until then am TOYA

A hearty welcome.

Oops, not Gagajo, Glitabo - blame the ?
Ah, Glitabo, she sat fairly close to me, I liked her, but she wasn`t here for long after that, was she?
Susan, I envy you your lovely trip out, Betws y Coed is one of my favourite places in Wales, so very pretty.
Mia has now eaten 3 portions of chicken soup, Lynne`s carer managed to open the medicine bottle, but I`ll wait until morning now to give it to Mia, she`s quite contented at the moment, I don`t want to upset her at this time of night.
PS, Grandmafrench, it was just a friendly correction, honest!
Oh Susan what memories you have brought to the fore.
H and I had a static caravan at Rhyd-y- Foel, just inland from Colwyn Bay for about 9 years, we loved Llandudno as our favourite place and visited Rhos on Sea several times a week when we were there.
We had some very happy times and only gave it up when H started on his Alzheimer journey.
It was a huge blow to us.
Betws was another regular visit and we loved walking along the river, tree stumps and all.
You have revived some wonderful memories of very happy times, thank you.
Ann, I am glad I have reminded you of happy times.
My husband is from West Wales and I spent a lot of my childhood on Anglesey as my grandma had a cottage there.Betws,Llandudno and Rhos are the places we have made memories together.
We lived in Llanwrst when I was young and my younger twin brothers were born there. In fact, the doctor who delivered them came into my bedroom by mistake and I was convinced that the black bag he carried contained my new brothers.
Obvs we lived in Llanrwst. Blessed phone!
Good morning /afternoon to you all from West Wales!!!
Having just read your posts I simply had to pop my head and wish you well from the Wales that you seem to love and enjoy to visit!
Things are very different this year but of course that seems to be much the case wherever you are.
I shall add some ozone from our skies and hywl fawr from our hearts.........keep safe!
Susan56 I'm sorry about your loss. ?
Fennel Yay! Bring it on. I would love one of these gizmos.
Grandmafrench In spite of "our George" being seriously ill, he maintains a perfectly pleasant and cheerful manner whenever he reads the news. I think that he is an inspiration, and handsome with it.
Maw you and the rest of the ladies look positively blooming as you gather together to share an hour or two of quality time. The ladies at the Gallery obviously didn't know what they were missing.
kitty It's what families do. Especially when they trust the folk with whom they are sharing their woes.
Nannyt Well said. x
Susan A very happy day spent with those you love. I am sorry that you returned to sad news. You did the right thing - walking beside the sea, a picnic and the delicious treat of fish and chips.
Aren't we lucky to have the pleasure of good memories to savor. Right this moment, I'm thinking especially of ann.
I am logging off and wishing every one of you a pleasant and peaceful weekend. At nine o'clock precisely, I shall raise a glass on G&T to you. As we say in Scotland, Slainte
I shall be with you again tomorrow.

I think it was corner who was talking about her garden being finished!
Never heard such a thing in all my born days as my own Gran would have said! I am afraid that we are merely caretakers and whatever we do will be changed by the next caretakers.
We left a beautiful garden 6 years ago this month and when we passed by recently I was so horrified at the decimation that I nearly drove into the loch! I have advised DD that when she leaves her house at the end of this month she does not leave in her garden anything which is special to her if it is at all possible.
On the other hand when we arrived here we took down so many trees that the wood kept us warm for three winters!
Oh blimey synonymous did I say finished? If I did I surely didn’t mean it. We’re trying to make ours suit my reducing mobility. Seven years ago when we planted it I could tend low growing plants and generally keep order, now it’s much less comfortable and made us aware of a need to make changes. We’re clearing (with huge reluctance on my part) and re-vamping, but finishing? Never! If for no other reason I will always find room for another tub which just might come with a plant
. It’s a work in progress and I suspect will be for a year or so.
We’ve moved around a fair bit, while I’ve never minded leaving a house I always mind leaving a garden. I recently looked at our previous home on Google Earth and had to give myself a stern talking to when I saw that a much loved planted area was no longer there, no roses, no pebble pool, no fountain - just grass.
We all want different things from our gardens don’t we?
I’m sorry for your loss susan, sad news for your family, particularly your husband. The sea can be very healing.
Good day here today, enjoyable if cool beach walk, the wind and tide combining to create some noisy waves. Caught up with a friend this afternoon and then with some outstanding tasks. Suspect tomorrow will be a quiet one
TOYA.
I know exactly what you mean corner about it always being the garden rather than the house that you really mind leaving, same here. The lady at the latest house we left allowed us to collect all our roses when we were ready for them and I was very thankful. In the back garden we had created a wide walkway under a pergola up which wisteria was trained and below were the roses and lavender and it was an absolute delight. What a mess everything was when we returned and since then we kept away thinking it coukdn't get any worse but we didn't want to see it anyway. How wrong we were and the destruction now encompasses the front garden. I will keep my eyes averted in future but it was the digger which was the jaw dropping final straw!

It must be like living on a tropical island! I've had a cooking and baking day. Slow cooker beef casserole, scones, coffee and walnut cake and an apple and bramble crumble. I'm off to paint some leaves for an autumn painting I'm doing.
Grandmabatty Do you have room for a visitor? I wish to sample your goodies. The crumble in particular. Is there to be custard?
Susan sorry to hear about your DH’s uncle. Betws is a lovely place. We went there on holiday once and loved it.
Lovely picture soop I love the colours of your outfit. ?
TOYA ?
Grandmabatty me too please snd my goodness you are a busy and energetic lady!
soop I have just shown Himself your photo in front of your amazing gunnera and he has decided that he has the very place in mind for one! I cannot imagine that it would be easy to take a cutting but watch out for him as he is very likely to try
soop you beat me to it. I would prefer savoury food so no problems there. Nothing would be wasted.
The sun has been shining but there is an autumnal feel in the air.
corner I do not know how far away you live but maybe you could kindly spend a day here sorting out tubs and hanging baskets please?
soop Himself has been looking it up and has discovered that to take a cutting you remove a piece as you would a slice of pie and the best time is April or May. He has been bitten by enthusiasm as he has slways wanted one so you have been warned!
I really don't think that would be an easy thing to do though and can see that I am going to have to buy him a plant if I am going to continue being welcome to visit the kitchen.
While we’re thinking gardens a miracle occurred today. We visited a very well stocked garden centre full of healthy plants and I bought - nothing!
. Mr C is trying to keep up as I’ve already proposed changes to the plans we had for our garden, well, gardens do grow don't they?
That gunnera is majestic soop, they are amazing plants. Wish I could sort your tubs and hanging baskets, Charley, always happy to play in the dirt
.
Onwards now, time to prepare the veg for our roast. The last of our home grown runner beans and some home grown carrots which are still going strong. Tomorrow the bean plants will head to the compost bags and I can rearrange a bit. Doesn’t take much to keep me happy.
TOYA.
I have plenty of room and you're all welcome! ☺ No custard Soop, I'm afraid but nice vanilla ice cream. Will that do?
