Thank you Grandmafrench, mum is not the easiest person to handle but is excited about her new life. Lots on site for her to do I think she will settle nicely.

it’s a positive that your mum is looking forward to her move. It’s more difficult when it has to be done for safety and a Mum or Dad doesn’t want the change.
When our older relatives are seemingly unreasonable it’s often not their personality but their senility that causes it.
My m-i-l was very difficult to keep safe and be able to reassure and reason with, but it was the dementia she developed in her 80’s which turned her into a different person.

Good morning to you. I'm having a break while dgs is having a nap. The American style buttermilk pancakes with blueberries for breakfast were a huge success. A pick and mix for lunch of cheese, olives, raspberries and yoghurt. He's a great wee eater at 18 months. He also likes taking all the tins out of my cupboard so I've had a busy morning putting them back in!

Hope your mum settles in well Freya - it sounds like a wonderful place for her and a good solution to avoid the rest of the family worrying about her.

I am a woman on a mission today as I have cut a load of face masks for family as they will be with us for a while I think and putting together mini hand sanitisers for everyone . Ill post a pick in a day or so of them, they've worked out wonderfully.

The parcel that was on a walkabout, was delivered today together with the knitted Winnie the Pooh bear. I am thrilled. Will parcel up the goodies this afternoon and post to our granddaughter - the Mummy in waiting. There is also a special gift for Mila - sister in waiting.

I got a new sewing machine on Friday and think I am going into mask production for the family too.I have tried the machine to check it is all in working order,it is a lot more efficient than my old one.

We have had the roofer here this morning to scrape the moss off the roof and clean the gutters.I was still in bed when he called to say he was on his way and feel like I have been rushing ever since.

Miss Matilda is coming to stay for a few days tomorrow so will spend this afternoon getting her room ready and making some of her favourite treats.She would love the buttermilk pancakes Grandmabatty.We have decorated her bedroom with the theme of Frozen2 and managed to get some bunting with her favourite characters which I will sort this afternoon.

Glad the missing parcel turned up Soop.We had a parcel delivered while DH was outside talking to the roofer.Delivery driver didn’t look at them,left the parcel in the porch along with a sorry I missed you card?‍♀️

Hello lovely Kitchen peeps!

Speaking of parcels........a wonderful woman in the wilds of Scotland (well known for her dancing on tables and alternately filled with kindness and mayhem !) sent me a surprise package for my Birthday today! I am beyond thrilled. She has captured the exact likeness of my adorable cat, Nouba. We will treasure the paintings forever. Thank you so, so much. You're a STAR xx

Another friend sent me a terrific tome of knowledge all about the nice Orange Clown who is running amok in the USA. (Well, for now anyway!). She is clearly tired of me moaning on about him and has decided that I need to get my facts right. This little book will cover it all nicely. Can't wait to send on details to a friend in Florida, she'll be in fits. Just what she needs at the moment to lift the fear and worry.

Wonderful, hot windy day. I am about to sit by the pool again and eat another Magnum, again, and snooze in the breeze. We are having a calm, quiet birthday and hoping to go a bit mad later in the year. Don't need anything else to add to a lovely day and absolutely no point in wishing we were doing anything else.

What a lovely bunch of smiley people NannaandGrampy - those smiles should be bottled and given out in Pharmacies.

Anyone for an experimental chocolate cake?
I’m trying out a new brand of cacao which is very dark and supposed to be very tasty! We shall see!
I’ll have to leave a small slice (about 3/4 ) For Gary as the poor wee man is being starved to death.

Tomorrow is H Day. Haircut, much needed. I have taken a year to grow out all the layers that made my fine hair look sparse. Now it looks much thicker and has become, in its old age, curly like it was when I was pre-school! When I think of all the effort my mum put in trying to persuade my locks into ringlets! If only she could see me now. Well...perhaps not!

Thank you all for your good wishes. The move went smoothly, mum is very happy and under instruction to take it easy tonight, my sister and I will unpack her tomorrow. We left her heading for the residents dining room to check out the menu for the evening meal. Her carer will help her change for bed later as a stroke has put her left arm out of action, she needs a little help with some things.we are all exhausted but it is good to see her happy and feeling safe. Good morning from the temporary reporter in the Shire. My name is Fredbear (threadbare), a retired gentleman of some distinction and much loved (although recent events have led me to question the latter.)

I am now feeling much better after a prolonged and terrifying lurch around the washing machine., Readers - it was hell. Soap in my eyes, water in every orifice, and as for the spinning - I still have tinnitus and vertigo. My other complaints are a dislocated hip, sunken chest syndrome and tide marks. At least I am nearly dry, although I understand I have another day of indignity propped on the washing line in hot sun.

Oh goody - temporary reprieve. ?

I understand TOYA is the correct way to end my post, and I trust you will all be treated with a little more respect and consideration from your carers.
